Wicked Witch Of The North
Laretta leans over to the side table and fill a cup of tea for herself as well, she holds he cup of tea up so she can show it to Ellynara.
"Nothing in the brain is destroyed when Confession, it is more like this, look at this cup of tea, this is a mix of water and a multitude of dried herbs and just a hint of milk, that is what this tea is. If we see this as the human mind then confession would be as if I poured this cup into a big bucket and then filled the bucket up with water, everything that was there to begin with would still be there, but it would be so washed out as to be unrecognizable. Confession is additive magic, it can not take anything away, it just overwhelm the mind of the target with love for the Confessor which is so great that nothing else matters. I know it is a poor way to explain it, but it is the best I can do."
Laretta said as she sipped her tea.
"Well we do know that when a person have been Confessed, tuning them into an animal gives them back some autonomy, they still love the Confessor, but they can think for themselves and then we are more talking a normal crush and not slavery. Sometimes when someone is Confessed and turns out to be innocent we will have our wizard turn them into animals so they can have a life."
Laretta sigh and she looks deeply into her tea as she speaks.
"Once I was called in to Confess a man name Jon Zurich, he was accused of attempted murder of a soldier, now the problem was that there had been allot of such accusations towards land owners in the area and when they where convicted and executed the land went to the local lord and the Confessors suspected foul play. The Mother Confessor sent me to Confess Jon and that was not a pleasant task for he was the first I touched who was not willing. I mean sure no one let themselves be Confessed happily but with for example Jina he asked for Confession to clear his name, and it is different then, off course the one to be Confessed is scared and it is hard to do it, but when you have someone before you who cries and begs you just to let him die as himself, then it is even harder."
Laretta looked shamefully down then she shake her head sadly.
"Anyway before I Confessed Jon I asked him what animal he liked best and he said a hawk, so when he had told me he was innocent and his testimony had been used to convict the corrupted lord my former wizard Remar turned Jon into a hawk. Before he was turned into an animal Jon behaved like Jina do now, completely consumed by love for me, but when he was turned into an animal he became his own man again, yes he love me, but he have also taken mates, other hawk and had young, he can still speak and think like a man but have the body of a hawk and he is a friend."
Laretta said and smiles a little then she adds.
"I spoke with Jina before I confessed him and we made an arrangement that when I have given birth to three daughters he will be tuned into a black stallion and I will keep my word on that. It will be nice for my future children as well if their father is able to love them and care for them and not just be consumed by me."
Laretta said and sigh, she glanced towards the bathroom where Jina was tending to Sonny.
"I wish there was a way to give the Confessed back their free will and still let them be human though, I mean when they are turned into animals they keep their intelligence but off course their old lives are lost to them forever."
Laretta nodded and sipped her tea.
"I share your fears Laretta, I do think that the new leader will probably become a pawn of the Mord-Sith, but I also share your hope that we are wrong and that D'Hara can become a more welcoming place for magic users and perhaps one day the barbaric practice of creating Mord-Sith can end."
The young Confessor said as she sipped her tea again.
"I have a hope for that, but not a very great hope, I do not think it is likely with a good outcome here but we can always hope."

Ellynara smiled, "Well, maybe we can find out a way. I'll see what I can find out about...reverting a Confession, for lack of a better word. It's an interesting prospect..."
"Perhaps I should leave with you then...as far as I know this tournament is fairly soon, and I'd rather not be around if things get even worse here. Quillion or no..." she shrugged.

"I think most of the Confessor population would put you on a pedestal and sing your praises if you found a way to reverse Confession Ellynara, I mean not only would that allow us to save the innocent, if it was complete reversal perhaps we did not need to destroy our mates and besides we would be more effective, as it is now many innocent men and women go to their executions rather than ask for Confession and it is only done against the condemned's will on rare and extreme occasions, and for those sentenced to lesser punishments hardly anyone ask for a Confession, if the magic of our touch was reversible then far more would be willing to take it to see justice done."
Laretta said with a smile then she added a bit sadly.
"And then perhaps not everyone would be so afraid of us."
The young Confessor said then she added.
"Though I do not think it is possible to find such a reversal, once someone is Confessed that is that, but you are off course more than welcome to try, stranger wonders have happened in the world than finding a way to reverse a certain type of magic."
The Confessor said before she took a sip from her tea again.
Laretta looked down at Ellian, the young sorceress beside her leaving would mean he would be feeling all of his pain again, but hopefully he was sleeping so deeply now that he would not wake up when Ellynara withdrew her magic from him.
"I agree there is allot to do and probably not allot of time to do it in. You should go and I will stay here and take care of Ellian until it is time to leave."
Laretta said, she put her teacup down on the table and rose to gently adjust the blankets covering the wounded wizard.
"And I do not want you to stay here if things get to dangerous."
Laretta said.
"Though if the Mord-Sith is going to have a wizard under their thumb who they are going to have rule this nation then finding that quillion will be even more important for if they then find it, allot of magic users will loose their lives in a horrible way."
