I heard yelling from afar, and I turned to the commotion, bringing the rest of my unit with me to engage the action or whatever was causing it. As we strode along the dirty sidewalks that the government failed to keep in good condition, I whispered an old saying under my breath, mocking the government that seemed to not care abut us at all. "Step on a crack, break your mother's back." It's funny... I thought bitterly. It's impossible not to step on a crack here. There's too many.
