Shiki rose from his bed feeling soar all over, a headache starting creep through his skull. He rubbed his eyes and lazily stood up, slightly toppling to the side and leaning on the wall next to his bed, he did not sleep well last night. "How could I?" he asked himself in his mind. Indeed, how could he? How could he simply lay down and rest when knowing that some bastard of the Undertakers was keeping his precious little sister, Akiko, hostage? He hasn't seen her in days, he hasn't heard of her, no one else seems to know her as if she never were here. The only thing Shiki had to put his mind to rest was that small note he found in his room which mentioned that 'Akiko will be safe if you follow instructions precisely when given'. Shiki gritted his teeth in anger and punched the wall in frustration. He wanted to question everyone, he wanted to yell, he wanted to curse, but he could do neither. After his last punishment game he was left with no voice. He couldn't speak, he couldn't make a sound. Which meant he couldn't tell anyone anything, especially the Freedom Fighters. The punishment game was most probably rigged by the same Undertaker that kidnapped his sister, it was a good way of ensuring Shiki's 'silent compliance'. He has no choice but to follow their instructions...for now. Yet it has been days since Akiko's 'disappearance' and not a word from any Undertaker or their agents. Regardless, he was sure that once they needed him for something then he would know.
Shiki swept his long auburn hair out of his face and put on his prison uniform, he supposed he should consider it a good thing that this collar was hiding the ugly scar on his neck. Which reminded him. He searched through his pocket and found a small piece of candy in a pink-and-white stripped wrapper. "Bitter pill of life..." he thought as he undid the wrapper and munched on the candy which kept the poison at bay for another few days. He would need to restock on a few more pieces of candy soon enough, but for now he should see what this day brings and wait to see if those sons of bitches would decide to finally contact him. As he walked though the hallway he saw the many inmates of the G-Block passing him by. All of them were Deadmen, like him, all of them had the Branches of Sin and there was no telling what powers they had. Further more, anyone one of them could be a potential enemy in the Corpse Carnival. Yet all this didn't seem to prevent friendship between some of them as they even formed a secretive group called the Freedom Fighters which plan to find a way and bust out of Deadman Wonderland. Shiki and his sister were part of the group but soon after they enlisted the Corpse Carnival which pitted them against each other started and of course he pretended to not be able to fight so Akiko would be safe and spared from the punishment game, only to have her fall in the hands of the Undertakers. Shiki frowned in anger at those thoughts. "I swear I'l kill them. I'l make them all choke on their own blood!" he vowed in his thoughts.
Soon enough he entered the canteen and saw numerous Deadmen everywhere, 'enjoying' their food. Judging by the smell of it, today's menu was steak and maybe a bit of bacon. Shiki took an empty tray and presented it to the cook. This cook rarely ever spoke to anyone, he simply slapped the food on the trays and minded his own affairs, as such it was no problem (at least here) that Shiki was mute. After getting a rather charred looking piece of steak and a glass of water, Shiki sat at an empty table, quietly munching on his overcooked meat while watching those around him, waiting to see how today's events would unfold.
