    Hi there. Welcome to the forum. I'm new here also and I see from your sig that you might be a fan of Tolkein. Have you ever read The Silmarillion?

    It tells the stories that took place before the events of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. Things that happened during the first and second ages. It's basically Tolkein's version of a creation myth. A very good read in my opinion it gives a great amount of insight into the world he created and answers a few questions that a person might thinks of while reading LOTR.
