WOTM #21 Theme Choice

[WOTM]

Theme Options:

Theme: Sacrifice.
Explained: A story in which sacrifice: Allegorical, metaphorical, and/or literal, is the main theme of the story in some form or fashion.
Components:

• The story is told in the form of a memory or flashback.
• The story does not involve romance.
• The story is told during a war or otherwise significant conflict.
• The story does not end with the death or injury of any character.
• The story is set in a science fiction universe.

Theme: Fantasy (genre).
Explained: A story or poem that contains elements of fantasy and fits under the fantasy genre.
Components:

• The story includes fantasy elements in modern-day times.
• Magic is seen in a negative light.
• The protagonist is non-human.
• The story subverts traditional fantasy roles, in one manner or another. (IE: Princess rescues dragon from evil knight.)
• The story includes a unique race of the author's creation.

Theme: Poverty.
Explained: A story about crippling poverty.

• The story is set on an alternate history Earth. IE: What if the Nazis won? Communism? Ice age still? Etc.
• The main character/protagonist is not in poverty themselves.
• The setting is Rural (country-side) instead of Urban (city).
• The story is told through the eyes of a Child.
• The story is poetry, or contains a piece of poetry. The poetry must be original.

Yeah, sorry about the lack of new options. Up until now, us managers haven't needed to plan 3+ months ahead with the themes. :/

I actually like the fact that old options don't go away if they're not chosen on their first go, especially considering how close it was last time.

Aye. We knew we'd be bringing old ones back, I was just kinda hoping we'd have at least two new ones this time. Oh well.

By how difficult it is to choose just one right now. With my thoughts from the #20 voting thread, I can see how Fantasy and Sacrifice would get the most interesting and varied stories... Narrowing it down to one is gunna be rouugghhh.

I hope poverty gets through. That would be really interesting to write about. But, I suppose, sacrifice would be good too.

I'm sorta hoping that sacrifice comes through, on grounds of me already having the base lines of a story in my head :P

Voting Fantasy, because this time I might actually send in something.

Shame the idea I first wanted to write about doesn't fit into any of the categories. I have many other ideas, however.

I voted fantasy to since it is on of the two genres I read, write and make ideas the most.If fantasy doesn't become theme of the 21th WOTM no problem since I already have a few ideas for all of the themes. Might actually start working on them since I come here for inspiration (and typing practice) not rewards.
