Solbane relaxed and laid there, thankful the pain was over. "Oh?" he asked. "And you want those answers now or not?" He smiled gently at her.

Lyla nodded. "You bet your cute butt I do."

[Solbane]

"Let me go down the list. The ruby in my bag had a slow mind-clouding and silencing effect, the crown fully paralyzed me, and the scepter..." He trailed off, blushing once more, not wanting to say such vulgar things to a woman.

"But you knew about the curses....couldn't you counteract them?" Lyla asked.

[Solbane]

"There were no counters, only cures. Hence the vials and..." He trailed off again, turning even redder.

"Are you telling me that you were just...curing yourself?" she suddenly felt very used. she pulled her knees up to her chest and held them.

[Solbane]

Crap. Solbane tried to find a way to cheer her up. "Well, in one sense yes that is true, however, I would have rather just been cursed if it was any other girl. If you don't believe me, why is Maria out in the bushes tied up? I'd like you to answer that one." He looked straight at her. "Besides. I told you beforehand that this was the only way to get it, did I not? Think on this one as well. I've lived perfectly fine here for years, yet I pack up from a simple peaceful solitary lifestyle to be with you. So in all truthfulness, you were not being used. You were being loved and appreciated."

Lyla nodded, a tear falling down her cheek. She wiped it away and rested her chin on her knees. "Im sorry...Im just not used to...people." she said quietly.

[Solbane]

Solbane held her close. "We need to get moving soon, before the police come." He repacked his bags, accidentally stuffing the lingerie in but not noticing.

"Where will we go?" Lyla asked, standing up. "And you might wanna leave that, evidence." she pointed out.
