    Tomorrow

Will be bitter sweet. I've been looking forward to tomorrow more than I looked forward to Christmas, yet I've been dreading it more than I dread going back to school next year.

Tomorrow I get to put down the one and only pet I've ever been able to call my own, and a mere 5 hours later Justin (Turtlicious) comes to visit for a week.

I just want a hug... But from you all I'll probably get a slap to the face and be told to look on the bright side or keep my sorrow to myself or some shit.

Mostly though I just wanted to say hi strangers , I feel like I don't talk to you people enough anymore.

I know know the feeling of losing a pet like that. I think most people do. Your dread is understandable.
Take tomorrow to be sad and use Turt as your teddy bear. I'm sure he wouldn't mind that, either.

Then enjoy the rest of his stay and try not to think about your pet.

This. I'm sorry for your loss -- I've been there, too, and it does break your heart when something like that has to be done. (Even if it's for the best sometimes.)

It's always sad to see your pet being put down. My Aunt and Uncle had to do the same to their dog earlier this year (Granted, he was considered ancient in dog years, and his health was deteriorating immensely, but it was still sad).

I'm sure I will use him as my teddy bear XD and I doubt he'll mind at all. He likes the attention.

    Thanks to all of you

And I'm gonna be keeping myself busy hopefully too busy to be sad really.

That's something I'm sad about though. She's relatively young for a cat to go, although not so young as it's strange. She's 9 and I think most cats live to be over 12 (with exceptions of course) but she just turned 9 and this is the only illness she's ever had, and unfortunately it's a fatal one.

I'm so sorry to hear. It's so very hard to do, and I know of two dogs that had to be put down recently and I had known them since I was little. I'm scared for when it's my dog's turn to go, but I've handled the others' deaths well. Yes it will be harder, but I'd rather my dog be peacefully in Heaven waiting for me as opposed to being in pain here.

Justin will be a nice distraction, and you two will have fun I'm sure of it. You'll get through this! ^_^

We had to do this a few years back with our cat. He had a fatal illness that came on suddenly and there was nothing that could be done. We had to put him down almost exactly on the day we had gotten him two years earlier as a kitten.. Sometimes there's just nothing that you can do, however much you want to.

The most we could do was give her medicine to keep her content and feeling okay. Now it's gone on long enough and I'm somewhat at peace with it.

I had a dog for about 15 years. His name was Sampson. He got really sick. The vets said it was an abscessed tooth, so they did some surgery. It only got worse and we went to a different vet. When we told him what the last vet had told us, he looked like he was about to vomit. That was when we found out it was a tumor and if we had found our sooner, we could have saved him. He died shortly after that. We kept him comfortable in the shed, with a heater and some blankets and then I would sleep with him at night until my dad would wake me up.

I had to go to school one day, so I went out to the back and gave him a hug and I told him I loved him. Kid stuff, you know? And when I came back home, I learned he had passed on shortly after I had left. It was so heartbreaking for me. But it's comforting to know that he isn't in pain any more and that's just you'll have to keep reminding yourself.
