From what I know, most schools in Japan are now Monday-Friday after the Yutori movement a decade or so ago. However I think there are still a few private schools that have school on Saturdays, and either way it's not uncommon for clubs to use the Saturday as a club activity day. Either way Saturday school for the most part was abolished.
In this RP though I'm planning to cut students even more slack. School will be from Monday-Friday. And Wednesday will be a half day, with the latter half being dedicated to self-study and/or club activities. For the most part, that just gives our characters to meet up at school, without the burden of classes and such. Either way it's unlikely we'll actually end up roleplaying an entire week fully, as I'll probably skip a few days here and there.
As for Calendar, I was going off memory, so the calendar is much appreciated xD Just need to combine it with a commercial holiday calendar and I should be set. :P

Eh won't be too fussed if people take tomorrow off, or on new years.
Posting daily is desired, but I'm not going to demand people force themselves to post if there's an occasion.
I just want to avoid things like. "Hey I'm on Christmas break and preparing for Christmas so I'll be away for the next week" sort of thing.
Also a question about skills. Will we have access to the buff/ debuff skills? What about the bad status ( poison charm etc) type spell?

Are Fusion spells going to come into play at all?( possibly persona 2 style or unique spells depending on characters social links with each other )

Yeah I'd be interested in that, too. Tomoko would definitely use the buff spell that raises a person's attack, or speed if there is one of the latter. Can't remember atm.
And thanks for explaining the rp's school system. Very helpful.I ask a lot of questions, I know, but it's to make sure I don't bugger things up and it helps any future ideas and plans.
In regards to Persona abilities I do intend to allow people to access everything except Mudo and Almighty spells.
Almighty I might unlock a lot later in the RP though.
Did mention this before but Mudo/Hama aren't OHKO's, Mudo=Agi but for dark; and will be used predominantly by enemies.
So to answer your questions directly, yes you will have access to buff/debuff and all the status ailments.
Fusion spells however won't come in to play. However I don't mind people working together and using their spells in quick succession.
Agidyne+Garudyne to propel the fire faster etc. If you want to be all anime-like and shout out your super special spell then by all means xD
As for questions I'm glad to be asked them. And I'm not just saying that. I know a lot of GM's get a bit prissy when players ask questions, but it actually helps ME as well as you. Didn't even think of how I wanted to run the school week until you asked xD And the more info we have, the easier it'll be to RP right?
Anyway just got back from Christmas shopping, about to die xD
Can't be bothered cooking so I'll probably just mosey down to the local fish&chip shop or something xD

Me: Oh I've got a job, I've just been forced to stand around and watch a certain girl shop for the last 6 hours. Profit? Zero. In fact had to buy her shit so it's more of a loss.
