voidbound university is the foremost learning institution for all kinds of offensive magic. unlike most of the other schools, it was not founded by one headmaster or another. rather, it has risen and fallen with the times. what is known is that it began in the age before the formal teaching of magic, as a the temple of a sect who worshiped voideus. in the centuries following, it went through many transformations, control shifting between fledgling leaders. this ended when Charles darkly entered the ruined temple. exactly what occurred within may never be known, but the results were clear. he emerged a changed man. declaring himself as the chosen of voideus, he destroyed those who had defiled the ancient and hollowed ground, and rose them up to rebuild the complex. five years passed, and voidbound university opened to the public. though many within the area were hesitant to have a school of necromancy and the once forbidden schools of void magic in their midst; Charles knew that there was another source of pupils. taking cue from the other academies, he made the voidbound archways. hewn from the very stone of the old temple, these arches were imbued with the power of the void itself. those with the qualities necessary to wield void magic, and the desire to escape or leave behind their lives would unconsciously summon the arches. upon walking through, they would find a new world, and the chance to gain power to carve out a new life. many rumors swirl about the university, including that the chambers of headmaster darkly contain the regalia of voideus. the three items that mark his existence on the physical plain.
