But they eventually were not part of the Olympics anymore

    "Sport" is defined as

First of all LoL and Starcraft do not require physical training. They do require skill ofc, but this skill can be learned rather quickly in a matter of months unlike olympic athletes who must train for years and years and keep training to retain that skill.

My main point? Video games just do not belong in the Olympics.

Poetry was removed from the Olympics not because of the sport itself but because the people who entered as Olympic poets were not amateurs. Poets could easily be paid for their work outside of the Olympics. It was considered unfair so poetry and most other acts were cut out of the Olympics.

So I don't see why video games couldn't become part of the Olympics.

While those skills can be learned in a manner of months, the sheer level games like LoL or especially StarCraft II are played professionally at takes years of experience and hideous amounts of talent. A lot of people will never be able to reach that level because it requires an extraordinary mind. Especially, as I said, StarCraft II. The speed professional SC2 players think and act at is ridiculous.

Believe me I am well aware of this. I AM NOT denying LoL and Starcraft to enter the professional level... in fact it already is.
My point is that LoL and Starcraft should not be on the Olympics...

Why? Simple, it's not a sport.

    Is chess a sport?

Anyway, rhetorics. I disagree that they're not sports but they're not Olympic in my opinion. So the result is the same.

Well is chess in the olympics?
Anyways whether chess and LoL are "sports" is a whole different discussion I think. Chess and LoL are certainly competitive no doubt about that, but they do not require physical activity so they are not sports.

According to Google... Sport- "An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others."

Self explanatory if you ask me. Online games are indeed competitive, but don't fit the criteria to be a sport.

Counter Strike used to be a game that was played professionally. I don't know how it's doing now, but there was always a very large distinction between a "pro" and a "noob", which isn't really the case in more modern FPS games like Call of Duty anymore. But yeah, why not make a seperate Olympics for gaming?

I'm pretty sure they already have this.
The point is that Gaming does not belong in the Olympics, the one with physical exertion and all that lovely stuff

Poetry isn't a sport and that did fine in the Olympics.

And it wasn't removed for *not* being a sport.
