American Gods
I haven't read Neil Gaimen, or even this book , but it's ideas intrigue me. I'm starting this off like the other thread. Players start as re-imaginings of the gods of old. They came to America, anywhere from the old days of the Puritans, all the way to modern day. The consequences of coming here have been severe. Zeus is not capable of wiping out entire cities or countries with a single puff of his breath like he used to be, nor can Ares effortlessly fart atomic explosions for being the god of war, etcetera. However, they are still very beyond most Human ability to confront. These are weakened gods that are pale shadows of their former glory.
The antagonists of this age are emobidments of the Modern Era. Mostly electronics, computers, etcetera. Maybe even fictional embodiments of literature or media that have some how come to life. (Imagine, if you will, as if some Dungeons and Dragons deities came to life). Many of these deities are antagonistic towards the old gods. In fact, The Final Solution towards the old gods has been decided. You role play as either an old god or a sympathetic one in this role play, and try to survive the holocaust.
Meanwhile, in the supernatural world, there are witches, demons, werewolves, vampires and others that have their own opinions on these gods, both old and new.
