For the interested and mostly for you Arbirus, I'm thinking Mastrix to have declaired a festival of the art and maybe between playing his art in the street and spending his nights in an inn that also serves as a traitor's nest, his art could, for the better and worst, have cought the attention of Mastrix who would want him to play for her, maybe even fall in love with him.

Telion and Black Bob are accepted. With that, I agree. I think we are ready to start. Shall we go with the idea of Mastrix declaring an arts festival? I think that's a good way to get our characters started in one place. I'm also implementing the idea that Mastrixenburg and Cedarburg have grown to the point of overlapping. I'll be accepting characters for a little while more, but soon I'll declare the RP full.

I'm assuming by arts, it's painting, etc and not magical arts. I've seen a few settings where they call magic, "the arts." Either way it sounds fine to me, though Aries will just be wandering around, haha.

I'm thinking someone using the festivities to maybe stir a riot, assassinate a dragon or burn down some parts of cedarburgs to destroy the baracks containing draconic footsoldiers.

Thx Lydyn, your's was pretty good, as was Tomaru's. I think they all catch well the spirit of the populace that, while being festive, still feel the presence of their overlord in the palace.

Btw, Mastrixenburg's guards are mainly humans and somewhat interested to keep the peace more than anything, with the ocasional ones that abuse their powers of course. The core of the guard is made of knights that won the various joustes and tournaments held by Mastrix, the prize for the winner being, other than money, an estate and the right to become part of The Favored. I'd say even them would be pretty tolerant of everything, the worst crime in general being to vandalize the city, especially sculptures and the likes, or to talk crap about Mastrix. (Crap about other dragons in general, they'll just give a tap on the shoulder ask them to stop, if they don't... they become a public disturbance and are dealt with)

On the other side, the Storm Dragons would have their usual combo of elder, lesser and Nexgarians. It's at our DM's discretion I should say.

Oi, I'm about to unload some politix in this OOC.

So Mastrixenburg is pretty f*cking huge. Someone mentioned before that the dragons wouldn't want her having so much power so near the capital, but here is the bombshell. Since she's unintentionally (or maybe very intentionally) curried the favor (or at least a more willing obedience) of the populace, the dragons' refusal to take her down or try to change aspects of her rule of Mastrixenburg comes from their perception of her popularity among the "lesser races." They know they could not do anything overt without inciting a revolt, and even though they would easily win this (or would have before recent events) war, lives would still be lost unnecessarily and peace is far easier and more pleasurable to all but some war hawks (Volcanic Dragons, I'd venture to say). Likewise, humanity accepts her rule 1. Because it is better than it could be, and everybody wants to be Favored, because you know you want to be a dragon person, don't even try to deny it. If there was a way to be a dragon-thing-person in real life, you can bet there would be a cult devoted to attaining this. And 2. Because people aren't stupid. They know the relative freedom they enjoy is based on the dragon's perception of her power and favor among the people. And 3. If they don't love her, she will breathe at them and they will die. That's the simple answer.

HOWEVER.

The politics of the land are changing, I doubt anyone will contest me when I say the dragons know of the rebellious sentiments in the land. They also understand the implications of Mastrixenburg's geopolitical importance and its possible status as a harbor for many who would try to destroy the dragons. So, there are all kinds of wheels turning. The relationship between her and other Draconic overlords is likely changing pretty rapidly in these privileged times.

Anyway, just some thoughts. CMIIW.
