And I will whisper, "No."
Looking for a collaborative partner
I hope this is where this thread belongs, I didn't think it belonged in any of the interest check sections, as this is a roleplay that is soon to be in development.
I'm looking for a partner who is willing to collaborate with me in creating a story for an Advanced Fallout roleplay. I need someone who has extensive knowledge of the Fallout fiction and will be able to correct me in any errors I make in creating the story and backdrop, and be able to help me create a reasonable and feasible future in the Fallout universe that manages to resemble my original vision. I have a multitude of ideas and mechanics for the roleplay that I think would not only be interesting in the fiction but would also be captivating in the roleplay medium.
My partner will be a partner in every sense of the word, meaning I will obviously accept any and all feedback regarding the story, backdrop, and mechanics and will have equal say in its development. Any disagreements I would like to be resolved with peaceful and just compromise, and I would like the person to be patient and willing to accept that due to the tribulations and difficulties of life outside the roleplaying community that the roleplay may very well take time. I would also like someone to be patient about the fact that my knowledge of the Fallout universe is limited to only what I've played of the Bethesda published titles, including a very sizable portion of Fallout: New Vegas and its add ons and only partial knowledge of the story of Fallout 3 with no knowledge of its add ons.
I'm extremely intrigued and engaged by the Fallout universe and I would like to learn about it along the way as we create the project. I vow to reciprocate all of the courtesies that I ask of my partner, including but not limited to patience and openness to compromise. While the goal of the roleplay is my vision, by becoming a part of this project you are in turn entitled to negotiate the terms and characteristics of this vision and I am open to changing it. If for any reason you must drop out of this project, I understand perfectly and will not think less of you for it, and if I haven't found a new partner by then the doors to this project will still be open to you if you wish to pick it back up again in future. I look forward to working with you.
This recruitment method will not be a "first come first serve" method, but I will routinely check this thread to scope out the candidates. I don't believe that's fair for those who would've been very interested in this project but did not have the ability to because they were at work, out doing things for the holidays, etc. I'd ask that you all give your experience with the Fallout universe, with roleplaying, or with anything that would make you a helpful partner.
Lastly, I am far more lax than I am actually displaying in this post. While I'd really like to have a successful roleplay for once, I don't want to take this too seriously, and the project's pace will be at whatever pace it happens to be. I'm not even sure how long it will take to have it ready for an OOC/Interest Check. It may take a great deal of time or a very small amount of time. I just know that I'd like it done eventually, I'm going to need help with it, and that I'd like to have fun doing it.
Any takers?
