“I don’t doubt that Leon. But you almost died on me...” She spoke simply screwing the lid back on as she finished with the water. It was definitely refreshing. “You seem to worry more about me, don’t because as you can see...I’ve made due so far. Once I manage to get all this under control it’s gonna be completely different.” Amelia’s voice was determined. She moved closer to Leon and watched the fire lick at the flesh of the cooking rabbit. She sighed. “Do you think we’ll be getting out of here any time soon?” Looking at him she smirked sadly. “I don’t think help is coming so we’ll probably have to find a way out ourselves.” She swallowed hard, her eyes returning to the fire. Memories returned to her, when she was in the cell, when she killed Rothchild, the bastard. The setup...the rage that filled her when she hadn’t truly found Leon. Selene...“You were wrong...” She said and turned to face him again. “About Selene...and I was right about Rothchild...I was right about both of them.” She smirked and shook her head returning her gaze to the bright embers. “I’ve always trusted my gut, and everyone would always go against it. Then when I’m right...” She shrugged. “People look at me with regret. All I can really do or say is I told you so.” Amelia chuckled. “Trust me next time?” She asked. “Maybe we won’t end up like this.”

A sigh escaped her. “What was I like...before this new me came to be?” She asked Leon and looked at him again. “I have some memories and images but they don’t seem to be enough. Am I still like that? From what I gathered; a crude, heartless, bitch?” She looked at the stone floor then back to the fire. She could help but think about the bitch part being slightly, literally true. She was, technically, partially a dog. A small giggle escaped her. “I am partially a literal bitch...” She snorted. “Wow...”

He reached forward and took the cooked rabbits off of the fire. He handed her one of the sticks and bit into his. He was quiet for a few moments as he remembered her from before being brainwashed. "You were actually not that bad. A definite flirt, tough and brave. You were also crazy, like, you'd jump off of a roof for kicks. So, you really aren't that different, besides the flirting. And I know I was wrong, but at first I wasn't. That much I know. Something changed in her at some point, and she must have switched because of it...first thing in the morning...so...noonish...we'll head out and see if we can find some civilization." Seeing nothing that she could use as a pillow, he took off his overshoot and folded it into a small pillor for her. Smiling, he let her use it. "You can have the first few hours of sleep. I'll keep watch. Next time, and there will be a next time, I'll trust you." He got up and got the old stool that the WWII soldiers used to use. It was folded up and still in great condition. He opened it up next to the fire and sat down, listening to the crackle of the fire.

He thought back to when he was running back to the base. He did see a road leading away from the base. If they followed that road, they could hit a store pretty quickly. Might even be able to score a vehicle on the way. If they had an ATM of some sort in town, he'd be able to reconnect with his funds and they could catch a plane or get a car to head back south. Maybe even contact Ladour, Alison and Alex as well and meet up, rebuild. If they were still on their side...Selene's betrayal had him paranoid that the others were the same.

Six hours later, when it was actually morning.

Leon didn't sleep, instead choosing to let her sleep instead. He got out of his own clothing and put on the Dangoro Operative suit. It was just like his old one, only worlds stronger. The gloves electrified when he made a fist. It enhanced his strength, speed, and prowess. The tactical cloak could work without the helmet and it hid everything detectible about him. Scent, heat, breath, sounds.

Once he was suited up, he poked Amelia to wake her up. They had to get on the road.

Amelia groaned as she was bothered, her sleep disrupted. “No...Five minutes...” she muttered. “Close the door...” She complained and turned around as she felt the cold, brisk air on her skin. Exhaling she smiled ready to fall asleep once again. The smile disappeared as she sighed and grunted with a frown. Realizing and remembering where she was she sat up. Her back towards Leon as she brought her knees up, wrapping the blanket around herself as tightly as possible. Bothered by her nudity she hung her head slightly. “Is there anything for me to wear?” She asked and turned her head to the side, her eye catching Leon. “We’re in Alaska, I have to wear something. It’s not the fact that I’m cold, it’s the fact that...well it’s not right.” She looked around the cave hoping to spot something that she could pull on.

Seeing the clothes laying next to the fire she reached over and grabbed them. Pulling on the T-shirt, followed by the jeans she stood up, a small issue. “The pants won’t stay up. Your belt is too big for me...” She said and slipped into his boots which were also rather large for her. Holding the pants up she looked at Leon. “Is there any rope in this place?” She asked and made her way to the soldiers. Hopefully there was some rope, cause she wasn’t ready to walk around with no pants on.

Stifling back a laugh, he went to the skeletons in the back and searched through their rucksacks, finding a relatively long rope used for climbing. He handed it to her and went to the entrance of the cave and dug them a way out. They packed up what they could and headed out, using the sun to see where east was, they headed for the road Leon saw hours ago. It wasn't that far and the road would no doubt lead to a town nearby since Leon knew that Crynet almost always situated their bases near a town of some sort to make it easy to buy supplies. It also provided an easy stream of...test subjects.

Coming out of the forest around twenty minutes later, their faces were decorated in shock when they saw the road. They got down behind a few bushes to wait for them to pass. On the road, traveling away from the base in the distance, was a huge convoy of Black and White APCs, Transport Trucks and TANKS. Leon didn't even know Crynet were licensed to manufacture tanks. And these ones were bigger than the tanks used by the military, these ones having two main barrels and four sets of treads with guns poking out the sides. By the time the line ended, around forty different vehicles passed them, half of them being those huge tanks. They looked at each other, terrified of what they were using those weapons for. They walked along the forest edge instead of walking on the road out of paranoia that another convoy would roll through.

It was a full hour before a small town came into view on the horizon, meaning they were a little under a half hour away from being able to get home. Leon figured that it would be another few days before Amelia transformed again out of hunger, giving them more than enough time to settle in, contact their hopefully still alive friends, find a way to get to their friends, then take Crynet down.

    Forty Five minutes later...

To say the town was "Dingie" would be an understatement. The sign next to the road, which branched off just before the town entrance which is where the convoy went, said "Welcome to Cantabary, Alaska! The home of the northern lights!" Sure, the northern lights MAY appear here, but this town was garbage.

They walked into town to find it relatively empty. Houses were everywhere with shades drawn and doors shut. Sidewalks were left without shoveling and There was a small hotel at the entrance where there was also an ATM for Leon to check if he still had expenses.

They went for the hotel and to the ATM, but it was busted. Heading inside, they found that the hotel was empty. A "Back in ten" sign was on the counter, but it was dusty, meaning it had been much longer than ten minutes. Having the place to themselves, they stole a key off of the keyrack and found the room that went with it.

They found that the door that "Belonged to them" was left open, clothing strewn on the ground and a Laptop left open on the table. Leon sat down at the table while Amy did her thing. He was able to get on right away, the Laptop belonged to a "Kaleb Rickton" but it was as if he hadn't been here in days. Weeks even. The room was nice, but the question remained. Where was everybody?
