well, i've had this idea swimming in my head for a while..so here i go.

the year was 3012. humanity's technological advancement had hit an all-time high, and scientific explorations have traversed the world over, revealing historic secrets almost everyday.

all and all, it seemed to truly be mankind's golden age. war was nearly a relic of the past, as after the end of the war in Iraq there was no other rouge state willing to contend with the united states and it's allies.
years passed, and although there were wars; advances in technology and relations between nations ensured that these wars remained only as contained, isolated events.
by the five-hundredth anniversary of the end of the Iraqi war humanity hit it's greatest milestone. for on that day, for the first time in it's long history; humanity stood under one banner.

under the example of what good the united nations had done for the world, humanity cast aside the age of nations, and embraced the age of unity.
gone was the US, the UK. gone was the European union. gone was all the former nations.
in their place arose the human collective.

up till the current day, the collective and humanity lived in peace. but this thousand year harmony wasn't meant to last. deep within the earth itself, an ancient evil stirred. strange disappearances began plaguing the various major cities of the world. this situation rose to it's peak on December 21, 3011. an explosion shook the eastern seaboard of the former united states, vile creatures came from the rubble and waged war with man. our story begins on july 4, 3012. where a single message, beamed across the entire world from a source outside it has left humanity speechless.. the message? "you are not alone."

well, those and anywhere in-between. my intent for this is for it to be a multi-chapter RP so i suppose it would be high casual. the first chapter arc would involve our characters, through various methods attempting to cement a line of contact with the mysterious senders of the message, in hope of gaining an sorely needed ally in the war

This sounds very interesting indeed! I am definitely in. As for a name, something along the line of "3012: A Hope For Humanity" would sound cool.
