The continent of Elfiné. For years, the Goddesses Aurora and Avana have ruled over their respective portions of the continent. Their power stems from two weapons: the swords known as Darkblade and Brightsteel. The North, ruled by Aurora and the divine weapon Brightsteel, prospers in a seemingly endless period of peace. The South, ruled by Avana and the chaotic weapon Darkblade, seems to have constant war or skirmishes between countries, as no two nations are willing to see eye-to-eye. The country of Geraden has recently attacked Edea, the country in current possession of the Darkblade, looking to gain even more territory under its imperial banner, as well as steal the sacred sword. Meanwhile, Edea is also attempting to fend off half-human beasts from Exotria, a rivalry between races that has long existed. The survival of the nation Edea depends entirely on the actions of a few new recruits who shall soon become heroes...
Yes, that means that everyone playing will be allied with Edea, and most will be fresh recruits. This RP will be highly based on strategy and ability to reason, as in almost every fight, the players shall be outnumbered by at least two times as many troops. Do not let this discourage you, though. There is much to the battlefields that can be used to your advantage. A player may use anything to his advantage, such as pillars and braces indoors, as well as bushes and trees outdoors, all of which can be used for cover. Outdoors one may also encounter ballistae, catapults, and boulders atop cliffs, all of which may be used to harm enemies.
There are also 11 different weapon types to be wielded. These include Swords, Spears/Lances, Axes, Bows, Knives, Light Magic, Wind Magic, Fire Magic, Thunder Magic, Dark Magic, and Healing Magic (or staves). Wind, Fire, and Thunder can all be grouped under one family called Natural (or for those more familiar with Fire Emblem: Anima) Magic, so one will never wield only one of these three. Most weapons are also limited in number of uses before they break. Even Magic Tomes wear down and fall apart after a given amount of time. I'll be keeping track of the number of times you hit with a weapon and let you know when you must replace that weapon.
Another thing to remember is your character's build type: Fast, Skilled, Strong, Armor, Horseback, Mounted Flying (Gryphon [males], Pegasus [females], Dragon, or Wyvern), or Intelligent. For Base Flying Units, only the Gryphon (cannot use Spears) or Pegasus (cannot use Axes) is allowed.
This game shall also feature a Promotion System, in which units consist of three types: Base Units, Advanced Units, and Mastery Units. In order to promote from Base to Advanced, a player must come in contact with an in-game item called a "Great Seal". To promote from Advanced to Mastery, a character must come in contact with a Master Seal. Base Units may only wield one type of weapon and may be of one build type. Upon promoting, a unit gets one additional Weapon Type OR one additional Build Type.
And one last thing. There are Cat-People (like, Tigers and Panthers) from Exotria and Bird-People (Giant Hawks and stuff) from Phoenia. These are all counted as Advanced Units and cannot promote. They also do not fight like humans. In order to fight, they transform from a near human form into their respective beast forms, using claws, teeth, beaks, and talons to fight.
That is most of the technical information I think will need to post here. Now on to Character Sheets. Required information on your character is as follows:
