Part two was just a tad boring compared to part one honestly. Not to mention a majority of the characters from the former I preferred over the latter, lol. But the story wasn't all that bad, just the dungeons were boring as fuck.

DAII is my favorite game of all time, and one I've played over and over and over again. It's what I always wanted from the JRPGs I grew up on. While it didn't have the epic lore of Origins, it's waaaaay more fun to play.
Prepare for my nerd to show.
Anders is possessed by a spirit, not a demon. Justice was a character in Dragon Age: Awakening, who fuses with Anders, and is corrupted as a result. Merrill, on the other hand, is actually consulting with straight-up evil demons, hence being a blood mage. In the end, though, it is all really similar, lol. Spirits and demons aren't all that different.
I always play a Mage, because I just found the other roles too limiting. So, my party was always Male-Mage Smug-Hawke, Fenris, Anders, and Varric. Anders and Fenris go at one another like a married couple, and Varric's always good for some funny commentary.
Hope you enjoy the game, I love it. It's not a perfect game, but more enjoyable to play than DA:O. I just hope Dragon Age III is a blend of both games, and not some Skyrim copycat.
I know technically Justice is a spirit, but I always think of Vengeance as being more of a demon.
I also wanted to be a mage, because it's just so much fun, but I knew that the game killed off whichever sibling you shared a class with. I preferred Bethany over Carver, so warrior it was =P
On that note! If you don't take Bethany to the Deep Roads, does she survive? Because I purposefully took her thinking the woman killing guy would get her otherwise (who then took my mother, but w.e)
Vengeance is still righteous, so it's still a spirit, albeit it a scary one, lol.
And, I love Bethany, but Carver actually grows on me each playthrough. Bethany's gone no matter what you do, but I don't want to spoil anything. Just let me know if Anders is with you or not.
I liked Carver except for some of his reactions toward my character's choices. We disagreed much of the time.

He is, but I doubt he will be for much longer. He just made me distract the Grand Cleric while he did something in the Chantry, and is really bad at hiding the fact that it's probably going to result in his death.
"Here Varric, take my precious pillow. No, there's no reason why."
Also, feel free to spoil. It's my dad who has the game, and I just finished dog sitting at his house for the weekend. Probably won't be playing it again for ages.
It's cheap enough now to buy it and pay almost nothing I think.
