Ever read The Dark Tower series by Stephen King? A great western-steampunk-horror series. I'd be interested in something along the lines you've posted.
Masquerade OOC
I'm interested in finding myself a partner to scheme with in creating a world and plot that later will allow others to immerse themselves in an intrigue set in either a Victorian or western steampunk setting that is guided by a GM
Alternate history earth so that landmarks/countries are mostly the same, split from our current timeline though everything else is up for grabs.
Current book series that have piqued my interest include; The Parasol Protectorate series - Gail Carriger, The glass books of the dream eaters series- Gordon Dahlquist which if You are familiar with they will go some long way towards referencing my state of mind.
I'd be quite happy to suffuse my steampunk with some alien or mythological action so long as it was well orchestrated.
I'd prefer to work with someone with the same keen interest in the topic, a knowledge of it or the ability to google for references with rapid fingers, a sense of humor and love for depth in characters.
Oh and dirigibles. I need them.

Maybe I've been wrong all these years, and it's taken your inspiring speech to make me see it. You've really changed me. It's beautiful. I think we've gotta hug
I definitely have. Though I skipped the prequel.
Would you be interested in collaborating?
hi there, as it happens i've been playing around with this kind of idea myself. my version has fantasy creatures living alongside technological creations, sometimes even being the same thing. i would be happy to help you with this idea.

so i was playing around with an idea for a character, and i thought it might fit into your world. here's an introduction:
a lone figure wanders through the darkness that permeates the forest.
emerging out of the tree line, she pulls down her hood, allowing her
cramped, wolf-like ears some room. looking up at the city on the mountain, she
shows her fangs in a smile. "i finally made it." hoisting the long cloth
bundle higher on her back, she heads in the direction of the mountain,
humming a tune into the night.
the whole idea is that magic in this world grew alongside science, and magical creatures like my wolf-girl here, live alongside ordinary people and live ordinary lives, with some exceptions as my character is a mercenary.
ohh I love that.. if we could make it Victorian era-ish then I think we might be on to something...
Here's the idea I was working with..
The Masquerade
It is a time of great celebration.
The aging King has finally sired an heir (albeit upon his Mistress) and with the already reclusive Queen retiring to their country estate, her face long faded from the minds of the people, celebrations have begun in earnest.
The Topsy Turvy festival is underway, the beginning of a month long series of festivities which will culminate on the night of the Grand Ball.
The citizenry clock to the revelry, all their inhibitions drowned under the guise of taking on new roles for but a single night, prepared to mingle rich and common in the glorious light of His Majesty's great triumph.
Yet a taint spreads through the masses as unusual incidents begin to occur.. A shadow spreads itself ever outward from the source of the joy, spiraling faster and faster...
It's been awhile since I've been able to even glance a good Steampunk RP, count me in. I'll add some ideas to bounce around (if necessary) later, as it is quite passed that time where my head meets it's friend Mr. Pillow.
Great to have you on board Wanderer! Can't wait to hear more
This is my fav Roleplay that I'm playing right now. Great writers and zombies. what more could you ask for?
