Hmm... For the time being, Dark, your CS is unacceptable. I'm going to need to know exactly what you mean by 'Regular US army issued NG gear.' List out the items. It's forgivable anyway if you miss out one or two even when the RP started, just don't use it as an opportunity to power play or something. Also, if you want the history on the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts after 2012, the U.S basically lingered on for a few more years before being forced to pull out in like 2015 due to severe financial problems and deficits. Ever since then, the place has always been the same- war with no U.S involved. Also, I'm not going to accept 'Unknown' as a unit. You must state the reason why it's unknown. Is it due to clerical error? Is it because he was supposed to be given a posting but didn't due to the Khan Meteorites? I'm going to need more detailed information on every field.
Also, guys, there's supposed to be a ton of others coming in from the RP this is based on, you know, just to inform you guys.

Well i wasn't sure of the name of the unit my character will be serving with after the Khan incident. Also the equipment is the standard military issued weaponry for the national guard units. Like the M4 carbine which is issued to the US military. I'm not going to make my character make use of a minigun...or the Fatman from fallout because that would be very lame.

You definitely have time to think about the unit. It doesn't even have to be a unit near Washington D.C. Unknown is still acceptable as long as you provide explanation. Also, as I said, I want you to list out the equipment and weapons specifically. If it's M4 carbine, then it's M4 carbine, I don't want to see 'standard issue NG rifle' or something. It's too abstract. How specific? For example, you could put in a rifle cleaning kit, but you don't have to go to great lengths to list out the individual tools in the kit, such as bottle of oil or something. On the other end of the spectrum, I don't want to see things like 'standard issue NG gear set'.

    Rank: Sgt.

    Name: Michael Geary

    Sex: Male

    Age: 28

    Race: Caucasian (Irish-American)

    Nationality: American

    Service Affiliation: U.S Army

    Unit: 8th Cav. Unit

    Vocation: Cav Scout

Position: Fire-Team leader. The LT or OIC hands down orders to Michael, he carries them out and sees them done no matter what.

Job Scope: As a Cav. Scout, Michael knows how to operate and repair Stryker's and other LAV's. He also has advanced map/orienteering abilities. Mildly good with his rifle, he is average at battle on foot, being more known for his abilities with LAV's.

Combat Experience: Michael had one tour in Afghanistan, but was lightly wounded during an Insurgent Ambush. He was recuperating within the U.S when all hell broke loose.

Personality Report: Gruff and quiet, Michael does not say much unless he ultimately has to. However, he is known to be good with other soldiers, and keeps up good camaraderie within his fire-teams. Having no sense of humor, Michael seeks to get the mission done and return back "home".

Background: Born and raised in Washington, D.C., Michael's father was a well known politician, running for and winning several small-time elections. His mother a stay at home mom, Michael grew up mostly alone, as his father was fiercely dedicated to his job. Playing football and being known as an all-around team player, Michael enlisted right out of High School, quickly rising through the ranks as he went through his service to the U.S Army. Turning down Airborne and Ranger contracts, Michael stayed relatively close to home, working through his service quietly. Michael was home when hell broke loose throughout the U.S, and Michael did what he could to help curb crime in his neighborhood. Now, after Doomsday, Michael has made a pact with himself to make the U.S better then the way it was when he came into the world.

Current Status: Waiting for mission briefing.

Physical Description: Standing at 6 ft., Michael is beefy, but not overly strong. He works out to make sure he is slim and athletic, but does not exercise religiously. Strong but also quick from his football practicing when he was a kid, he shaves his head almost completely, keeping to military tradition. Still wearing his uniform before Doomsday, Michael has a very visual scar on his left cheek, running from the top of his head down to his chin.

Equipment Loadout: Old LBE, Flak Jacket, Uniform, Helmet, ACOG Scope, several clips of ammo, Grenades and 2-3 Satchel Charges.

    Weapon Loadout:
    2-3 Pineapple Grenades
    ACR Semi-Automatic Rifle

Skills: Proficient with his rifle, but advanced skills in operating turrets, LAV's and light tanks. Also proficient in grenades and light explosives.

Hmm, would a government liaison character be acceptable? He wouldn't be part of the military per say, but he is working for the federal government and would be tagging along as a proper government representative/negotiator/translator. His mission would be to see the economic worth of certain areas since I'm planning on making him one of the men in the government trying to reestablish a proper functioning economy in the US.

Hmm... It'd change the dynamics of the RP and the group that will form, but sure, why not, give it a go.

Also, still waiting for those original guys to migrate over. I hope they didn't just express interest in reviving this RP and then suddenly disappear like the former GM himself.

Yea, I was kind of playing off the everything isn't combat part. I find the formation of new groups/governments in post-apocalyptic scenarios to be extremely interesting.

One thing you guys are forgetting, is that the main fighting in Iraq started in 2003, and ended in late 2011, so all your 29 year old characters would be way too young to have even been in the military. If you are 29 in 2021, subtract 18 years to back when started, you'd be fucking 11. Another 7 years to be 18, an it's 2011. Depending on months, you'd get MAYBE one tour in Afghanistan, probably not even that. In Afghanistan, it started in 2001. 29 in 2021, minus 20 years, your 9, so still too young to serve. Add nine years, it's 2010 and you might get a few years in Afghanistan, depending on the back story. So, you guys really need to pay attention to dates and years, because you guys are just wanting to have young characters that have years of combat experience, and it doesn't make sense. Either get older, or get less experienced. Characters around maybe 40 or 38 would have been old enough to have served in Iraq fully, and IN Afghanistan, depending on certain things.

    Rank: None

    Name: James Wolf

    Sex: Male

    Age: 33

    Race: Caucasian

    Nationality: American

Service Affiliation: US Department of Commerce

Unit: Bureau of Industry and Security

Vocation: Former Comptroller at Wall Street, Currently working as a strategic adviser for the remains of the Department of Commerce

    Position: Strategic Adviser

Job Scope: Gathering economic information and aiding the process of creating policies to help further the growth of the US economy.

Combat Experience: None, but before all the stuff happened James used to shoot at ranges as a hobby for two years when he was 23.

Personality Report: James is a nice guy, but he doesn't really talk much. You won't see him starting casual conversations that often. However, if you ever do something stupid that gets in the way of accomplishing something, then you better run cause James hates idiots who are more of a detriment rather than a benefit.

Background: James had a pretty normal life. He graduated from college as a double major in finance and consulting. Thus, he was able to find a job in Wall Street as an Analyst. The work was hard and had long hours, but it paid pretty well especially considering the economy during the time. 70k in his first year was pretty great, and each year he stayed with the company the amount grew. Knowing that the economy was weakening, James used almost all of his money to invest in gold. It proved to be one of the best choices he would ever make. As the global economy became more fragile, the value of gold continued to skyrocket. At that point, the US economy was practically nonexistent. However, 2017 brought forth another potential business opportunity. The government was desperate to contract as many people it could to make last minute shelters and repairs. James took his gold deposits and moved to DC where he essentially helped fund the contracts with his gold investments. James had essentially bought himself influence in the US government and a safe place to stay for 2020. Now, James is a part of the government and is one of the leading men trying to recreate some form of an economy in the country.

Current Status: Strategic Adviser trying to create a new economy policy in a new world.

    Physical Description:

    Equipment Loadout:
A Brief Case that contains the following:
A lot of papers, pencils and pens
    A Satellite Phone
    2 Disposable Cameras
ID that Identifies him as a Federal Government Employee
An old dark blue Kevlar vest issued to him by the DoD

    Weapon Loadout:
Glock 26 (For self protection/concealed carry)

    Skills:
    Persuasive
    Adept at Math
Can keep himself calm and maintain his composure
