She ran carefree and exhilarated at the joy of using her muscles to their full extent and the prospect of discovering more of the knowledge locked inside her. But then she thought she heard a noise it was something she had never heard before, speaking words she already knew the meaning too without knowing why.
Then suddenly something was there in the clearing she had paused in. Darkness deeper than anything in their twilight world of stars and from it poured wave upon wave of … of evil. The word floated to her mind without thought or reason but it was true, whatever it was it was evil. With a look of defiant fear she gazed up at the hulking figure. It growled at her, a guttering noise deep in its throat that promised pain and destruction.
Rage bubbled inside her, she did not understand it but it coursed through her veins none the less. How dare this thing stand here and sully this beautiful land. Thought did not enter into her mind as she reacted instinctively.
Taking a step or two forward she answered his growl with one of her own unlike it hers sounded almost musical but in her tune rang out notes of protection and her own small menace. She was unsure what good she could do but she would not stand down to it. Again she loosed her growl her point was clear ‘How dare you tarnish this place’.
Then before she knew it two unknown males of her kin had entered into the clearing and one of whom had tried to throw a medium sized stone at it. This just seemed to enrage it more as his fellow pointed out. She didn’t know what to do and she felt a fear of an unknown outcome wreathed in darkness and sleep eternal but she pushed past it. She stood shoulder to shoulder with the males.
“We can we do?” She asked her voice shaking but still strong and full.
