Name: Zenith Ignatis
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Height: 5'11”
Weight: 185 lbs
Appearance: Pale with a slightly oily complexion, Zenith is of slim build, with an evenly muscled figure, more smoothly toned than bulked. Often wearing dark clothing, he walks as swiftly and silently as possible while retaining his good posture.
Head: Stubbornly reacting to people teasing him, Zenith has grown his dark brown hair. It is now long enough to be tied back in a pony-tail which reaches the underside of his shoulder blades. His eyes are an even darker brown, so dark they appear black unless viewed in direct light. Although his cheeks are slightly convex, his jawline is strong enough to avoid an appearance of weakness. With an expressive brow and bridge for his nose, Zenith's face appears tired even when simply at rest, in default position. Noticeable bags sag under his eyes, as if lacking sleep.
Torso: Slim, straight, slender. Zenith has worked hard to keep healthy as much as possible, and although he prefers the training of the mind, he will often spar hand to hand with others. Years of such training has produced a body with quick reflexes, as well as the proper mobility to execute them. Zenith wears slightly baggy clothing, often donning a tight black T-shirt underneath a hooded, slightly baggy dark green coat, the brim of which ends mid-thigh. The coat has both zipper and buttons. There is a small scar slightly under his third rib up on his left side.
Arms: Zenith has a tattoo on his right wrist; a circle with an oak tree inside it. It spans three inches in diameter overall. On his left wrist he wears a black and silver coloured wind-up watch which is wound every morning after waking up.
Legs: Dark Grey cargo pants are Zenith's favourite to wear, regardless of season or occasion. There is usually a folding pocket-knife inside his front right pocket for basic utility, while a 3.5 inch fixed blade rests in a leather sheath on his rear right side on on his belt, for less desirable circumstances. In the pouch pockets reside a small leather-bound book, a mechanical pencil loaded full of lead, and a stick of charcoal, kept inside it's own draw-string bag. While preferring to be shoeless indoors, Zenith will wear hiking shoes over-top of black socks.
History: Born in the bustling city Ceteris, Zenith's father, an architect for the city, and his mother, a passionate artist, raised the boy to be curious and creative. The duality of his upbringing allowed him to see matters in a balanced, unbiased context while retaining his own identity. Because of his father's position in the city, the fact that the Ignatis family were all Gifted was ignored by those the fact couldn't be hidden from, a notion helped along by the fact that Zenith had no idea that he was gifted until a later age.
Sometime after his 12th birthday, Zenith's dreams became lucid to the extent that he could control every aspect of them. He began to play god in his own world, and unwittingly pulled other dreamers into that world with him. As he became older, he found that he could view and 'edit' his dreams in real time around him even while awake, and allow other people to see them as well. However, the latter had only happened by accident, and on occasion, with his father.
Eventually, when Zenith was 14, he was targeted by a group of anti-Gifted affiliates who recognized him from their dreams. After cornering him and beating him, Zenith acted out in self defense, electrocuting and killing one of the men, while the others were distracted by hallucinations.
Zenith, afraid and worried of the repercussions, ran home to seek advice from his father. Together, they came to the conclusion that the family as a whole would suffer because of the backlash, including Zenith's little sister, who was just beginning to get over a deadly illness. Panicked, Zenith offered to move out of town to protect the family; Zenith's father instead suggested that he attend the Academy in order to properly understand and control his Black Mage abilities. In the meantime, his father would use connections with the city to make sure that if the incident ever came to light, the family would be unaffected.
Personality: Because of his constant dream-state, Zenith may often come across as rather air-headed when not dedicated to a given task. Friendly when approached, he is not one to start a fight, and would rather leave a situation than fight at all. However, Zenith will not hesitate to defend himself or those he cares about with force. Not being the type to pass by someone in need, he enjoys listening to others talk about themselves and their lives, offering advice. Insightful and thoughtful, Zenith has no problems goofing off when he has time to spare, often inviting others into his 'Dream-State' with him, including non-telepaths.
Zenith Ignatis is a pessimist at heart, with a consciously optimistic outlook on life in general. He'll often say that 'Expect the worst, hope for the best,' is his motto for life, but it was originally coined by his father. A daunting fear is death; having taken a personal interest in the mechanics of life, he has taken an interest in the Human study of Biology. He views his personal hell as one in which he cannot think, nor be self-aware. Zenith will be the first to admit he 'thinks too much,' such as planning out events unnecessarily, a habit that originated from being able to control his dreams. He enjoys sketching in his spare time, especially when he's trying to show a non-telepath, or perhaps someone who doesn't want their mind influenced via telepathy, something he has made, seen or thought of.
Powers: Telepathy/Black Mage. A Telepath whose powers grow exponentially while sleeping, he finds that he is unable to prevent seeing others in his dreams, meaning his ability constantly seeks others out.
If sleeping during the day, Zenith finds it useful to cause hallucinations around conscious people in order to communicate with them. Because of how comfortable he is with his telepathy, he is attending the Academy in order to sharpen his Black Mage abilities.
