    Hey guys!

Firstly: LOVE the idea! Sounds really intersting and worth looking into. But: I'd actually prefer to play just the yokai part instead of playing a sort of two-man role. If anyone would be interested in teaming up, I'd love to play a Soul eater-like character ("cool" vibe, zynical/sarcastic. Not exessively obedient but interested in my masters well being). Anyone here interested in teaming up?^_^/

I think I'll bring Kotei back

    - - - Updated - - -

    Appearance:

    Name:
    Kōtei

    Type:
    Kami

    Personality:
Chaotic neutral seems to be the best way to describe this enigmatic Youkai. His allegiances seem to change according to his will and mood, but if his interest is kept, than you can more or less keep him on your side. Scheming and manipulative, Kotei always has a smile on his face, and a plan in his mind to get the reaction he wants from his hapless victim. He is a master of emotions and acting, although he seems to take more pity on women of the human race. This may explain his flirtatious behaviour to members of both genders. although he ever really acts on them when done on females, the male ones mostly being jokes. He draws the line at a near kiss. However, despite these faults, Kotei is intelligent and cunning like his fox ancestors, as well as quick and nimble on his feet and mind. He knows what is on the line, and will do anything in his power to stop it if it threatens those he wants to manipulate further.

    Pact:
The ritual to summon Kotei involves the use of his 'Hoshi no Tama', or as he calls it, his 'Essence Ball'. The possession of this ball essentially means that the fox will listen to the person for as long as they hold it, and being separated from it for too long will result in weakness and, eventually death. Contracting Kotei involves either finding his ball which is hard considering that all kitsunes keep it on them almost religiously, or he will offer it to the person after they have impressed him. After that the contractor may offer their soul in exchange for their services. Once the contract is complete, involving the contractor's death, Kotei will collect and move onto his next contractor.

    Powers:
Produces a powerful, blue flame that not only scorches everything it touches, but also burns away the soul, leaving nothing behind. Provides this power to his contractee as well, although both uses take up essence from the essence ball, which must be replenished in order for Kotei to survive, although thankfully (Or perhaps not) he has collected enough essence to use the power freely…for now. He can also telepathically communicate with his contractee and any allies, as long as he can imagine their face clearly. He also seemingly has powerful charisma, holding special sway over women, and can drive them to do whatever he wants after a few seductive words. His final ability seems not to help in combat, but in his means of persuasion. Kotei never seems to age, and his contractor also gains this ability.

    OR

    Appearance

    Name
    Ba’al

    Type
    Akuma

    Personality
Ba’al is cold, taciturn, and arrogant. He always has a smug smile on his face, and believes that everyone is below him, with only his contractor being on any level near him. He openly mocks those around him, and is a general pain in the neck. However, he is always willing to save injured allies by replacing lost blood, although they can expect an earful of boasting afterwards. Unwilling to believe that anyone is stronger than him, Ba’al is headstrong and refuses to back out of a battle once he has already begun.

    Pact
A blood sacrifice is required in order to summon Ba'al in the first place. It doesn't matter who's or what's blood it is, just that there is enough blood to form his body in the first place. The contract is complete once Ba’al’s blood has been consumed, thus infecting them with his own viral agent.

    Powers
Ba’al possesses control over blood, the life fluid flowing through everyone’s veins. However, he cannot simply control everyone’s blood. If he wants to control another’s blood, he must first infect them with his own, which contains a viral agent that slowly multiplies to infect all blood within a person’s system. This infection can come from anything, including direct infection through stabbing or slashing, or even drinking his blood. Once infected, Ba’al can control their blood as readily as his own, changing the antigen for transfusion into wounded allies, or just expanding it and bursting the enemy’s veins in one of the most horrifying deaths possible. Additionally, he can crystallize the blood to a consistency similar to bulletproof glass, which he can use as projectiles. It is not uncommon for him to slit his own wrist in order to obtain blood. Additionally, Ba’al can sense bloodshed, and melt into a pool of blood, before reappearing where there is enough blood to create his body, leading to many grotesque entrances into battle that have unnerved more than one weak yokai and forced them to submission without a single attack.

The powers that he passes onto his contractor include enhanced regeneration of blood and flesh, which can be accelerated by Ba’al himself, as well as greater endurance and strength from well oxygenated blood. They also somewhat possess Ba’al’s blood crystallization ability, able to harden it to the consistency of weak glass and control it, as long as it is formed from their own blood.

    Yokai

    Name:
    Yin

    Type:
    Akuma

    Appearance

    Background:
Yin is a rather young Yokai in comparison with his much older siblings. He never discloses his actual age, but from what information is available, his first appearance in the human world seems to date back to around a hundred years ago. Despite his relatively young age, Yin is considered to be among the more powerful Yokai there are.

Yin is an Akuma who was sealed into a wakizashi by a powerful Shokanshi and his Yokai the first time he entered the human realm around a century ago. Over decades this wakizashi remained in the family of the Shokanshi who had sealed Yin and was treated as an artifact that was passed down through the male generation. The male heirs of the family had to form a contract with Yin when they came of age by performing a specific ritual. Yins first contractors never performed the ritual in full though, out of fear of his powers and thus he never really contracted with them. Without a contractor to give him admission to leave the blade, Yin was always compelled to stay inside the blade. As time progressed and generations passed, the real meaning of the blade was starting to be forgotten and although the ritual of passing on the wakizashi was still being performed, later contractors thought of this as an old tradition without meaning, leaving the wakizashi to dust in the family shrine.

    Personality:
Despite being an Akuma, Yin is not a generally malovent being. While he does have a certain malice to him that undoubtedly shows from time to time, he could by no means be considered evil by nature. His intentions are usually considered egoistical, but if he forms a certain sense of attachement to someone he tends to act in favor of that particular person. Since he is an Akuma, he has trouble grasping many human concepts such as love, passion or selflesness. He occasionally displays a certain insight into human nature, but there are many things that he still can't understand about them.
In human terms his conduct would be considered zynical and rude. He appears to be uncaring about most things going on around him and his most prominent reaction to outer stimuli would be a grin and a cold gaze occasionally accompanied by a sly comment. During a conversation his heavy zynism is what stands out the most and he doesn't hold back with sarcastic remarks. He never reflects before talking, and is usually the kind to bark before he bites. Taking this into consideration, one could say he is in fact quite an honest Akuma, as he always speaks his mind freely without concealing his true opinion or intention. It is also noteworthy that he has never been proven to have told a lie.

Yin is often seen keeping his hands in the pockets of his jacket; whether this is a sign of insecurity or self confidence is not visible. He almost always wears a black suit with a red shirt that, together with his black hair and eyes that turn red when he is hostile, give him a threatening vibe when provocted.
When in public together with his contractor, he can have a tendency of standing just a tad behind his contractor and keeping close to them, glaring at anybody close. This, together with the suit and the hostile attitude can give him somewhat the vibe of a bodyguard. He himself is fully aware of this and choses to act it out if he feels the need to. This conduct is not necessarily a bad thing, as it appears to be Yin's equivalent of showing concern for his contractor.
Yin has a somewhat individualistic streak that is supported by the fact that his contract doesn't require him to stay close to his contractor. When not on a mission or clearly ordered otherwise, he will often leave the side of his contractor to stroll around the human world by himself. This attitude of his is a double edged sword, as he has no way of knowing if his contractor were to be in danger during his absence.

    Pact:
To form a contract with him, the contractor has to perform a ritual with the wakizashi involving various steps of artistic seeming motions and movements. During the last, crucial step the contractor needs to thrust the blade into one of their chi pressure points located in the middle of their chest. Through this, some of the life force of the contractor flows into Yin and some of Yin's life fore is transferred to the contractor. Once the pact is formed, the contractor may either wield Yin as a blade or summon him to their side at will.
Forming this contract comes, of course, at a price. Yin is considered a higher tier Yokai, and while he has much to offer, the toll is heavy. The process of exchanging life force has a much more significant effect on the human contractor than on othe Yokai, considering that Yokai can life for hundreds of years. By giving him a part of their life force and receiving Yin's powers in return, the contractors life is effectively shortened by a few years. The extend of this effect depends on how closely the contractor bonds with the Yokai..

    Powers:
Being an Akuma, Yin posesses supernatural strenght and speed. His strength is on the level of busting rocks or bending metal with his bare fists. His body can withstand a vast amount of blunt damage, to the point that things like hits and blunt weapons have almost no effect on him, but blades and bullets harm him the same way they would a regular human. He is able to run approximately at the speed of a cheetah at its fastest and he can jump higher than humanly possible. His body generally heals faster than a human body, but not at a superhuman speed. Apart from the physical attributes, Yin as able to control dark matter. He can put this to a variety of uses; among other things he can hide himself in the shadows from the enemies gaze, strike his foe with a shockwave or shroud himself into darkness and reflect damage. While the dark matter is quite powerful, its use quickly tires Yin, forcing him to keep its use to a minimum. Because of that, he mostly relies on his physcical prowess instead, using dark matter only if the situation requires it.

Yin is an Akuma that was sealed inside a wakizashi; If his contractor gives him admission to leave the blade at will, Yin will usually be outside the sword in his human form. If so, the blade is a normal seeming wakizashi that appears unfit for battle. If he posesses the sword again however and activates his powers, it turns into a more combat prone Katana that visually mimics Yin's appearance.

The unique bond Yin and his contractor share allows them to put Yin's strength to a variety of uses and shift his powers between them. While in his sword from, Yin transfers most of his powers to his contractor, making them stronger and faster and allowing them to use Yin effectively as a blade. The contractor is able to use dark matter, albeit to a lesser degree than Yin. There is also a certain risk to it for the contractor to use dark matter, as they might lose control over it if they don't give it their full concentration. If Yin is released from the blade, the contractor will still retain some of these attributes, although to a lesser extend and without the dark matter. There is a very interesting knack to releasing Yin however: If Yin leaves the blade but still keeps it in its activated Katana state, the contractor is able to slip into it in place of Yin himself. Yin may then either wield the blade with the contractor inside much like the contractor himself would, or keep it out of harm's reach. This form makes it very hard for any enemy to harm the contractor directly, as they have to go through Yin first. The process of Yin leaving the blade and the contractor entering it and vice versa can be performed at a very rapid rate if need be. This ability to quickly switch the active fighter in the midst of a battle makes Yin and his contractor a very interesting enemy.
It is of course also possible for the contractor to not enter the blade but leave the fighting to Yin if they so chose, as the Yokai is very much a potent fighter even by himself.

Yo harby lol, whee old timers! I still need to think of a character, and seeing as I am now Cel's barista, he probably has to be a human..

I can't tell if Myke is standing on something or did an amazing job of timing a jump. I'd like to imagine it was a jump
    Neither, he is floating
I'm pretty sure he's just that tall
No he was on a table

Sure thing! I'm working on my Yokai right now ^_^
What do you want to do about the pact? Blood pact? Or some other ritual? I was thinking of a demon sword-ish summoning^^

Some new faces! Welcome Steve42 and Amaralyn!

Harbinger it's good to see you again! You get white gloved at Central Station yet ^^?

    Edit:

Icci, you can write out your pact as you see fit. Not too many limitations on that one. However, if you go into darker and maturer territory, we'll need to talk about it then xD! Otherwise, it should be fine.

Myke, I was kidding! Make your character as you see fit! ... Non-human Baristas are welcome as well though ^^"

Hey everyone! I'm currently in the trenches of finals week at Uni, so I won't be around as often as I'd like to be. If my responses are slow; I assure you, I am not ignoring you. Promise! I'm just super crunched for time, so please bear with me!
