I can't help but think that Bethesda decide to spend the time they have scheduled for bug testing as a chance to add more to the lore.

Oh I was just sayng. As a gamedev myself, I know all about the horror that is late nght crunching. The main gripe is that they leave half finished code in place. That's pretty much a no-go. Then there is the fact that they got plain lazy at times. Skirim was refreshhng in that t as so much visible effort to make complete game. Basically, Bethesda finally brought their A game.
