" right" Ramona told him raising her eyebrows slightly. " alright so Pizza for dinner" Ramona said unlocking the door and walking into her flat. It hadn't changed a bit from last year. The couch was still it's off shade of scarlet red and the door to Ramona's room was still covered in her artwork and snippets of magazines. The only thing that had changed was that the kitchen was nearly sparkling.
Ramona yawned a bit stretching her arms out wide. "It's getting kinda late, I think I'm gonna hit the hay" Ramona told Lionel as she got up from the couch. The dinner had gone splendidly and afterwards Ramon and Lionel had decided to watch a movie. They ended up watching a action comedy. None the less Ramona walked lazily to her room opening the door and closing it softly behind her. Ramona went to her dresser and pulled out some Pajama's. She walked over to her bed and quickly got under the covers. Ramona fell asleep quickly and got caught up in a nightmare. Ramona tossed and turned in her sleep mumbling nonsense. She shot awake from her dream breathing a bit heavy and finding herself in a cold sweat. Ramona quickly realized where she was and contemplated her own dream. She had been standing with Lionel when suddenly he disappeared and Ramona was all alone. The monster Ramona had recently faced appeared and Ramona tried to fight it on her own. She failed and lied on the ground broken and hurt. Then LIonel was back she called out for him to help her but he only replied with Why would i help a weirdo like you. Ramona held her pillow tightly at the thought that Lionel would even do something like that. She knew it was only a dream, but still the thought scared her. Ramona just wanted to see Lionel now though she knew that he was asleep. 'Maybe i could seep into his soul' Ramona thought 'He wouldn't mind right'. Ramona convinced herself it was good idea and she let herself drift away into him.
Lionel had gone to sleep after the movie they watch, finding the blankets and pillows exactly where they were stored last time, which brought back memories. And of course, like last time, he had been uncomfortable sleeping in his clothing, having to strip down to his boxers and curling up into the blankets to find some rest. Late into the night he dreamt of some of his time with the travelling circus...acting as a target for the trainee knife thrower. A dummy could have been used instead, or another staff member, but this was Lionel proving himself useful to the circus…they wouldn’t stop him if he was going to be so insistent. Standing with his back against a dark blue wooden backdrop, he was sweating bullets as the guy took out the golden ninja stars.
Ramona found herself standing outside a circus tent. She could hear Circus music and people were walking around. Ramona walked into one of the giant tents and saw Lionel standing with his back to a dark blue back drop. The tent was empty except for her, Lionel and a knife thrower. Ramona walked around the Tent till she found a place to sit. She was rather nervous and bit her nails as she watched the Thrower get ready to throw his first ninja star. The thrower pulled her arm back and let the first star go. Thankfully it landed next to Lionel's face. Ramona let out a sigh of relief but tensed up again as the next star was released.
Of course, Lionel was still short and childish in appearance…the trainee wasn’t used to short targets. The first few golden throwing stars hit the dark blue backdrop fine, the next three… “YEEEEK!?” One imbedded itself on the end of Lionel’s sleeve, thankfully not actually hitting him, while the other one was done too low and hit the dirt at his feet. The last one was heading straight for his head, so he ducked down low to avoid it, some of the staff clapped at his quick reflexes while the small teen let out a sigh of relief, before the star tossing continued.
Ramona swore she would die if she saw more of this. She jumped up from her seat and ran over to the star thrower. "Excuse me sir could you please stop now" Ramona asked him. The star thrower looked perplexed for a moment then shrugged. "well for a pretty lady like you I don't think I could say no" He replied and walked away from where he had been standing before. Ramona smiled kindly then quickly made her way over to Lionel. Ramona looked down at her own form for a moment and realized that she was wearing the same dress she had on the night Lionel and her met. She wondered if this was Lionel's doing or her own.
For a moment, his eyes lit up excited, but then he avoided her gaze like he had been caught doing something terrible, “R-ramona? What are you doing here?” Pulling the throwing star caught on his sleeve, he stuck it back into the hole-riddled backdrop, all the while playing with the new hole in his sweater, “I’ve been away for a few weeks, why…how did you find me?” It seems that he wasn’t entirely aware this was a dream.
Ramona could only guess that he didn't quite understand that this was a dream. The way his face looked sher couldn't help herself and she nearly hugged him tightly. "I missed you so much so I tracked you down" Ramona told him kindly. "You know what else I think you've grown a bit since I saw you last" Ramona told him not quite realizing that she seemed to be talking to him as if he were a child. Though when he was short and looked so young it was easier to talk to him like that. She felt like she was a cougar when she talked to him any other way with him looking as he did.
“G-grow? N-no, not really. You…really missed me?” Lionel would have been beaming brightly at this, if he hadn’t realised that his face was now at boob height as she hugged him.
Ramona set him down. "Of course I missed you, your my best friend Lionel. I'll always miss you when you leave". Ramona reached out her hand and scuffed his hair a little bit. "Plus, when you left there was no one's hair to play with". Ramona looked over Lionel and remember why she talked to him in the first place, he was different and perfect.
