Nomen merely sat in silence most of the time. He had nothing to talk about. Mabye he would play his... Right that was gone. How about reading a... No those were still at the orphanage. He waited for quite a while actually. There was not much to do but listen to others stand in silence as two students and a teacher commune with each other. Well it was more like two trying to talk to one. In the end it was only a girl and the teacher. It was rather quiet with the exception of that girl. Soon a blue creature appeared over head, flapping its wings. It flew around and teased the loud boy before continuing on its way. "Yes that would work." Instinctively Nomen reached for his bag... which was in the water fall. "No paper...No brushes either... oh dear this will be a rather uneventful day for me(other than the fact that you have just entered a school of magic.) I assume I must capture this creature's beauty with only my eyes." He had no idea he was speaking out loud. Then they were called for lunch. It was not what he would have expected from a magic school. Pizza... He was never one to complain so he didn't mind. However, he did wonder if they had some tea.

Zephyr smiled at the sight of the small blue dragon flitting around. The way it tumbled and flew through the air reminded him of the exhilarating feeling he had whenever he was mid flip. He felt so in control, but at the same time, there was no real way to regain his balance in the air in that split second. The creature flew around his head and he tried to follow it with his eyes. His rumbling stomach took him out of his reverie, and Zephyr went back to following the different conversations, putting food on his plate while doing so. The group was certainly quirky, and he knew that making friends wouldn't be easy. He was really interested in the possibility of him learning magic, though, and seeing that his dad would probably be too drunk to even notice that he was gone, he didn't mind that he couldn't go back.

coughing a bit to clear her throat, Hannah stood up, addressing the room as a whole. "hello students, my name is Hannah Holly, and i teach classes on normal and magical healing. i am also the school nurse, so if you get injured or sick, don't try and heal yourself without supervision, come to me." at this point she smiled, "and with that serious business taken care of, i look forward to meeting each and every one of you and wish for a long and mutually beneficial relationship." at this she sat down, maybe a little harder than normal.

You know, Blu had phased out for the past few minutes, maybe hours. He really didn't like giving away his hoodie. And his bracelets... And his wallet. And keys. And iphone 5. So, rather then letting them all disintegrate, he hoped they would stay if he stuffed them all behind a hidden rock, which he could come back to later if he ever left this place. He grudgingly put on his gown and bracelet and followed them, on a magic carpet and to some castle... Good god what the fuck was this? You know, usually, he would go into shock at such a thing, probably sit down and cry...But something told him with these crazy fools they would probably kill him if he did that. Best put on your brave face for the younger ones, right?

"Hey, whats your name?" The young man asked in a calm voice, nodding his way towards Alex. Might as well put on a good face, maybe he could use some of those old psychology techniques to get him to shut up. Or not. Who knows. Coming from a guy in a fucking gown there really wasn't a lot of options at this point. He was in no mood to argue though, and he doubted anyone would miss him on the other side of the painting. Except the guy who wanted the books. Yeah, he would probably be right pissed.

Ok, so now that the teachers have all introduced themselves Allison wondered if now should be a good time to ask her questions. She wasn't sure she could eat anything yet if she didn't get her answers. That is to say she was hungry. She just couldn't get her mind off these questions that came to mind on her way here. Yeah a few of them got answered. Like the fact she got here from touching the painting. And how she's stuck here now. The decontamination thing still confused her. She figured it was because they all used to live in a completely different world but still wouldn't hurt to ask. And the bracelets were never explained either. They were just handed the bracelets and told to go sit on the magic carpet.

"I have a couple of questions." She stated since by now it was bothering her. She had held the questions in long enough. "What was being 'decontaminated'? And what are these bracelets for?" Allison was hoping one of them would answer her. She didn't really care who. And for some reason it seemed these questions didn't pop into the others' head and Allison wondered about that too.

Rhett knew it was coming, the big argument, a heated debate, an annoying conversation that he knew would end poorly for everyone. Mom’s finger hovered slightly over the remote, an old rerun of The Simpsons playing in the background, and he knew the longer her hand was over the remote the more shit he was about to be in. Call it a noticed behavioural pattern due to long association. This was Rhett’s cue to eat faster and to hope that her hand retracted from the mute button any second now. Come on. He’s not in the mood for this.
“I talked to Dr. Baird today,” Mom said.
Fuck, he mentally exclaimed as she pushed down on the remote, the TV going silent as Homer began strangling Bart. He knew he’d sorely regret talking to his therapist about anything, but then again, he also knew there were things he would have kept confidential, so he was actually curious as to what he told her. Then again he also knew that it would be nothing good. Just can’t win sometimes.
“He said that… well, he had some pretty interesting things to say, Rhett.” She kept her eyes on the TV, the ceiling, the wall, the fridge, anything but him. “Do you have anything to say for yourself?” Was that a trick question?
“Thanks for sending me to a therapist, and I’m sorry that I actually need a therapist?” Seeing the look Mom gave him after that he knew now wasn’t a time where she appreciated his snark. “Fine, I’ll bite. What did he say?” Big mistake, what he should have said was 'I don't care, I'm going for a walk'. Now that would have fixed everything.
“He said…”, again, her eyes were anywhere but his. “He said you think you’re going to kill someone.” Rhett didn’t respond for a few seconds, tilting his head as he tried to figure out just how the hell she jumped to that conclusion.
“You know, that is interesting, because those weren’t my words at all. Are you sure those were the words he used?” This was why he didn’t like his mother, she always came to these extreme conclusions about the world around her, and most especially, him. Like how he came to get a therapist, all he did was show an unnatural interest (he likes to avoid the word ‘obsession’) in serial killers and the concept of death at a young age, and suddenly Mom decided that was a good time to finally start worrying about him. Come on, there wasn’t a whole lot strange with that, he was 13 years old at the time, why was it weird for him to have been intrigued by it?
    “The words don’t matter, I—“
    “Yes they do.”
    “This isn’t a joke, Rhett.”
“What I actually said to him was that I follow a strict set of rules to stop myself from doing anything wrong. Honestly, that seems like something you should be happy about. But instead you’re arguing with me. See, this is why I need therapy.”
“Why would I be happy about you needing to follow rules to stop yourself from killing people? Why would I be happy about a psychologist telling me that my son is a sociopath? Why would I—“

“A sociopath? He called me a sociopath?” See now, that was actually kind of cool to finally get an official diagnosis.
“…Antisocial personality disorder,” she said, voice flat. So basically, the longer way of saying ‘sociopath’. “It’s a psychosis. My… my son is a psychotic.” So, she didn’t do her research, then.
“APD is primarily defined by a lack of empathy,” he figured that made it sound a bit better than ‘psychotic’. "It means I don't connect emotionally with other people. I wondered if he was going to pick that one." Despite him trying to soften the blow so Mom didn’t do anything rash, she seemed hell-bent in labelling him as a crazy sociopath.
“This is… my fault, isn’t it? I knew I shouldn’t have let you into the mortuary as a kid, It probably messed you up for life. What was I thinking?” The Asprey family, Rhett, his little sister, who was locked in her room right now, and their mother, Penny, all lived above a mortuary. It was, per say, the family business, and Rhett had helped working downstairs on bodies for quite a while now. Although he wasn’t really able to do much when he was a child, just sweeping and cleaning, really.
“It’s not the mortuary. You’ve worked there for how long? And you haven’t killed anyone yet.”
    “I’m not psychotic, though.”
“Then you’re changing your story. You said the mortuary messed me up, but now you’re saying the mortuary messed me up because I was already messed up? Christ, I can’t win either way, can I?” As Mom rubbed her forehead, he knew something terrible was going to be brought up.
“Look, I want to help. Here’s a new rule: no more helping out in the mortuary.” Rhett stared blankly at her, before the full weight and implications of what she just said settled in.

    “What?!”
“I should never have let you help in the back room in the first place…”
“But I—“ But what? What could he say that wouldn’t just shock her even more? He couldn’t say that he needed the mortuary, and that helping out and working there was in itself, a vital and important rule. That he needs the mortuary so he can be connected to death in a safe, ‘healthy’ way? She’d kick him out of the house altogether. He didn’t understand why she was doing this. Before he could say anything, the phone in the kitchen rang, and Mom got up with a small frustrated sigh. She came back a few minutes later.
“There was a murder, they’re delivering the remains here in 15 minutes. I need to get downstairs. We’ll finish this later.”
“I want to help, you’ll be up all night if you do it alone.”
“Rhett, no. The bodies in very poor condition, it’s going to be very disturbing, and you’re a clinical psychopath.”
“Ouch, Mom.” Okay, he needed out of this place before he started fantasising about stabbing his mother in the side of the head anymore than he already was. Take a walk. Calm down. Maybe go to that art exhibition.

Rhett had been going to this exhibition quite a lot lately, but he wasn’t entirely sure why. Art wasn’t something he really ‘got’, the intentions of the artist were always kind of lost on him, and he could never understand their point of view. He couldn’t really understand anyone’s point of view. But there was this one painting that was flashing, one that was… enchanting. One that he had come down to stare at a few times a week for an unhealthily long amount of time.
Caldwells Academy Of Magical Talent-Please Touch to Enter Inside!
Other people’s sense of humour always just baffled him, although he would always go along with the ‘joke’ in conversation, he never quite understood why it was supposedly funny. Like this, how was this supposed to be any way humorous? Perhaps when someone naively actually tried to touch it like the absolute idiot they were someone somewhere found that funny? Like he was doing just now? Dammit. With a flash, the world around him disappeared, as he fell into the painting.

His time here so far had been… eventful. There was a carpet, a maze, a strip, an boy angry about the whole situation, and other people who were defying everything he had learnt about human reactions to strange events, as they were accepting it a bit quickly, a bracelet, and now they were in a dining hall, asking the ‘teacher’s questions. The time in between might as well have been a blur. His first thought was that he had been kidnapped. His second was that the first thought was ultimately correct. They could say shit like ‘you chose to come here’ on a fucking technicality, who the hell would have thought touching the painting would have actually done this? He thought a reaction of people would have been outrage, a big cry of how their parents/siblings/pet raccoon were waiting for them and would be worried where they were.
The lack of such a response, save for that one boy, made Rhett realise that he really didn’t understand people at all.
His response to this all, was that might be a perfect way for him to keep himself under control. It was… a distraction. Only problem was, there were way too many people here. It would be difficult. But then again, he’d kept himself under control his entire life. He wasn’t about to slip up now, even if the monster behind the wall screamed for blood.
"I have a couple of questions," a rather pretty girl with long and fine light brown hair asked. He thinks he heard her introduce herself before when she was getting annoyed at that angry boy. Allison, he thinks it was. “What was being 'decontaminated'? And what are these bracelets for?"
“Actually”, Rhett spoke for the first time, “I think we have some other things to discuss. No offence to you teachers, or to you, Allison” he tried to be polite, but of course, didn’t really care if he offended, “but I think you have rather poorly explained all this. You have said nothing so far; why we are here, why we have this ‘magic’, why we need to learn it, etcetera, etcetera. I think instead of us just flying random questions out, you should explain it, in full, right now.” While Rhett thought it was strange that more people didn’t have the same reaction as that angry boy –he really needed to learn these people’s names-, Rhett himself remained calm, and rather expressionless. The irony was not lost on him. “You know, for the sake of… brevity.”

Suddenly the storm hit with a vengeance. Then the main lights went out, leaving everyone the darkest of the darkness. In fact, the darkness was so dark that the room seemed to have an eerie midnight glow and yet one could not see his or her own fingers wriggling in front of their own face.

"SILENCE TO ALL WHO IS IN THIS ROOM!" was suddenly heard from Lady Rosewoode's voice which boomed louder than the storm outside.

"Sapphire, light the wall scones, please. Everyone will be quiet for if you do try to speak, you will find that your voice box will not work. All questions will be answer in due time. Everyone will eat or starve as they wish. But if you do not eat within a few meals, you will be force fed through a feeding tube. The feeding tube will be placed in your mouth and heads to your stomach. You will be forced to watch the slimey grey substance slide down the tube as you lay there strapped down to a not so comfortable bed. So please try to enjoy the variety of pizzas that the Chef has prepared for us. We shall have butterbeer. In spite of it's name, you will not get drunk on it."

Sapphire had the torches lit by now and the torches gave off an eerie blue glow to everything and everyone.

"Now with that unpleasant information handed out and I can think straight since there are no distractions, I shall allow everyone to get their pizza and eat while I give you your first lecture. The lecture will be about why all of us are here. The first thing we must do, is to give thanks to the Creator or no matter how good the food is, it will be like sawdust in our mouths.

Creator, please forgive these young people for their actions. They are scared, lost, homeless and have many conflicting emotions at the moment as I did when you woke me out of my deep sleep. Please help me to teach these young people with the help of Jonhston and Hannah. Guide my footsteps so that I will not fall far from the path of educating these young people in the ways of magic. Place words in my mouth that will encourage and strengthen their skills from this day forth. Help me to help them for I have not been around other beings for many decades.

Bless this food that we are about to eat. May we use it to gain strength and knowledge in the magics which we posses. I do thank you for what you have done for me even though I do not always agree with your ways. Guide me so that I may understand. Take care of us as we begin our new life together." Lady Rosewoode spoke in a firm yet warm tones.

Jacques stood off to the side, waiting to serve the occupants of the castle to which he had been called to. After Lady Rosewoode spoke to The Creator, he stomped on the floor. A massive table came up through the floor, full of different pizzas. The aroma floated through the air tempting all to eat and drink to their fullest.

Lady Rosewoode walked over to the fireplace where she knelt to light the wood. Once the wood began to burn, she stood back from the fireplace. She looked over the dining room to see what everyone was doing. She was very nervous by now but she had her duties to fulfill. She took a small bundle out of her pocket and toss it into the flames. the flames began to dance merrily as they ate the bundle. Once the flames settled down again, Lady Rosewoode began to speak.

"I shall start where The Creator woke me from a very deep sleep in my hidden cave which was deep in the mountains of my old world. If you want to see events unfold in living colors, watch the fireplace. It will show you scenes from my past." Lady Rosewoode spoke as she walk to the buffet table. She sniffed at the pizza. It was not to her likeing but since most young people enjoy pizza on Earth, she choose the meal more for them than herself. She took two slices and sat down. A butterbeer appeared next to her plate.

In the fireplace, a scene began to form.

"This is where I once lived before I was awaken and brought here. The Creator has been very patient with me in explaining what was needed to be done and why.
Before I went to sleep for ever so many decades, I decided that I had enough of the world. I had lived through various wars and was the cause of one. I came from a time or era of magic. Magic was all that I had lived for. To teach it was my greatest goal in life. But so many of my students turned evil or negligent in the ways of magic. After a while, I gave up on life. Since I could not kill myself, I made a bed and closed it."

"I had turned my back to not only life and my one time passion but on The Creator. I do not know the gender of The Creator so please do not ask. As far as I can tell The Creator is androgynous. Anyways, The Creator woke me and I was not happy. I was allowed to rant and rave as I have allowed you to do. Then I too was silenced and was told what I had to do. The Creator had a new world, this world which needed to be inhabited by young people and selected staff to bring magic back in the various worlds. The Creator has a vision and I was one of the few she chose to help fulfill it. The Creator held out her hand and showed me the new world where I was to live."

"As I listen to The Creator, I began to understand the whys and hows. I felt my old strength come back into my body and was no longer world weary. I actually became excited and agreed to the terms. I was taken here and I have lived here for a year. Inventing and Creating things that I would need for a new Academy. I have finished my job of creating the things needed and The Creator gave the needed magic to one of my paintings. The very one that each of you somehow touched." Lady Rosewoode finished her lecture with a weary sigh.

"I will now take questions but one question at a time." Lady Rosewoode snapped her fingers and all could talk once more.

Tsukiko was feeling more and more like the boy who had shouted had been right. They were pretty much kidnapped. If she had known that touching the painting would actually transport her into another world, she wouldn't have touched it. She hadn't made a choice, she had just... This couldn't be called making a choice. And she had a feeling that a lot of them were thinking the same, even thought that boy had been the only one to be loud about it.

Tsukiko wanted to shout and fight too, but she didn't have the courage to do so. She was scared that the head lady would just... lock her up or... she didn't know. And where could she even go? This was a new world, with flying carpets and dragons in it. And the head lady had said they'd starve out there... And there was the storm. There was no way Tsukiko was going out now.

Possibly the most absurd thing right now was the pizza. Magic, kidnapping, another damn world... but they'd be eating pizza of all the things. This world seemed to know all about their world, yet theirs knew nothing about this one. It frightened Tsukiko. And the Creator? As in God?

She started to cry quietly, trying to wipe her tears away without anyone noticing. She was too scared to control herself.

Alexandria listened to Lady rosewoods tale and ate. She finished eating by the time the head mistress had finished he life story and spoke up "I have but one question. Why all of us. You say there is magic inside all of us but I do not believe so I mean look at all of us. I believe that diversity can be magic in all. I look at things in an artistic form and I believe magic comes within. Is this the magic you are speaking of? I know what I had seen earlier but that can all be faked and set into place but I would like to know what exactly we are doing here and why all of us." She sits back down and continues eating.

Right after she had asked the questions another boy had spoken up. Allison did agree that things were poorly explained. In fact, nothing was really explained. Then of course the lights had gone out because of the storm. A few minutes later, Lady Rosewoode was telling her story. She had to have heard what both Allison and Rhett had said but it went totally ignored. She was starting to become very irritated with this yet again. Despite the fact that she found some of this to be quite interesting. It didn’t change that she wanted some things explained. And after hearing what Rhett had to say, she agreed that they should have explained things right away.

She did get herself to eat her pizza while the head mistress was speaking though. After the story was over, they were finally able to ask questions. Alexandria was the first one to voice a question. “In addition to Alexandria’s question. I agree that things should have been explained right when we first came here. Some of us have the feeling of being kidnapped even if only one of us voiced that. Why was any of this not explained to begin with?” Allison had questions about the painting too. It wasn’t like she touched it intentionally, so how in the world was it her decision?
