Miria was the first to exit her hiding spot in the bushes. "Hello stranger, I am Professor Miria Carraway of the Levaz Daggson school of Necromancy, I am joined by my associate Professor Tiana Valdour The Steel Warriors guild sent us to help as specialists in the field.", Miria said walking up in front of the jester and the warforged heading to the big ol temple in the town. "My apoligies for hiding earlier...had to be sure there weren't more orcs about..."

She hoped all that flowery perfume covered up her nasty graveyard smell. There was nothing she could do about her patchwork doll appearance and the glass eye often unsettled people. Not to mention the fact that she aged biologically slower than other humans. Hence her youthful/decayed form. She still hoped for a cold reception, warm ones were really not that nice.

Tiana looked to Miria. "Do you know what you're doing?" she whispered but didn't say much else on that topic. "My colleague here is correct." She said to the warforged. "There should be one more of us..." She looked around to find the third teacher that she knew was coming. Val Sogne. An Artathi. Or at least, she thought he was coming along. "Anyways, we're here from the Syonian Hall of Arcanum Studies." She explained. "I'm Professor Tiana Valdour. Historian of arcane knowledge."

The tip of the halberd sang through the air as the warforged turned on his heel to face the new arrivals. Settling himself like a mountain ADAMUS took in the details of the new arrivals. Two females, biological construct and normal human going by the looks of things, two males mainly staying back. Magicians if the titles were anything to go by. Oddly dressed for the occasion, then again if he knew anything about mages it was that nothing was ever what it appeared to be.

"GREETINGS." he said. "NO OFFENCE TAKEN. YOU APPEAR SOMEWHAT... FRAGILE, FOR WANT OF A BETTER WORD. THIS UNIT IS CALLED ADAMUS."

The tip of his halberd moved to point up at the sky as he gave a nod in greeting. "MY COMRADES AND I SUSPECT SURVIVORS MAY HAVE GATHERED IN THE TEMPLE, BUT HAVE HAD NO LUCK CONFIRMING IT. I WOULD INTRODUCE YOU TO MY ALLIES WERE THE MOMENT MORE OPPORTUNE, FOR NOW PLEASE REMAIN BEHIND ME. IN CASE OF HOSTILITIES I WILL DO MY BEST TO SHIELD YOU FROM HARM."

Introductions done the living construct turned his attention back to the temple door. While waiting for a response, he began to appraise the door. Was it falling of it's hinges or still firmly in place? Was there mould on it or was it's surface unblemished? Was it made of oak with iron reinforcements or did it seem less sturdy than that? Open or closed?

Whispers... Whispers... Not like the ones I usually hear? Who's there? I am of course, I'm always here. You're always there. Who are you? Oh! That's right, you're me and I'm you and we're us! But that don't explain, why I hear things outside my brain! I bet its Orc! No, must be survivors... What?

The surroundings were ravaged, razed to the ground. Stories of the Orc were not enough to explain what the tribes were capable of with the proper enticing. Granted, not all of them were wicked, festering monsters of war and gore. However, what they left behind could already be seen. The Jester passively noted a chest with a serious looking lock on it. There was also a statue of the beautiful and wise looking figure cradling in its arms a scorched staff. There was so much history here and none of it would ever occur to Sabal, that was for sure. It was a simple world as far as she was concerned...

Sabal bobbed her head back and forth as her mind argued with itself, the bells on her mask, turned to the side, jiggling lightly, "I hear whispers..." She muttered under her breath. Suddenly, a strange girl came out of the bushes. She looked like a small girl's toy come to life... If the small girl had dabbled in the dark arts. Then there were others, all magical mystical abra-kadabra sorts. Sabal flipped, literally, and landed on her hands, "Goodness gracious alive, or dead as it may be, new magical members, a woman and a baby!" Then she was back on her feet in a flash, "Hey! Wanna hear a jok-"

"GREETINGS. NO OFFENCE TAKEN. YOU APPEAR SOMEWHAT... FRAGILE, FOR WANT OF A BETTER WORD. THIS UNIT IS CALLED ADAMUS. MY COMRADES AND I SUSPECT SURVIVORS MAY HAVE GATHERED IN THE TEMPLE, BUT HAVE HAD NO LUCK CONFIRMING IT. I WOULD INTRODUCE YOU TO MY ALLIES WERE THE MOMENT MORE OPPORTUNE, FOR NOW PLEASE REMAIN BEHIND ME. IN CASE OF HOSTILITIES I WILL DO MY BEST TO SHIELD YOU FROM HARM."
The painted jester blinked several times, putting her pinky in her ear and wiggling it slightly as her ears rang, "As the big guy said, we're looking for those that ain't dead. If no one is left, then taking stuff isn't theft! Pillage and plunder without the murder. Then, we'll find those Orc and give them a stern talking to, I suspect a lot of walking though..." Sabal trailed off, her eyes looking past the new magicians to a larger pile of rubble. Her smile widened, "Oh boy! Looky at what I found," Rushing over to the stones, there was an apparent bit of red fabric from the pile. Hunching over, gripping at the most prominent rock, she looked back at the group, specifically ADAMUS, "Want to help a clown out, Gears? I could try and lift this but that'd take years..."

"I don't look that young do I?", Miria wondered aloud. Still they weren't trying to kill her yet, so that was good. "You're the jester then...what's your name? You may call me Miria, I can assist with investigative acquisitions.", she said simply. Miria then walked over to assist the jester in evidence removal or was the term supposed to be investigative acquisitions. Either way really...And it wouldn't be right to call a skeleton over to pull it out for her. She did however call Fergus and Danny over to help carry the evidence. She was willing to give them a 5% cut of the find after reasonable expenses of course.

Greed was normal, so was bonding with new friends...a cold reception...everything she could have hoped for given how many blades most adventuring groups carried. She tugged alongside the jester, noting that indeed yes she was shorter than this other by about 4 inches. But a baby...then she realized, this was an elf she was speaking to. But still she wasn't sure whether to be flattered or upset. In any case she ordered Fergus and Danny over to help. "Yes, Lady Miria", they said. Those two were scraping the bottom of the barrel when she found them...that was likely why they were willing to ignore her...her obviously cursed form.

The temple was in fact trapped and it had been set off. That accounted for the cloth on the floor as it was jammed in the trap. The broken fishing line showed how the trap was to be triggered. He left it alone so as to not set the trap off again. Even though he figured that the trap was a one shot he did not feel like testing it out. Other then that there was a couple of broken daggers and a holy symbol to Karana. There was still the chest with its lock but he would not open that one yet. If there was someone still around here that were hiding he did not want to loot the building in front of them. That and stealing from a temple would bring unwanted divine attention to him.

With nothing else being of immediate importance Pash walked outside to see two females talking to the group. It seemed like they were there to investigate as well. It seemed that this was a troubling enough matter that it was pulling more interest then just their employer. More heads were always better especially when there was a potential of violent conflict. It seemed that they were going through the rubble to find clues. It was good to see everyone working together.

"The temple seems clear. There is a chest in there and a trap that was set off during the attack. I could hear something breathing around there but could not find its origin. I am going to continue to look for it while you all dig for clues."

Pash walked around the temple and back through it to find out where that breathing was coming from. He was checking bushes, looking in trees, and testing for secret doors. He wanted to cover all the bases to make sure he did not want to miss this lead.

As the two began to dig through the pile of rubble, they found a few things. An orcish war ax (Knowledge check Local), an apothecary satchel (Knowledge check Nature ),and a bit of strange metal (Metal work/Geography Knowledge check). The small bit rubble is quickly moved through, but some of the large bits are still in place.

Miria immediately grabbed the apothecary's satchel, handing the waraxe to Fergus leaving the metal for the jester.

Pash walked around the temple and heard the breathing again. There were prints on the ground that he did not notice before and they lead to the chest. Could there be someone in the chest? He pulled out his lock picking tools and set to work. It was a heavy duty lock so he took his time. It wouldn't do to rush since he might ruin his picks and mess up the lock. he could get the warforged to smash it but something was inside of it and he wanted it to be safe.

"I am going to help you out of this box. Just be calm." Pash whispered to the creature.

As he picked the lock he made sure that once he opened it he would take a step back in case this was something that was captured and would be violent. Always good to be on the defense in this type of situation.

Once the lock clicked there was a reverberation inside the chest. For a moment it quivered then opened just a crack as green smoke plummed out of the chest. What followed next was deep voice that echoed out, “You have angered the Spirit of Karana keeper of the Storms! Begone vile Orc or I will strike you down with the thunders of the…..*cough, choke, gag*” The voice stopped midway as the smoke began to dissipate. Leaving a rather odd looking Gnome standing just inside the chest. His blonded hair was beginning to white and trace bits of green powder was left on his hands.

“You’re-a-Halfin’-not-no-Orc!” he said in a slightly high pitched voice quite quickly while clapping his hands. “Are-the-Orc-all-gone?”
