    Aforementioned newguy thread. T3

First thing I want to say is: Don't feel like you can't join in, just don't arrive and be TOO disruptive to the flow of the scene.
    OOC discussion

In the reaches of the former Peorthan Empire, a grassy field waves its grass lazily; the wind brushing its hand across the long stalks of grass and through the sparse shrubs and trees alike, playing and dancing peacefully. The wind itself is cool, despite the mid-spring heat, thanks to coming from the south-western mountain peaks. The field is cut in pieces by a fairly wide road, the cobbled segment snaking off to the west, and branching off in many directions as mere overtrod dirt. The roads all converge around a break in the natural peace; a dark stone crag jutting out of the ground, all that remains of an old fortress. The ruin is built on the very edge of a tall gorge, the bottom of which holds a rapidly-flowing river, white water crashing along the rocks at the base and the tower erected as a bridge keep in the middle of the gorge.

TenHass sat on the top of a ruined wall, overlooking the field and getting a whiff of the cool wind. They carried with them the smell of rain, soft rain completely unlike the small slivers of ice that passed for rain in the homeland. TenHass chuckled at recalling his once-home; the changes within that marked him as both a traitor and a monster; both wrong accusations but made nontheless. Despite the harshness of the political climate, he still fondly remembered those ashen isles, and despite the harshness of the weather, he had thrived. He slowly ran his hands across a fresh-sculpted Saparra, he preferred to 'forge' his weapons with a view.
There was word of a lot of brigands and opportunists around lately. And TenHass was here to make sure his adopted home was free of raiders, though he was confident they couldn't do much to the people in the town on the other side of the gorge, his own safety was less assured, and he was making sure to be prepared.

Approaching the wall TenHass sat on would be a girl likely around the age of 15 approaching him. The red dress apparrall she wore would make her stand out from a ways away as well as the large hat covering most of her forehead. She appeared to be unarmed and from the dirt on her clothes traveling a long time. Her hair and cape draped down blowing in the wind seemed to mesh together. After a while it would become obvious she was heading directly towards him. Once she reached 20 meters away she would stop and speak "Be ye the demon that disturb the air."

TenHass, observing the young girl walking to the ruin, quickly picks up his new-forged Sappara and sheaths it. He packs the tools of forging and touches a pair of fingers to the bowl of Resin he had with him, feeling it and its state, and slowly puts it to sleep and lets it freeze.
"Be ye the demon that disturb the air?" The voice rings clear over the quiet.
TenHass looks over his shoulder, unarmoured and barely armed. A quiet chuckle escapes his lips as he hops down the rubble of the outside wall. Though his form is half obscured by his clothing, typical of UthAkrean garb, the sure measure with which he moves and his frame give no hope of dispelling the question asked of him.

He walks to the girl, only a year or two younger than Elise, furrowing his brow and curling one side of his mouth up. He stops about 5 meters apart from her.
"There... there are a lot of old fears in this place. Yes, I may have caused them, but only in acts of war. And this-" He reaches for a belt strap holding the new Sappara and sheath, unhooking it and proffering it forward handle-first. "- Is a strange place to meet unarmed travelling young women such as yourself."
His half-smirk slides away into a cold yet genteel mask. No emotions betrayed, but his dark eyes darting over her, taking in the dirt of travel on her clothes and the posture and poise of her. Reaching out mentally to see if she was like him, but hiding behind a guise like he forsook years ago.
"So, you're here and you recognize my nature, what happens now?"

Another girl, a tad younger then the one in red, was also in the area, prowling around in the tall grass with a large grin on her face. She was on a mission, but she was also having fun while she was at it, like a cat hunting her prey out of entertainment. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to say that she was like a dragon hunting her prey...or even more specifically a half dragon. Sprouting from her bare back was a set of small, lime green wings and a tail that was playfully swiping around at the surrounding grass as if she was a lawn mower. Two ivory colored horns about the size of her thumbs extended upwards from beyond her messy, light purple hair that clearly hadn't been fixed up in weeks. Keeping with the dragon motif was a suit of bikini armor made to look like dragon scales of the same color as her dragon inherited body parts, yet it was actually made out of metal. She despised restrictive clothing, which most often meant any clothing at all, but as far as clothing went she didn't mind this outfit too much. It left her back open for her wings and tail to maneuver and it made her look even more awesome then normal, as the women who gave her that outfit told her. Who was she to doubt such a well founded opinion such as that? Besides her dragon body parts, the rest of her was that of a human girl, slightly pale despite all the time she spent outside, and her muscles not looking anything out of the ordinary despite containing vastly superior physical abilities over any normal human. At her full potential she's believed to easily rival the dragons, but as of now she is just a kid, luckily for her opponents. Still, most people couldn't handle her even as she is now. Contrary to her vast power is her soft and innocent looking face, besides her cat-like eyes which could sometimes show just a hint of animosity on rare occasions, as if the dragon side of her was still in there somewhere waiting to be unleashed.

With her enhanced vision she was able to spot her target and the girl in red at a ruined wall. He appeared to be preoccupied with her, so she wondered if she could continue "sneaking" over to him. With no long ranged attacks, at best being able to blow fire out around eight feet, she'd have to get up close and personal with him before being able to do anything. She tucked her playfully moving tail and wings back down against her body so that they were no longer poking up to reveal her location so easily before she began moving forward again. Even if she reached him without incident, she'd hold off doing anything until she got a chance from the red clothed girl, as much as she hated waiting on others. This man was supposed to be tough, so she was told not to just rush in like usual.

Areo became quite amused by him, mostly because he didn't understand how she could recognize him so he thought she was unarmed. It was quite surprising to her in fact to the point were it took her a second to come up with a witty remark. After stumbling for words at the mans ignorance she decided upon a course of action, "I am not unarmed sir. Although one such as yourself may not have deduced it, the mind is a very powerful weapon." She said as she lifted her hat brandishing the tattoo on her forehead, which appeared to be a crescent moon pointing up with three blades coming out of it the middle one being a halberd and the other two being swords. This was the sign of the Vashete family of witches and warlocks, although if he could not recognize it he would more then likely recognize it as some sort of witch family insignia. She herself hated to brandish the insignia, but if it was to educate the masses she'd be more then willing. She now was presented with the question of her purpose and stated "I'd like to believe your words are true, but men like you never change. I can say i know this quite well from personal experience, but that story is much longer then I have time for. Perhaps I'll tell you if we both live till morn, but for now what do you think is going to happen." She said hoping he was right and he had changed.

His suspicions confirmed, TenHass did not deflate nor did he tense.
Why would he? It was exactly what he expected this girl to be here for; and though she was - refreshingly - willing to talk rather than dive into a fray from the start, something else was amiss.
Her magical nature was a surprise though. He sensed something off of her, but an order of soulknives?
    Wait.
Soulknives. Zjhieral. Now he tensed, even though she didn't exude the aura of nothingness typical of a Zjhieral.
He thrust his perception outward as far as he could, taking in the grass and the earth itself, making sure no other assailants were... And they were... Coming up to him. The other had the scent of Jurak, which considering a human was their collaborator, couldn't mean well for him.
TenHass returned all sense to himself, sure that by now he was seeming rude.

"Then call it a gift." he said suddenly, tilting the Sappara twice for emphasis. "For your civility, rare as it is. And I know the mind is a powerful weapon, as do all of my kind. The invisible arts..."
He mentally reaches out to her, tendrils of being sliding around her mind, looking for purchase. He finds a grip and continues the sentence mentally... are natural to us.
He shakes his head and holds it in his free hand as he withdraws.
"I meant no offense, but I didn't expect to see so... rare.. a gift in the hands of one such as yourself. And though you're willing to be circumspect about it, I'd say you're fairly insistent on conflict."
Whether or not she has taken the Sappara by now, TenHass steps back and draws Mlorta, the only weapon he has at this time. Letting it hang loosely from his left hand, and focuses on himself now, using the tools of the invisible arts to build a kind of inertial armour around himself. Unseeable, but there.

(Edit: Just so you can see what kind of thing is being proffered:
    Spoiler
    It's about Short-sword in length.)

"Grr...all talk no fight is so boring," Evvie thought to herself as she squatted inside her supposed "hiding place" near the ruined wall inside of a large flower patch. While she was down there she noticed a colorful bug, so she decided to play with it with her fingers while she waited, using her index and middle fingers like legs walking around. "I destroy you!" She taunted in a whisper, pretending to give it her all by smashing at it with her index finger as it if was her foot. The bug scurried out of the way just in time to dodge her opening attack. She let out a grin. "You bug scum! You not get away again!" By now her voice had risen excitedly as she was really getting into it, probably loud enough to put her within audible range of the man who she was supposed to be hiding from. Her tail flicked up above the grass as she "chased" after it and gave a couple more stomps of her finger, but to no avail as the bug managed to dig underground. "Cheater! Cheater! Pants...pants on...whatever." She exclaimed, trying to remember some sort of human expression but forgot exactly how it went. It was then that she remembered that she was supposed to be hiding. Covering her mouth, she flopped back down onto her belly and closed her eyes. "Stupid bug. No distracting, please."

As he entered Areo's mind he would soon find him self in utter darkness at first he may be confused, but would soon figure out why it was so dark. As he would begin speaking he would more then likely be trapped by Areo's raw psychic force derived from being a witch. If caught the power would seem enormous nearly crippling the force he had in his mind to nothing. The figure would take that of a young girl nearly half Areo's age yet the size of a giant in comparison to Tenhass. Meanwhile in the physical plane Areo would now begin her monologue "Who be ye to think you have the permission to enter thee, the spawn of Lilith, the hunter of demons. Nothing but a criminal waiting to be executed." She would she say as she reached behind her a halberd made of the same energy that would be attacking his mind would come up. Meanwhile the creatures grip would loosen for a second. Continuing if he was not able to escape by now, she would say "How would you be deemed. As far as I say, guilty!" She would then come down over her head with the axe in a horizontal slash creating a wave of raw destructive energy headed his way, although a opportunity to break out would be obvious at this point he may not be able to escape in time.

The magnitude of the darkness and presence in her own mind was to be expected, it was, after all, her territory and able to be shaped how she wished.
He lasted only as long as it took to say the rest of his sentence and retreated, knowing what was in store for him. Though he now knew her own Psionic power was considerable, she still considered him as capable as the average human being.

He saw her manifest an incandescent poleaxe at the same time, bringing it to bear with the grace and ease only achievable when wielding a weapon that has no weight.
    So she's good.
He was standing still, admiring her skill far too long. He almost forgot to... *WOOSH* duck. He split his legs to the sides and crouched his torso low, feeling the wind splaying out in confused patterns in the wake of the ectoplasmic weapon. Wasting no time, he brought himself back to standing swiftly and resumed his stance.
I must be getting careless he mused, I actually went into her mind, rather than just send a missive. AND let myself be distracted. Oh well.
    But if Aero had followed him;
    Spoiler

"You insist on conflict, that is... unfortunate." He said outwardly as he drew the only weapon he had, letting the Sappara drop whether it was in her hand or not; gift as it was, it was not his any more.

He steps back, holding Mlorta in the hooped handle with his left hand, and places his right on its spine. He brings it close to his body, blade facing out, and steps wide into a low stance.
You are unarmoured, but so am I. He focuses on himself with the Invisible arts, feeling every part of his skin and clothing, knowing their senses and touch, he then pulls air from the surroundings and tightens it in a barrier of sorts around his body. A trick he was sure Aero was likely to know, the swords and halberd insignia saying she was trained in combat.
Criminal... If this poor girl only knew why. He smiles in a bittersweet fashion, and steps forward, lunging out with a thrusting attack, deliberately keeping the blow askew to the left.

(next time don't after post it made me mad although it was to slow to be in response to my post it annoys people unless it's quick, i changed mine to suit your post a little better.)

Areo had followed him back reading his mind now knowing if it came to a battle of physic magic she could easily crush him. So she listened in to his mental plan waiting to fight if he tried to kick her out, though he seemed more worried at the battle she was still fine with his choice. She swept his brain more like a river then invading it following the current and allowing the train of events still reading his thoughts. He himself had said it would be fatal but it made her mad so she reminded him she could cover his mind in the same white fire her spirit was made of, just that what he was doing physically was to important right now for her to try. She noticed his plan, but was slightly angered at a statement he had made that was in rhymes inside is own head. So she pulled back a energy spear to counter his plan waiting till he moved to go. She spoke to just before her plan was set into motion,"Now there's your dilemma, the light may seem evil, especially when your bombarded, and i can rhyme too, but it still sounds retarded," So as he had started running she had launched the spear at his chest, of all the magic raw energies wast her families best, and the magic itself highly unstable, but the control behind it made it a weapon quite able. She thought to herself and gave him a smirk. I hope he reads my mind, that jerk.
