"I don't know what it's like at the Psion guild, but Summoners tend to be... extra friendly. There's hardly anywhere at the guild to be peaceful without at least someone trying to approach you." Summoners were nosy, plain and simple. Obviously not all of them since she was an example of that, but most of them were. She supposed it had something to do with social skills helping build better links with creatures of the 4th dimension. Although that was just a myth. A silly little rumor floating around to entice those who wanted more summons into being friendly with everyone. Unfortunately for her, it seemed because she was so determined to keep to herself she had been labelled the ultimate challenge, securing her irritation towards her classmates firmly in place.

Daiyu leaned back in her seat, diverging her eyes towards the scenery outside, "The name's Daiyu, I suppose we'll be seeing each other more often if this idea still comes to fruition."

Aqua sighed. She felt so antisocial, but that was her. She was also smart enough to stand up for herself. She said quietly "how much longer is this dreadful bus drive going to take?" She glanced over at the small group slightly. She brushed her hair out of her face for a second before brushing it back into place. No one would want to look at my face. Don't even try it. she kept hearing her 'parents' voices saying you're nothing, you're lower than dirt. She would rather the words than the pain. She closed her eyes.

Rocco sat outside the bus stop that was placed right in front of the main gates of the school. Rocco dug around in his pockets for a brief moment, before pulling out a pack of cigarettes. He shook the pack to confirm if there was anything in the pack before grabbing a cigarette and lighting it. Rocco took a deep pull from his cigarette before blowing out a cloud of smoke and a sigh. He knew that Kyo would be late from seeing his foster parents, but it shouldn't have taken this long. A source of his in the city had told him that there was going to be a large protest in the slums, but that shouldn't have blocked the transit system. If Ceretis was good about anything, it was making sure that people got in and out of the slums as fast as they could. Rocco looked down at his hand and tossed the butt of his cigarette into the street. "C'mon hurry up idiot! Damn it's not like I got all day." He said with a slight air of impatience.

Kyo grimaced at the thought of a newbie infiltrating their sparring rounds, although he had to admit that the only person's abilities that he could vouch for in this group were his own. For all he knew, Zenith was a barely disciplined amateur. His defense against the riot police seemed to indicate otherwise, however.
The pain in Kyo's arm started radiating outwards once again, causing him to grit his teeth together and dilating his sense of time: what was supposed to be a ten minute ride turned into an hour long adventure in agony. Eventually, just as it had arrived, the bus screeched to a halt and students began disembarking the vehicle. Kyo stood up with Zenith and barely managed to stumble out before a smile lit his face at the sight of his friend.
    "Miss me?" he asked weakly

Stepping off the bus with Kyo and Daiyu, Zenith heard Kyo greet his friend while the babble of students became a little louder; they may only be a half block from the school, but plenty of students who were close enough to walk did so. A steady stream of Gifted of various ages passed them by. Some joking around with each other, some hurriedly beginning to cloud their own thoughts as they got closer to the grounds, while yet others were in conversation with their Summons. There was a palpable sense of trepidation emitting from most of the first-year students, as they obviously had little idea where to go or when to be there.

Laughing a little to himself, Zenith observed a Summoned insect-looking creature carry his Summoner over another group of students, dropping pamphlets as they went. Picking one up, he saw that they were informational brochures detailing the School's layout and where to be for first day orientation. Wishing that he could have had something so useful on hand on his first day, Zenith remembered with a weary smile how he read a Black Mage's mind to find out where to go-- and promptly was chased away by a fireball twice his size. Taking out his pocketbook, Zenith clicked his pencil while Kyo talked to his friend, but remained close by.

First day back, and I already can't wait to begin classes. At least this time around, I have two new friends, and believe it or not, one's a Black Mage, and the other is a Summoner! We're going to start sparring together whenever we get some spare time; I may finally get a good sparring opponent. Ever since sis ran off, I've not been able to spar with anyone who's any good. Being mainly Telepaths, my classmates all fight in similar ways... so unless we get a few new students in my year AND class, I really doubt there will be much change this time around. Looks like classes are going to be a little later than usual; we're supposed to gather for a student address before sessions begin. I wonder if it's about the riot this morning.

Zenith stowed his book and pencil back in his pocket; the crowd of students was getting larger.

Daiyu stepped off the bus next, a small smile twitching at the corners of her lips. Though she knew her parents tried to be accepting of what she was, this place, this school is where she truly felt at home. Taking in the magnificent sight of the grounds, she ignored the pamphlets fluttering around them and stuffed her hands in her pockets. As nice as it was to finally be back, she still didn't quite want to go to her dorm yet. It was still early and she was feeling restless. Though, if she remembered correctly, there was supposed to be some kind of assembly. "Yah, there's still a bit of time before the assembly begins. Shouldn't your friend go get himself checked out at the infirmary?" Many a day she had spent in there, even if she was not necessarily injured. She'd tried sparring against her own summon, but had abandoned that after the first few sessions and she realized it would do no good since it was her own power that fueled her summon's ability to stay in this realm.

Besides, the infirmary was one of the last peaceful places she'd been able to find and the nurses didn't mind her being there as long as she didn't bother any patients. There was just one person that she really hoped not to see there.

Aqua got up and stepped off the bus with her head down. She glanced up a few times and saw a guy standing there infront of it. Kyo must have known him. She wanted to go around everyone so she could go to the school. She said quietly "excuse me." She felt the wind picking up and her hair blew out of her face. She tried to push her hair back into place, but it wouldn't stay. She noticed Kyo holding his arm that the man injured. She wanted to say something, but she knew that Kyo would probably hate her if he doesn't already. She sighed and looked down at the ground.

"No not really." Rocco, said sarcastically. Rocco looked at Kyo's arm and gave a long whistle. "You look like you got yourself into some trouble out there." Rocco glanced at his phone, he knew there was a lot of discussion on IRC chat rooms about the "fiasco" that went down in the slums. Most of the major news reports failed to release any significant details about riot. While online, Gifted rights organizations had condemned the response of the police force and reported a rising tension between Gifted-Human Relations. Rocco shook his head and smirked, now was probably not the time to bother Kyo about what happened in the slums. "But never mind that, you should probably go see someone about that arm real quick.

“Sage advice as always, Rocco.” said Kyo, barely concealing a grin.
The sight of his best friend was more than comforting after the horrific events that had occurred in quick succession over the last two hours. A wave of relief swept over him as he realised he was in safe and familiar territory, but that wave of relief was swiftly met with one of agonising pain that tore across his elbow as it started to slowly fracture once again, signalling a very undesirable paroxysm. He groaned as he heard the cracking: Jade being a primary white mage would have been far too convenient. He couldn’t complain, however, as he would have passed out from the physical torment had it not been for her.
Before he could utter another word, he noticed someone jogging in a hurried manner towards the group that had disembarked the bus. He turned towards the stranger and squinted at her as she was still in the distance, his eyebrows furrowing as he tried to remember where he had seen the girl before. She was pretty and yet intimidating at the same time, a stern expression on her face and a curious glint flashing on the silver badge she wore on her chest.
“Oh shit.” he whispered nervously, just before the girl got into hearing distance and stood in front of the group.
“Just came in from the slums?” she asked curtly.
“Yeah.” replied Kyo apprehensively, immediately and cautiously clouding his mind in case she was a telepath.
“You better hope you weren’t there during the riot. If the humans caught any video footage of Vansterike students caught up in the violence, Alvarez is gonna be pissed.” she informed Kyo and the group, casting a suspicious and analytical glance at each member of the party.
“That wasn’t our fault. We were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.” said Kyo aversively.
“What happened to your arm?” she demanded sharply, ignoring Kyo’s defence.
“Wrong place, wrong time.” he repeated smoothly but with a subtle hint of irritation.
“Watch your tone, muscles.” she warned astutely. “The nature of your injury is important and I’m well within my authority as a prefect to ask you.”
“I… I tripped.” said Kyo lamely.
“You tripped?” she repeated incredulously, an amused and disbelieving smirk on her face.
“Yeah, I… fell onto… something sharp.” he finished unconvincingly.
“We’ll see. Follow me.” she ordered firmly, beckoning him with a curt nod and turning. “We’re going to the White Mage Guild. If anyone else needs medical assistance, tag along.”
Kyo watched her walk away briskly before following her closely, unwilling to get into trouble for disobeying a direct order from a prefect. He turned to look back at his companions with a confused look, then fell back into line behind the girl.
“My name’s Kyo, by the way. What’s yours?” he asked politely, trying to smooth things over for his prior evasiveness.
“Carolyn.” she replied shortly, turning and heading through the massive onyx gates of the Academy and onto the winding and smoothly paved path that led to the White Mage Guild.

Yong Hwa's eyebrow twitched for what must have been the umpteenth time. The annoying chatter that flowed through one ear and out the other had gone on for long enough. "-and Yong Hwa, I just think we would make an adorable on-campus couple, what do you say-" Finally finishing arranging his first aid kit to his liking, he turned to her with an obviously annoyed expression. "Sorry, but I don't date ugly girls."

Her stunned silence was music to his ears, and even after the pain on his face registered from her slap, he couldn't bring himself to feel guilty. She only liked him for his face anyway. She stomped away, slamming open the double doors to leave him in blessed silence. It was a quiet day today since most students were coming back from break, and they usually didn't come back injured and in need of medical assistance. That didn't usually start until at least the second week. Making sure his work area was clean and organized, he walked over to the head nurse's desk only to hear the radio click on, 'Seems there was quite a mess down in the Slums, quite a few injured people, although no information has yet been released on whether or not it was a Gifted or Human that set off the riot.'

So something had happened in the Slums, huh? If any students had gotten caught in it, surely the school would have already been in an uproar about it, so it must not have been too bad. Then again, he had a habit of jinxing himself with that kind of thinking.
