    An RP Companion's Introduction

Hi. I used to roleplay on a casual level and would like to try and get back into it. I like the idea of creating something again, instead of just consuming media. Even if the product is not professional quality, and may be rife with flaws, it's a good exercise for the mind.

I usually do fantasy or sci-fi 1x1 rps, because in a group rp, I think you have to rely on too many people and it gets too confusing. Maybe things have changed since 2009 or so, but I find most group rps are so disorganized that people give up.

Send me a notification if you are interested in a roleplay with me. I am literate making few spelling/grammatical mistakes apart from typos and the occasional awkwardly worded sentence. I used to get a little OCD about them, and would frequently edit my posts if I caught anything of the sort.

I hope to see everyone around,

    Thanks,

    Inara

Aaand Sadly I already see a couple of minor errors that I can't correct. Oh well. B-)

Welcome to the Guild, Inara. I hope you find plenty of RP to enjoy here. I think you'll find we have an active 1x1 section. The interest check forum for it can be found here. If you have any questions about how things are done around here just ask, plenty of helpful people around to answer. I do suggest you read this Guide just to see how things are set up just in case it is different from what you are used to. Let me know if I can be of any assistance. Happy RPing.

    Welcome.

I agree that many group RPs are highly disorganized, though I don't think that's the case with everyone. You just need to find a good GM who knows how to keep the story on track. While I have been criticized for being over-realistic and having characters that tend to be a bit more powerful than others, most people who have RP'd with me tend to agree that I know how to keep the story going in the right direction. So it just depends how good your GM is, I think. Don't lose hope!
If you like my style, feel free to join these RPs:

Shadow of Prometheus, Story-focused Science Fiction Original Universe, with Empire-Building

I'll keep that in mind, Paladin. Thanks for the insight. After I get back into the swing of things, maybe I'll look up some group rps and see if the GMs are good.
