Cool Skyrim: Ballad of the Bandit King (OOC)

30 years past after the Dragonborn left Skyrim. New smaller towns have sprouted around Skyrim, budding from the originals. Mostly farms, lumberyards, and/or fishing villages, but recently bandits have been raiding these "outer towns" destroying villages. Kidnapping women and children with the intent to sell into slavery. All of this is being done by one Man or Mer who calls himself "The Bandit King". Nobody knows what he truly looks like, or where he is hiding. The Emperor denies his existance, beliving that it is merely a rumor. so it is up to a group of individuals to destroy the man behind it all.... if he even actually exists....

PLEASE READ ALL THE GUIDELINES AND FOLLOW THEM.

-im leaning towards HIGH CASUAL so please at least 2 or 3 paragraphs please

-also aiming for slight realism. No power killing everything. 1vs1 you'll most likely win. 1vs2 is a challenge, and 1vs3 is suicide

-okay so new technology in Skyrim like crossbows, roman plumbing and waterways, throwing knives, spears, etc.

-magic is still in Skyrim but masters are very rare and hard to find. The college of winterhold still exists but is pretty much the only place that practices magic regularly.

-characters will be playing only "slightly higher than average" characters. Eliminating OP characters and emphasizing on teamwork.

-the beginning of the game will start with all of our characters in the same village right before it got raided by Bandits. If they were living there or not is up to you.

-players MUST have a profession that they did daily before the bandit raid on their village. There are PLENTY to choose from exe: farming, fishing, mining, lumberjack, blacksmith, boatmen, tradesmen, scholar etc. I'll accept sellswords and adventurers but if everyone picks that, Ill stop accepting.

-i need 6 DEVOTED players who post at least once or twice daily.

-if you read these guidelines, then please add "welcome to skyrim" under your CS.

Job/Profession: (Blacksmith, alchemist, hunter, fisherman, Sellsword etc)

Other: (anything special to note put here.)

    ----------------------------------

Okay we will be all starting in a nnewly built small village called Tearstead. It is right below Aivarstead and to the left of Lake Tear. Its mostly plains, with a lake to its right and mountains to the south. Its a newly built village with plenty of natural resources surrounding it. It is ex-stormcloak territory so imperials rarely come down this far. I provided a map above to help us out. I'll leave the ideas of the buildings and surroundings to you guys, so be creative and descriptive.

Basically we will do a line of intro posts of a basic normal day at the village. Then after everyone posts, the shit will hit the fan! I'm not assigning a post order, but please no ping-ponging. HAVE FUN!!!

lol I'll take that as I'm accepted then =P 'twas easy when all I had to do was pick a character from my own saves, I have a thorough background for all of them. Just had to adjust slightly to appeal to this RP and Tearstead.

Skyrim. A character off of Skyrim Nexus. I have it on Xbox, so unfortunately, it's not mine. But she is deadly and beautiful, like mine, none the less. The owner is using graphic and character mods on their game. But, I see what you mean. She easily could have come out of Dragon's Dogma, but the character behind her and the setting are Skyrim for sure

    Name: Thorin Silvermane.

    Age: 64

    Race: Nord.

Weapon: Custom One-Handed Sword, the last work of the late Greymane Mastersmith. The blade is simply called "Silveback". It's custom features is that it can never break. It looks like your typical Steel Long-sword, only with runes inscribed into it. The bottom of it's handle, there's a skull that has been dipped in silver, before attached to the handle.

    Skills:
Swordsman: Skilled in swordplay, one of the greatest bladesarms in the land, his skills with the blade is well renowned.
Hunter: A very skilled tracker, Vast knowledge of the wildlife of Skyrim, as well as off the monsters in it. An accomplished archer, dislikes Crossbows.
Speech: Not so much that he can talk his way out of anything, as he's a master of telling stories.
Mead-drinker: Probably the strongest liver in all of Tamriel.

Equipment: Usually, he's not wearing a whole lot. A ragged shirt, a pair of equally thorn pants, a pair of fur boots.
However, his battle-gear hold of a hybrid of Skyforge-Steel and Dragonbones. The Breastplate, with the Wolf-motive is of this mixed material, he usually only wears a Cloth or fur-hood on his bald head during battle. Under his Breastplate, there's Chainmail that sits tightly on his well built frame. Under it, directly on his skin, there's a set of comfortable Fur, to keep the cold away. Still, his arms are always without much protection, showing off his various War-painting. His gloves and boots are too of the same material as the breastplate, but they have the ensignas of the companions on them.

Job/Profession: Town-Drunk. Occasionally he teaches some poor soul some swordplay.

    Strengths/weaknesses:
Great Knowledge of animals / monsters.
Experience, epic fights in his past.
A Life of a Legend behind him, and the skills to coup.
    Tactician.

Old Age, his left knee is weakened because of battle with a dragon.
    Bad Temper.
    Little Patience.

Background: Born in Whiterun, he was already a man when the civil War began, fighting for the Stormcloaks, he earned a reputation as a war veteran. He was known as "Elf-Blade" at the age of 25. However, he became his own man after this, following the legends of the Dragonborn, and how he had slaughtered the evil dragon, Thorin was not one to perform lesser feats, as he was a 29 year old joined the companions, becoming the harbringer at the age of 40. During his time as a companion, he had denied the blood of the wolf, but he had also done incredible things, such as defeating the legendary Boar, whom was storming Whiterun's walls with his bare hands.

This was when he was given the blade SilverBack, by Eourlund. Skyrim's greatest smith's last blade, forged from the Skyforge untill it's flames faded down for the first time in centuries. Some claim that the entire soul of the Skyforge and the greymane clan was put into his blade, because of the shining color of the blade, he was renamed as Thorin Silvermane.

Despite grown into the middle-age, he was still as strong as a young adventurer, and that was when he was contacted by a man, one of the Blades, claiming that there was a dragon on the loose, and that Thorin was the only one who could be trusted to track and hunt the Dragon down. Thorin agree'd to take on the quest, taking a few of his most trusted shield-siblings with him.

They found the Dragon, Moutherax, a Red Dragon, as big as a castle. He was guarding a cave, what was inside of the cave, no one knew. The blade, Thorin and his company attacked the Dragon, it was a grand battle, a battle that was sung by the bards in the years to come. However, it was not a tale of victory. Even if they did kill the dragon, it was for a price maybe too high to pay. Thorin had been the only survivor, and he had gotten beaten within an inch of his life, before his blade had pierced through the skull of the Fire-breathing terror.

He sunk into deep depression, and despite that he used the rest of the dragon, as well as the materials from his Shieldbrother's armor to forge his new set of armor, saying that it was his greatest triumph, but also his greatest failure. He only used the armor once, before he resigned as harbringer, and moved to one of the new settlements.

Taking up Alcoholism, he was even stuck in Skooma for a while. His skills are still as legendary as ever, and his name is these days more of a legend told by the Greymanes, and in the halls of Jorrvaskr.

I think that's it for now.
It’s not on the menu, but might I suggest the ‘I got my ass kicked’ martini?

    Appearance:

    Name: Arsyn Mor'dur

    Age: 23

    Race: Dunmer

    Weapon: Orcish daggers

    Skills:
    • Intermediate teachings in Illusion and Destruction magic
    • Skilled assassin

    Equipment:
    • large satchel
    • dried meat
    • 2 small vials of posion
    • flask of water
    • spare change of clothing
    • 130 gold

    Job/Profession: Thief

    Strengths/weaknesses:
    • She is not very strong although her wiles make up for her lack of strength
    • Fast and agile
    • Untrusting and is quick to assume the worst of people
    • Enjoys listening to bards a bit more than is suitable

    Background:

    "Name him Arsyn, my love."
With these soft words, the life of a mother passed as another life was born. Arsyn came as a shock to the Mor'dur household in Morrowind. Instead of having a son, Gailei found himself with a daughter to raise. Hordir had been wrong once again; it was a shame that many Dunmer paid her for her birth predictions. As Gailei stared into his baby's face he saw strength and beauty within her. It only took a moment, and in that one moment, he realized that he loved his daughter with his soul and would always wish the best for his beautiful child.

In her early years, Arsyn was a happy Dunmer child. She visited her grandmother near the edge of the forest and learned much about Magic. Her grandmother had spent most of her younger years at the college in Winterhold. When Arsyn stayed the night, her grandmother Valele told her stories of the Dragonborn shouting dragons from the sky and saving entire towns from disaster as she stirred the broth over a warm fire. It was a happy childhood indeed.

Her grandmother would warn her from straying to far into the woods as she had more beauty than any other Dunmer before her. One would likely snatch her up never to be seen again. Arsyn minded this for the most part. But as all children will do, she eventually disobeyed Valele. In her 17th Frostfall, Arsyn snuck into the woods. Her heart and mind breathed in the scents and she felt home. Until the captors came, of course.
They snatched her by the hair and covered her mouth as they bound and beat her into unconsciousness.

As she lived in enslavement, she learned from other Dunmer slaves to control her Wrath and how to sneak to and from the kitchen when hunger arose. Being beaten and scarred for 3 years, the fire in her broke free. She managed to smuggle daggers from the Captain's quarters and practiced with another woman in the simple slave hut at the encampment. Eventually, Arsyn was able to assassinate the Captain and free the slaves. She knew with her demeanor and broken soul that she could never return to Morrowind. Instead, she began to travel and thieve when she needed items. For honest gold, she would be hired by thanes to assassinate enemies so they could have boasting stories in their long-halls. Her daggers and faith in Azura never let her down.

Other: Arsyn has a very dry sense of humor and normally keeps to herself. When there is a common cause to be fought for she is a strong team player. She has an extremely hard time trusting those around her, but when she does, it is to the death. War and killing are the only actions that Arsyn feels she can ever be certain of.

    Welcome to Skyrim.
