SCI FI:

The year is 2102. The nation-states have fallen and given way to corporate cities run by and for the great businessmen, countries now little more than lines of demarcation upon a map. Built over the ruins of Seattle, New Quangxi is a city at war - to the south, in the Washington Wastes, Fai Chen troops battle the New Quangxi Defence Force for control over the city, and potentially hegemony over the entire Pacific Northwest region.


When the newly-formed 4th NQDF Poddrop Brigade are sent into battle, in a small village south-east of the main front, it is a disaster; it has been boobytrapped, and only two survivors remain; a wizened Captain, a veteran brought in to command the brigade, and a raw recruit just out of the academy - and they must somehow fight their way back home.

Fai Chen, despite all it's military power, is not a wealthy city - years of expansionist warfare have made her powerful, but the people suffer, and the military hospitals are not able to cope - so when one soldier comes back from the frontline missing a leg, an arm, and an eye, nothing is special about her, until one nurse does something very silly, and begins to fall in love with her, helping her recover, rebuild her life, and maybe spend it with her.
