    Magical Mayhem

An eighteen year old girl walked alone on the treacherous mountain path, her face and gait showing both confidence and a determination to carry out her task at hand. Despite the layer of snow crunching underfoot, she was able to travel lightly without any sign of discomfort from the cold. Her feet barely sunk downward, leaving only a minor impression of the path that she had taken. She wore an outfit of black, light blue, and white; a futuristic looking form-fitting suit, black cape, black gloves and boots. Strapped to her waist was a sheathed katana. She also wore an out of place black backpack, bulky anklets and bracelets, and six strange cylinders attached to her belt that were about the length of a finger but slightly thicker. Like her sword, her facial features were also clearly Asian. She had dark blue, almost black hair flowing all the way down her back. Her eyes, focused steadily in front of her, were aqua. She didn't bother wearing any makeup on her soft, pale face. Here name was Tsukino Kurami, and she had magic flowing through her body. Like anyone else with magic it helped shield her from the harsh temperatures, among other attacks, increased her physical abilities far beyond that of normal humans, and also gave her a unique magical ability called Kiginitsu. It was quite powerful, even for those with magical abilities. So far, however, on this mountain path she had yet to need it against the monsters roaming around that had tried to impede her progress. In fact, she hadn't even drawn her sword at all against them. These monsters would be nearly unbeatable for normal humans, and as such she didn't cross path when any of them this entire journey. They had likewise abandoned the city that was her destination, a city that had just appeared to her as she maneuvered around the last bend in the trail.
    .
The buildings were made of stone, some of them reaching high into the sky in pointed spires as tall as fifty stories. Many of these more grandiose towers appeared to serve as religious facilities sprouting out of temples, while the rest of the more lowly and densely packed buildings being houses spiraling out around them, making the temples featured prominently at the center. One particularly large and thick temple served as the centerpiece to these structures. The only obvious entrance to the city was one massive stone bridge and two smaller ones on either side that allowed for normal humans to cross over the deep chasm below the southern entrance. To the north was a dead end due to a mountain chain that this city was nestled inside. That being said, anyone who had traveled down this mountain path would only be going here. For whatever reason, her target was seen heading this direction, so logically she was here for some unknown reason. The humans had abandoned this place for many years in some mysterious event that caused it to be overwhelmed with monsters, so perhaps there was many good reasons for someone to be exploring the area. Kurami wasn't particularly interested in any of this, however. She was mainly after her target, a girl she honestly didn't have much information on. Whoever this girl was she had to be tough for her employer to send Kurami on this case, his most talented agent available.
    .
After searching the area for any signs of energy that would give away the fact that someone had magical power in the area, she began to walk casually down the large center bridge. She made no effort to hide her magical energy signal. If her target sensed her presence and tried to run, then on the bright side she could fly over and quickly chase her down. If she got attacked, then even better. She knew her opponent would be tough, but she was also confident in her own abilities to get the job done.

Kresvár climbed year another rock an almost slipped, but regained his hold. His hand reached up again, and he pulled himself up. He stood looking up on the city in which he travelled to. His hood stuck to his sleek black hair that was dark red at the tips. His red eyes indicated that he was evil, but really, he was in turmoil, in a constant civil war within his mind. His eye color showing which side of morals was winning in his mind. He had a white clothe cover over his mouth to retain heat, and his hoodie was futuristic to the last detail of string the blades on his back were darker than evil itself, for they have taken lives that were needed to get his back. He wore dark blue jeans, along with shoes that were designed to give better traction in any environment. Although he had to adjust to them from time to time, thy never failed him. His skin was a dark brown, indicating he was from somewhere where the heat was strong. He wore gloves that had nano tech in them so as to also help with traction an his magic ability to control any and all elements. He had his pack skin over his left should hat had necessary supplies.

He was looking for a young girl, possibly his age, 19. Maybe younger, he was not sure. She was of Asian ethnicity and he did not hunt her for power, but knowledge. And so he began his climb once again, knowing from he bodies of creatures that lea him here, that she was here. And so, the bleak day began.

(Do you guys mind if I just jump into the roleplay here? I'm new, so I'm not exactly sure how people do their roleplays around here. Please excuse my interruption! )

River Yao ducked behind a snow-covered boulder, her pale hands pressed into the snow upon its sleek face. If she froze to death, she would be found by the girl that was told to be hunting her down. A girl named Tsukino Kurami. If she was found dead, what would they do to her? Her eyes glazed over, almost reaching out to death, but she fought it out, and pulled her long, white skirts out from underneath her (she had white cargo pants underneath them to provide extra warmth) and got up, her eyes trained on a black cape in the distance that stood out as much as possible, as if the bearer of it wanted to be found.

She pulled out her machine gun that was tucked underneath her billowing fur coat and aimed it at the silhouette, narrowing her eyes in preparation. She had an instinct to kill everyone she saw, because whenever she saw someone, she saw them as this "Kurami" girl. She didn't want to be killed. "Kill them before they kill you..." River murmured as she closed her fingers around the trigger, and the sound of a thousand little bangs echoed around in her mind.

(A lot of them are set up where you can't just jump in the IC and should visit the OOC or interest check for it first, but for this one I'm allowing people to jump in)

Tsukino Kurami was not to be underestimated, and this first volley of gunfire was easily dodged by a quick sidestep behind a rock wall. So the girl had finally decided to reveal herself...or perhaps it was another one who had just come in? She had thought that her target was already in the city according to some sources, so if she had managed to sneak around behind her then she was to be commended. However, with such a non-stealthy attack to follow, that theory was somewhat unlikely. There wasn't much information to go on right now, so she'd worry about it later. At worst she'd have a few more people to have to deal with, but she wasn't overly worried about that. While waiting for the machinegun fire to stop, she grasped onto the hilt of her katana and pulled it out, revealing that the blade was a shimmering silver color.
    .
"Kiginitsu," she whispered, and at her words a ripple formed on the blade, traveling from the hilt all the way to the tip. Likewise, the exterior of her backpack began to shift around as if someone alive was moving inside of it. However, this fact was concealed mostly by her cape. Once there was a break in the fire, which had to come sooner or later, she'd rush out at inhuman speeds and try to close the gap between the two until she was within range of her magic. While she was running, her sword was held forward as if she was planning to deflect bullets with it, but that would be far too difficult even for her...right? Her opponent could more then likely see the shimmering blade appearing to almost flow around in the wind as she was running, so could probably assume that she was up to something.

(Thank you, thank you! I wonder if TheForgottenOne is going to post again here... It's boring with just two people... )

As River saw the figure turn and race towards her, she suddenly became alarmed. She realized then that she couldn't let the bullet fire stop. It wasn't that she didn't want to make it stop; the handle of the gun had been frozen with some sort of magic ability. Had Kurami meant to do this, or was it a fluke from a trained professional? Surely it wasn't the latter, River thought. From what she'd heard of her hunter, she had been extremely talented and trained ever since she was a little girl. Surely she couldn't make a mistake... Unless... Does she not know it's me? If not, then I can use my power to its fullest while she would be using her power to just impede my process. Yes... I will win this fight... River lets out a maniacal cry in her false triumph and jumps up from behind her boulder, frantically waving the machine gun in circles everywhere in the area she saw the other female. This will surely kill her... I WIN!

(I wouldn't count on TheForgottenOne coming back after a week, but I guess it's possible. If not then we can assume he was eaten by a bear as he was trying to get to us. By the way, I'll be going on a trip on the 6th, so we need to end this battle beforehand or else you'll have to wait a bit)
    .
"Is all that girl able to do is shoot bullets?" Kurami thought to herself as the next round of attacks came in. She hadn't reached her opponent yet, so she'd have no choice but to at least put in some effort into blocking the attacks. Under the influence of her special ability, Kiginitsu, the blade flowed outward as if it was made of gravity defying liquid silver. The material spread out into a half circle in front of her to block all possible angles that the bullets could be coming from, judging by the girl's location. Once the shield was in place, which was almost instantaneous given the speed that the material could move and the small distance it had to travel, she said "Katameru" and it solidified back into the form it had looked like as her blade, only spread out in front of her as a shield. Bullets ricocheted harmlessly off the curved surface, flying every which way but toward her safe she had set up. She couldn't physically see her enemy through this barrier, but she could still sense her energy off in the distance. The only problem was that there wasn't any energy in the pathway to sense, so if she continued forward she would experience some trouble and may even fall off a cliff. She could fly, but if it all happened too fast then she might hit some jagged rock before she could lift off.
    .
"I guess I could just fly over to her and let the shield protect me from underneath..." she though to herself, but then disregarded the idea. For now she wanted to see just how much bullets this girl was going to waste on her magical shield.

Kresvár heard the gun shots of an automatic and began to get worried. He drew his blades and twirled he one in his left Han around in a quick fancy manor, and let it rest in position in a stabbing position. He bent his knees and felt the earth harden for him. Seeing as to how he had influence over the elements, which was him just telepathically asking for its assistance, (most I the time it cooperates. The other times, it misfires or acts in a way Kresvár doesn't wish it so.) this time hardening itself so as to help his jump, in which the air pressure around him lost density and thus made less air resistance so as to jump farther and higher. He jumped from rock to rock with ease and finally reached the first wall of the city. He quickly jumped to the wall so to get to the rooftops and planted his right foot firmly onto it, feeling electricity jump into he equation and reversing the gravitational force around him with the help of the air, and the earth not wanting to pull it near her sweet embrace. He ran up the wall and traversed the elements again and let them return to their normal state, as he tried to search for the battle.

"I hope she isn't hurting the girl. I need her as well...don't you two kill each other...!" Kresvár sad in a calm stern voice. He again asked the wind for its help and he ran, jumped and cleared the distance to the rooftop opposite to him. He jumped to two more before he finally saw the battle he worried was taking a turn for the worst. He jumped once more and saw the two at a stand still, for now. He made a quick assumption and came to a quick decision. He needed to intervine by destroying that gun and locking blades with the other one, wih the shield and blade emanating a magical essence. He threw the blade in his right hand up into the air so it would flip 180 degrees and caught the tip of the blade, before throwing it at the girl with the automatic weapon. It flew perfectly and hit the barrel, rendering it unusable. Quickly after Krevár threw the blade and bent again and summoned electricity to his feet, had the air condense behind him and let the two store pressure, and once they hit the right amount, Kresvár let them release and he propelled forward with a loud 'CRACK' coming from the pressure. Electricity slowly evaperted and Krevár saw the girl with the blade look up at him shocked, and he asked the earth to soften in front of her so as to give him an easy landing, also asking the air to raise he resistance to ensure a soft and smooth easy landing in front I the young girl. He planted his feet firmly and raised his blade to lock with hers, from a blow he knew wold arrive.

"Rest your blade! I do not come to fight! I come for knowledge! Just listen!" Kresvár pleaded before she tried for a series of blows. He did not want to hurt her but he would do what he needed for self defense.
