Mass Effect: Nova... Shadow Broker agent recruitment!

This is an open communication to all combat and intelligence class personnel, a key Alpha Priority Assignment has been authorized that requires the top agents in my service to attend to. A freelancer mercenary outfit known as Nova is in pursuit of material I greatly desire and is in possession of sensitive information that requires retrieval at any cost. They are dangerous and high-profile, having made enemies of the three major Terminus System mercenary outfits (RE: Blood Pack, Blue Suns, and Eclipse) and having played a key role in the Alliance response to the Skyllian Blitz six months ago by reestablishing fleet communications to the beleaguered ground forces of Elysium by retaking a relay station under bartarian pirate control. They are extremely capable, and individually they are among the best in their areas of expertise anywhere in the galaxy, but personal issues keep them from being a truly cohesive unit and from reaching their true potentials. Exploit this.

Due to the lack of available agents due to their assignments, it falls to you to track down and neutralize Nova, if you pass the trials against your fellow agents. Only the absolute best agents will be selected for this mission, and you will be working in a team of the best my organization has to offer. Success will be greatly rewarded beyond anything you have ever seen, and failure will not be tolerated. A great deal is depending on your competence and haste. Do not disappoint me.

Should this assignment be accepted, make contact with your handler to be brought into Intrepid Station. You will be tested for suitability and briefed upon arrival.

Hello, and thank you for checking this interest check! Mass Effect: Nova is requiring more Shadow Broker agents to act as a rival/antagonist group against the title team, but that's not to say they are any less important! If you've ever wanted to play a more villainous, immoral individual in the Mass Effect, this RP is for you! This RP will take place in several familiar, and new, locations across the galaxy and offer a healthy mix of action, character interaction and development, and a sense of adventure and fun that you'd come to expect from the game! There's several interesting and well developed characters already established, some touching personal moments, and a healthy dose of humour throughout that gives this RP a unique flavour. So if you like to create flawed, interesting characters with a good sense of humour, a strong background, and looking for a reliable, friendly group of players, look no further!

What do we require from you?

This RP is high-casual, so a minimum of two well written and detailed paragraphs per post, and often-times more, is required. Please review character sheets and try to match the details and quality of the already accepted players.

A relatively decent understanding of the Mass Effect universe and lore, as well as an understanding that both Nova and the Shadow Broker agents operate in various moral shades of grey. As mentioned, the characters all have their personal flaws and quirks that make them compelling and interesting, as well as more vulnerable. If you're all about character development instead of just expecting an RP where you shoot things non-stop, you've found the right place!

A relatively consistent posting presence, please try to be regularly active in the OOC and post fairly often in the IC! This RP doesn't go at a rocket pace, so it should be easy to keep up, and there isn't a set posting order, so don't feel hung up waiting for one person to post before you do if they've been absent a while. Please be the kind of player who stays with things if they join it!

And most importantly, be the kind of person who likes to have fun, goof around in the OOC, and enjoy building a story and a world with other players. This RP runs by the idea that while I'm the GM moving the plot forward, everyone acts as a GM of sorts during the game, creating NPCs, moving the flow of the battles, and generally adding to the scenes with your posts without needing me to fill in all the details! This RP is all about what we create together, and it's the continuation of an RP that ran for quite some time without a GM in the slightest, and I'd like to carry on that spirit!

Sound's fun. How long is the shelf life for these villain characters. Are they villains for say a story arc or are they the main antagonist for the whole plot? Either way I'm very interested.

They very much so have their own story arc, character moments, and action separate from the main plot. While they fill the role of antagonists to the main group, their story runs parallel to Nova team and will largely involve a group of the best agents the Shadow Broker has trying to figure out how to work as a team without stepping on each other's toes, compete against their fellow agents for prestigue and new equipment/ rankings, and generally show a side to Mass Effect that's only seen as evil henchmen. The characters may die way down the road, but the same goes for the Nova crew. The SB agents are going to be, I hope, just as kimportant to the story.
