The Crystal Kingdoms
Once, an Emperor ruled over the Crystal Kingdoms. This Emperor, Godwyn the Great, was immortal. He ruled over the Crystal Kingdoms for centuries until a mysterious incident in which he disappeared for good. A power struggle was imminent, and there was no way to avoid civil war, the Crystal Kingdoms turned on eachother after a few years of negotations failed. The Kingdoms fought against eachother for three hundred years, to no avail. The Crystal Kingdoms may never be unified by a single native Emperor ever again.
Finally, the Kingdoms stopped fighting eachother in the Unification Wars. Wars from then would be fought for land, wealth, honor and glory. It had been centuries since the Unification Wars. For five hundred years the Kingdoms were at total peace, many generations of bliss past. The future looked bright, and then, suddenly, from the East, an evil spirit came, killing the royal families of the Crystal Kingdoms. Eventually, all the armies of the Crystal Palace were defeated. They were well trained and drilled, but there were few experienced soldiers to protect the people from the vast hordes of Easterners.
It has been eight hundred years since our defeat by Emperor Zaras. Emperor Zaras is an immortal ruler, and over the centuries, we Westerners have gradually adopted the culture of the Empire of Jin. That is not to say that we aren't distinctively our own cultures. It merely means we are also Jin, in addition to being our own native cultures. Emperor Zaras has decreed an edict of religious and cultural toleration. His rule has grown more benevolent over the centuries.

Plot:
You are descendants of the Royal Families that were slaughtered during the Jin Wars. Each Crystal Kingdom has a certain attribute that it regulates through a magical Crystal. As a member of the Royal Family, you have magical powers based on this Crystal. Basically, the Crystal Kingdoms to the East of Jin are mostly either West European or some kind of European Kingdom, keep that in mind when you make your character. As a member of the Royal Families that Zaras slaughtered, you have been seized by the Imperial gaurd and made to have an audience with Zaras. (That's the start of the role play).

As for our Crystal Powerz, whatever Crystal Power you are linked to determines your powers. You can learn magic and special skills outside of your Crystal's control but you will be Uber powerful with whatever Crystal you choose. In addition, you aren't restricted to the traditional Four elements. You could choose something that's less common, like Death, Life, Order, Chaos, etcetera.

Im a noob. And I would like to try, unless youd like experienced people to play. Hows a source of power like Rage sound. If youre presence created anger, or the anger of others gives you strength.
Hm.. Your people would have to be barbarians for that to work. Or maybe not barbarians, but they would certainly have a martial culture.
