This calls for a drink *swigs*

I just realized that it is the 23rd, a Sunday. Quite a good Sunday too, and not as in it should be good whether I want it or not, nor that the weather is good, not even that this particular Sunday is good. I say it is good because we survived the Apocalypse. How and why? The Doctor, that is why. He saved us all, and that my fellow spammers, calls for a drink! *takes a swig*

I swear, I'm not looking for a reason to drink.

I actually liked Dr. Who until I met the fanbase.

    For Christ's sake...

I agree with Toellner. I somewhat liked Doctor Who, but any liking I had for it was dashed by the rabid fanbase.

Despite the fanbase, I still like Doctor Who.

The fanbase just takes all the joy out of it, and talk about it so much, it's pointless to watch it.

Same with homestuck, mlp, and other things.

Aren't you the guy that just made a status about Doctor Who on Facebook?

This is exactly what I fail to put into words. I used to watch the black and white stuff years ago with my grandfather, then it died down a little but here. When it became a popular subject again recently... just, Jesus Christ, these people scare me. They're the kind of people that give off the impression that they'll stab you if you disagree with them.

    I know, right?

I mean, I'm a fan of Trek, and we kind of invented the 'Fandom' thing, but still... This is just ridiculous.

Indeed. I'm a fan of Warhammer, but I don't shove it in the world's face like these people. Every other post/thread is 'WHOOO SHERLOCK!' or 'FUCK YEAH, DOCTOR WHO!'. Dear god.

I enjoyed watching Doctor Who, but not enough that I would consider myself a 'Whovian' by any stretch of the word. (It's a bit too silly when all is said and done for me to take it that seriously.) On a scale of one to ten of how much I liked that show, I'd probably put myself at a 6 or a 7. (There were some fun plots, I liked some of the actors, there was some good writing once Moffat took over and I did feel a certain amount of sadness when certain characters either died or moved on.. But, aside from periodically wanting some entertainment that really required no thinking whatsoever, I was sort of indifferent about it.)

Star Trek, on the other hand, I'd be more inclined to consider myself a 'fan' of.

I don't go around posting threads about Trek every five seconds like people do with Doctor Who.

I don't even like Sherlock. I preferred the books myself.
