Attempt at a Sci-Fi epic

I've been out of action on here for a few months, and have decided to try and start a new RP. The title should hint at what I want to start.

With this whole 2012 thing that has now passed us, for some reason I started looking into Warhammer again. Now, this won't be a Warhammer 40K RP, but it will be somewhat similar. How similar, you'll see in a few moments.

A well known doomsday prophecy talks of the anti-christ coming down to Earth which then starts his seven year rule, which is followed by a war between the armies of God and Satan. Do I have that right? Oh well, if not, then I should have the idea and someone can correct me on that.

Here's the idea: In the far, far, far future, talks of Armageddon have been talked about amongst people as they always have. And like always, there are those who believe in them, and those who don't. Preachers talk of a specific date, and specific events leading up to them. Armageddon will come when a portal opens in the sky, making way for the forces of evil to descend onto Earth. You see where Warhammer 40K is worked onto here? Chaos linger in the portal right? And of course the forces of evil are lead by this incredibly strong leader. On the good side, people await for the savior that will lead the army of good to victory against the army of evil. But he never seems to come. Regardless, the soldiers of Earth all unite together to fight the common enemy. Although without the leadership that the evil ones have, their unity keeps them strong. As the war wages on, some soldiers look to preachers for morale. It turns out that preachers have a secret power, and that is some kind of foresight. Now this foresight is somewhat limited. They can't tell you who the winners of the war will be, but there are remnants of the future in which they can see. And what they all see and tell those who seek them is that the Savior is within their ranks and will reveal himself at some point. Once again, their limited foresight can't tell them if it will be enough to stop the forces of evil. It probably will since that's the way it always ends up right?

So basically the purpose of the RP is to beat the evil demons that come down and try to take over the Earth. It'll be Sci-Fi based since weaponry of the future has some pretty bad-ass stuff. If it gets running, we can all start as a group of soldiers all at the same area, and fight as it goes, or it can be more spread out, and we post on the sort of day-to-day events of the war, or it can go both ways.

As far as characters go, it'll pretty much be up to you. However, it will be nice to have people cover what is needed which are the soldiers which will be human, the demons, the demon leader, the preachers, and the eventual Savior. This doesn't mean that if you want to join, you need to play one of each.

I think a pack of us in a company would work best. We have the unifying commonality of all working for 'the forces of good' without five pages of getting to know you.

That'll probably be best. I want to get at least three more people interested before creating the OOC.
