In the interests of it being the 21st of December, would anyone be interested in a game based around the Shadowrun games?
The idea, for those of you who haven't heard, is a mash-up of fantasy and cyberpunk. In the Shadowrun world, around 2012 was when magic started coming back into the real world, which is sometimes called the Sixth World now. Dragons appeared and started running stuff; a dragon was even elected President of the United States and Canada. Spells started working and spirits turned out to be totally real again. Around ten percent of the human population either were born as, or started being turned into metahumans (elves, dwarves, orcs and trolls). But technology didn't just stop. Now it's 2074, bionic and cybernetic enhancement technology have sped ahead, becoming relatively affordable to the man on the street. Cyberspace makes virtually anything possible, as long as you have the skills and steer clear of the rogue AI's, and physical money is all but a memory. But, this being cyberpunk, sovereign governments are becoming increasingly irrelevant, and instead the mega-corps rule.
The players would be the titular "shadowrunners", shadow operatives and elite criminals who make their living (as their name suggests) in the shadows. They are hackers, or assassins, or negotiators, renegade mages or more. They work for anonymous clients, called Johnsons, who might be corporate executives, government agents or other wealthy individuals - even crime bosses - who need a problem solved that they can't do themselves for whatever reason. Runners take the big risks, they do what no-one else can and they do it with freedom that's virtually unheard of in the Sixth World.
What do you think?
Well, it would probably start off with a kind of heist or another job that a Johnson hires the PCs to do. Something like breaking into a corporation to steal proprietary secrets, or to 'aggressively recruit' some wunderkind... Runners are pretty mercenary so it would make sense for them to be doing almost anything!
I'd like to try! I like Shadowrun but never got the chance to play!
IMPORTANT: I seem to be a trouble magnet recently. So please, unless I contact you or I'm in an RP with you, just leave me alone. Please.
Oh wow, Shadowrun... Wow, I am so interested!

I am potentially interested.
“Enemies of the Imperium, hear me. You have come here to die. The Immortal Emperor is with us and we are invincible. His soldiers will strike you down. His war machines will crush you under their treads. His mighty guns will bring the very sky crashing down upon you. You cannot win. The Emperor has given us his greatest weapon to wield. So make yourselves ready. We are the Imperial Guard, and your doom is upon you. "
People have a tendency to drop from RPs before they start or in the very beginning so closing the RP before character sheets are even up is not usually a good idea unless you know everyone involved is sure to stay.
