Still looking. Alas.
Hi all!
So I may be new to the Roleplayer Guild but I am not new to roleplaying. I started when I was 13 or so, so that means I've been doing this for 10+ years. I haven't been roleplaying at all for the last four years due to college so I will admit I may be a bit behind the times on all the appropriate ways to go about finding partners or roleplays. But I can say that I'm dedicated to writing quality. Additionally I'm a creative writing major in college (close to graduation!) so I really am trying to hone my writing skill and my creative mind.
I will generally do most topics that are original, and all time periods. However I do not like cliche plots so if it's something like, oh I don't know, vampires, the plot needs to have original elements. I'm just not interested in things that sound stereotypical. Too many people are into that and they are missing out on a universe of amazing ideas. So I want to do something new, and fun.
Also you don't need to have a fully fleshed idea. I love to help create new plots so if you have some genre's you like we can come up with something together. But I do have some plot options in case anyone was wondering what I'd be interested in doing. But by no means do we have to do any of them. They are sort of like my testament that I'm a literate roleplayer.
I will roleplay over PM, email or AIM only. If you'd like to roleplay with me, send me a PM first. Then I'll give you my AIM or email if that's what you'd like to use.
I only roleplay one plot idea at a time. So if it's listed as taken then I will not roleplay it with someone else. However, if you like the base idea we can come up with another version together!
Also, romance factors in heavily into all my plots. I prefer it over sex. And I will never participate in mindless or random sex that doesn't fit in with the plot.
Plot Ideas:
If you can't add some uniqueness and twists to these base plots then we will not work well together. You have to be able to add something (preferably more than one thing) to the roleplay in order to make it interesting! I LOVE not knowing your villains/characters ulterior motives! It allows me to roleplay from a limited perspective which is more realistic.
1. The Privus sector's largest space-station sits at the nexus of six wormholes. It functions as the main transit center, marketplace and research facility for the region. With over ten thousand permanent residents it's also one of the largest space-stations ever. As such, it also has a seedy underground. Anna is a lightbender. An artist who uses special electromagnetic gloves to create light and steel sculptures for wealthy clients. Though as a human the stereotype of her race has made it hard for her to stay in business. On a space-station mostly filled with aliens it's hard for her to compete, though as the best lightbender in the section it's been hard for the wealthy to really ignore her. One night, after she closes her shop two representatives of the second largest mob boss on the station come to her with an offer. Redecorate the bosses office or have her store and herself blown up. As the Mob Boss, what are your motivations? What are your goals to move up to the most powerful boss on the station? And how will you deal with a woman who does not like to be blackmailed? (I'd like there to be some kind of rival/antagonistic relationship between the two as well as an affection that grows over time as they are around each other/go through things. I'd prefer your character to act the part of the mob boss, it doesn't make much sense for him to be overly kind, yet not totally black-hearted.)
2. After a vandal-set fire destroys Bea's townhouse and severely burns thirty percent of her body, Bea heads to the only place she feels safe. Her family cabin on the Alaskan wilderness is the only place secluded enough to bring her peace. Little does she know that only fifty miles away is an underground spy torture facility. For twenty years a Russian (or some other country) spy has been held there and tortured along with many others. When a gas generator explodes during a power outage he is able to escape into the woods, eventually coming across Bea and her cabin. Will he capture her and use her cabin as a resting place to recover? Will he lie to her about who he is and ask for help? When he finally is able to contact his Russian comrades what will he do with her? Or what will his government do with her? (You can take your Russian spy in any direction you want. Bea is flexible enough to deal with a whole host of situations!)
3. The Arctrax have come to Earth. On board is a very powerful telepathic seer who has been having visions of a red haired furless/scaleless (depending on the alien you choose) creature who has been putting out intense feelings of wanderlust in the the universe. As a generally peacefully, but very physically fit species, he understands the desire to travel and see something new. So at night, in this creature's dreams he comes to her and they talk of anything and everything. Every morning that Sam wakes she remembers the male alien in her dreams and wishes more than anything else that he is real. After many, many nights of these dream talks the telepathic seer goes to his Captain and submits the human race as a good one for first contact. That's when his species puts out the call to all of humanity via every country's government and invites them to meet the Arctrax in neutral territory. On a floating ship they put far away from any countries borders in the Pacific Ocean. When the US accepts the invitation to send a representative (or a few) to the Arctrax's planet, who will the seer choose? And is he exactly who he appears to be or is he someone more important? And what will Sam think when she finds out her seer is real? (For antagonists we could have a group of Arctrax anti-alien radicals (or human anti-alien radicals), and/or someone who knows and hates who the seer is, and/or one of the other representatives has unpure motives.)
4. Cooking has always been Lily's thing. As a teenager she worked in her parent's restaurant and after graduating from the Lenôtre Cooking University in France she immediately receives a most tempting offer. Come to a castle in the most northern part of Scotland and be the personal chef of an undisclosed client. The salary? Half a million dollars a year and a $20,000 bonus up front. With four younger sisters who all want to go to college and parents on the verge of retirement, Lily can hardly refuse. When she gets there she finds a dark castle, few secretive servants, and a sullen and reclusive Master who refuses to leave his rooms and speaks to her only through an intercom. Though the situation distresses her, the conversations with her employer and the pay makes it hard for her to really consider leaving. How will this relationship develop? Who is this man really and why does he hide? And what will happen when they do, eventually, meet face to face? (Lots of possibilities for antagonists. Options could include one of the other servants, someone who hates the recluse or caused him to become reclusive, another rich neighbor who wants to steal Lily away (for romantic, jealous, or cooking reasons). Please be prepared to add something to this plot as I get a lot of requests for it and it's starting to become mundane.)
5. Lalaine Spencer is a newly deputized police officer. It's ten years after the Zombie virus has made it's appearance and as the infection has spread it's created flesh-desiring yet fully cognisant zombies. A new division has been formed and Lain, as she is otherwise known, is it's newest member. But the world of 2712 isn't the same as today. Sexism has come back in a slightly different form--more passive aggressive than anything else. And while Lain is a police officer the department requires a skirt, as does society. Reluctantly she has been given a position as an Outrider. Given a much more experienced mentor who will be her partner for the foreseeable future. And a large, muscled, dark-natured man is exactly what she gets. These two will fight crime, kill and arrest Zombies, and deal with the 'times' all from the back of his standard issue Police motorcycle. ((This plot is darker with an almost SinCity/iRobot feel. It's a juxtaposition of technology and pre-tech moral values. It can go in any direction you'd like. My character in this roleplay is humorous so expect dark jokes and sarcasm.))

Currently looking for literate, long-term roleplay partners with unique ideas.
I could probably do scenario's one, three, four and six. I'm horrible at contemporary stuff, since I always end up over researching for the character. So if I played a Russian spy, you would have to wait for me to read up on everything related to Russian espionage. I probably wouldn't play number five to satisfaction, because if you give me Scotland and a castle I'll turn it into Lovecraft.
1) Motivations would depend on the situation on the station. Are humans a lower-class or just too much of a minority to matter? Either way I see it as more interesting for him to be human somehow. Perhaps he pretends to be an alien. Has one of his enforcers pretend to be him in public, or only communicates through second channels. His main motivation would then be to not get caught, while still maintaining power over his operation. So getting closer to Anna would be something of a danger to him. Or we could play it more straight, and him simply being someone nobody screws with and is quickly clawing his way to the top. In this light I would probably play him as an Alien. I'd probably have drugs be the main reason for his rise so quickly. Perhaps he tries to get Anna addicted to make her more malleable. I'd need to see the setting a bit more to make a more educated decision.
3) Again I'd need more info on how you want to utilize the setting. I imagine it would be pretty low-fantasy, sorta Saint George vibe? I wouldn't want to play an all-powerful D&D style Dragon (who aren't all-powerful at all, but given crap ton of perks). I would like a chance to build the Dragon's from ground up, without any influence from contemporary works. As for the relationship, I'd like him to actually feel an almost instinctual need to kill her. Perhaps Dragon's were created to keep humanity in check, but like a mutating virus they have grown an immunity to the process.
4) I'd either play him as the leader, or future leader of the Arctrax. I'd play them as the sort of benevolent up-lifter race that is usually extinct in most sci-fi settings. I would probably go a little crazy with this one actually, because I have a lot of pent-up high concept sci-fi ideas that I haven't been able to form into a playable setting. I'd want the antagonists to actually be one of the races the Arctrax have uplifted that are opposed to the idea of uplifting humanity. As for the Seer himself, he would be someone who get joy out of the experience of others. He's got a very warm personality that will offset his alien appearance (going with the Protoss look of no mouths or nose). I also want him to be someone who is very aware of how amazing first contact is to new races. If you watch Doctor Who, I imagined the relationship the Doctor has with his Companions. A slice of business mixed in with what is essentially a fun optimistic experience.
6) This one could be fun. Sort of like Judge Dredd meets 28 Days Later. Like Dredd I would reveal very little about him at the start, even to you. He'd just be your partner who is quiet, violent, and mysterious. His inner monologue would always take place in the present, with only shards of the past coming up every so often.
Well I could certainly work within your ideas on 1 and 4. Both of which are interesting takes on my basic idea. I think we'd need a good amount of OOC work done before starting a roleplay. Which I'm more then happy to do, but I think should be done via PMs rather then on this thread. I don't know how well a human mob boss would work within the scene as I know it but I do think it could be adjusted to fit that idea if you'd prefer it.
Pm me and lets talk about it in more depth!
