Mass Effect: A Renewed Galaxy IC

Leonidas groaned, it had been 7 hours since he and the head of the Spectres had docked at Omega, he had been assured that everything else had already been prepared for, and that they would start right away. Regardless, he was standing in an empty warehouse where the event was planned to take place, while his superior was in another room, doing... something.

"Sir when is this going to start? I know time matters little on Omega, but surely we could have begun as soon as we docked." The novice Spectre spoke loudly

"Hold up Arikus, I just need to finish these Calibrations..." The head of the Spectres closed down his omni-tool and entered into the warehouse proper "Is going to be a big night, can't be too careful." Garrus said cheerfully as he glanced around the room "Aria has assured me no mercenary groups will interfere, even though I'm willing to bet they'd turn tail and run if they so much as saw me anyway." The aging Turian joked, referring to the time he and his vigilante group managed to bring their own brand of justice to the station.

Leonidas just looked around, towards the entrance, a number of Krogan started allowing spectators and applicants in for the first exams, it was entirely like what he did to get inducted, he just took a few tests in a solitary room and went on one mission to get inducted. For others, the process seemed quite different.
Back, sorta. not gunna be involved in too many RPs for a while, still getting my writing skills back.

The Major was droped off an hour prior to arrival. He however was searching the city to find a decent mean. The people often joked about how feminine he looked. One thing the Major was known for was Photon. However he really was not carrying any weapons. All he had were his skills, looks, armor, and Biotic powers. He Went to the nearest docking place to get a ride off Omega. He just wasn't getting the excitement he was looking for. All he saw was boring people with meaningless jobs or scandals in his point of view.

" What I would do to get some fun around here... Or was the spectre just a rumor...? " He spoke vaguely.

    Uugh!
A moving mound under a blanket in a dark room came to life stretched his arm and woke up.
His eyes blinked a few times to get used to the lacking lighting of his apartment in the slums.
As usual he woke up moments before his alarm clock started...

    *Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep.*

There it went. The most excruciating sound in the universe.
Or at least that was Rourke's honest opinion.
He turned his attention to the clock and deactivated it.

    *Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep.*

    Hmmm? The beeping continued.
Only this time it had a different rhythm.
    A less urgent one

    "Aria."

Rourke answered the call on his omni tool. Aria's face popped up in a small display.

"Big day today young man." She said with a cold distilled voice.
"Ugh. I'm not that young by human standards. Miss." Rubbing his forehead trying to clear his mind.
"All the more reason to call you young man, young man."
"You're on the clock today... Well actually that's every day. Guess I should be getting used to that by now."
"You could say that. Enough chatter. Your assignment." Aria said after which her display closed.
    So cold that woman.

*Bleep* Rourke's omni tool chimed. A quick hand motion later the assignment showed up.

    R,

Today our friends are holding a recruiting drive on our territory.
You might've heard about it. Or figured it out for yourself considering
the assignments of the past few weeks. We're assuming everything goes according to
plan but we expect the unexpected as usual. You are to act as liaison between me and
the friend in charge. Your duties cover managing our efforts in the affair,
making sure everything goes smoothly, making sure these friends leave as soon and as
happy as possible and of course extracting due justice if you deem it required.
You have a free reign to do as you please, so long as you don't screw this up.
Start by inspecting the muscle and from there on you're responsible for this mess.

    A.

As soon as Rourke read and closed the message Aria popped up again.
    "Any questions?" Aria inquired plainly.
"None as usual." Rourke replied confidently.
"That's why you're still employed." Aria replied with a hint of sneer.
Rourke's face broke into a smile and he grinned as he turned off the communication window.

Okay what should I wear today? Body armor is a no go.
I'm enjoying an official occasion so I'd better dress to impress, not to mention to be underestimated.
He skipped his armor stand and approached his closet. It was filled with clothes from very decent to slum scraps.
There was a button on its back board. Rourke pushed it. A reasonably sized window sprung open.
He opened it completely revealing a small cache of under clothing body armor.
It was no where near as effective as regular body armor but it would stop at least the first few bullets.
He picked up some items and then closed the window, obscuring the cache from sight again,
and started rifling through his clothes until he found his nicest suit.
Which was a bit under appreciated, because he always told other people it was his cheapest suit.
That aside, he quickly got dressed and put Betsy, his trusty M-6 Carnifex, Which was subtly hidden under his left arm.
Once dressed he grabbed a fresh cigar from his now half empty box, lit it and walked out the door.

"How are we doing?" Rourke asked, looking the Krogan right in the eye without a sign of fear or resentment.
"Bored. When do we get to kill something? Or at least break some bones?" The Krogan complained.
"Shut up, I won't have your whining." Rourke said forcefully. Following it up by putting his cigar in his mouth.
"Yes sir." The Krogan replied immediately. A touch of irritation in his voice.
"I'll tell you a secret though, if shit hits the fan you'll be in for quite the honorable glorious battle.
There are no lightweights attending this meeting." Rourke added with a smile.
"That's more like it Rourke!" The Krogan replied, obviously excited at the prospect of an actual challenge.
    "No names... Weyrlock Hrundi."
"What did you do that for?" The Krogan replied agitated.
"Now we're in the same boat if someone is actually listening in, you tool! Now let me through. I want to talk with our friends." Rourke hissed out while pushing the Krogan aside.

Omega the cesspool of organic life it takes something of considerable note to make it's denizens uncomfortable or worry, and that was exactly what was happening at the moment. As not terribly far away from the Specter recruitment warehouse a geth drop ship had docked and 1 geth Prime and 4 geth soilders entered Omega all of them fully quipped the prime and one of the soldiers carrying rocket launchers. They then proceeded to roam the near by area moving in a X pattern soldiers on the outside Prime in the middle. None of them had there weapons drawn but any who had encountered a hostile geth knew it wouldn't take very long for that to change if they needed it too. It seemed to those that were watching that they were scouting out the primiter of the warehouse district as they stopped at each entrance to and from the district communicating in the clicks and beeps that the geth of old were know for.

While the 5 geth had drawn most of the attention of the local populace a lone Geth exited the drop ship, his platform similar to a Pyro but obviously modified, it tapped a few keys on it's Omni tool before a stealth cloak obscured it from view. Moments later a message was sent out bouncing through all open channels making virtually impossible to track who sent it. Several Omni tools on this level of Omega received a simple message: "Awaiting signal". Most people that got the message were clueless as to what it could mean, but one person smiled inside when it arrived in their inbox.

Zathira had been sitting in one of the many booths on the first floor of Afterlife she had managed to tune out the music but the blinding strobe lights were causing a headache, her cool blue eyes watched the many humans, turian and asari dance like fools drunk or not. Earlier she had been sitting in the lower levels of afterlife watching her race belittle themselves by shaking their bodies in front of the other species faces. Eventually Zathira moved herself up to the VIP lounge it wasn’t much different than the other two floors of the club except that on the first floor none of her kind was up and dancing on tables but the same loud music and blinding lights were still going on. The whole time the asari had been sitting there she had been approached by a drunk human whom she had turned away with a few threats of ripping off his quads and a semi-drunk turian who she tried to get rid of in a semi-polite way she could especially with that krogan blood flowing through her but ended up punching the poor turian in the face. After those two incidents nobody dared to approach the short tempered asari.

After a few hours of watching everyone with a bored expression upon her face the young asari stood up and left afterlife and began making her way through the slums of Omega. Out of nowhere her omni-tool began beeping reminding her of an appointment she needed to keep. Raising her left arm Z began to type on her omni-tool causing it to stop making noises and pulled up the address of where she was suppose to go.

Awesome signature was made by a friend of mine off another site!!!!

Latoria made her way through the streets on Omega her robes flowing out behind her as she walked and her spines were highly decorated with blue gems. She was currently making her way towards the docking and shipment area of Omega where she was supposed to be negotiating a better price for a shipment.

The streets of Omega were their normal busy selves, people of all races going to and fro, some selling items, others roaming in gangs. Latoria made her way past Afterlife the large club that was almost like the beating heart of Omega. Even from this distance she could hear the pounding music and could smell drunken people so with her head held high Latoria quickly walked passed. Continuing her quick pace Latoria made her way into the back alleys, her eyes quickly adjusting to the dim light as she made her way towards the dock.

Suddenly out from around the corner Latoria found herself approached by a group of five Salarian’s who had a thuggish look about them. Deciding not to react Latoria continued on until she found her way forward blocked by them, even though she was slightly taller than them. Raising her eyebrow at them she waited.

“Hey there,” One, the leader looking Salarian crooned quickly at her “Don’t often see people in such nice get-up around here. How about you give us your credits and we leave your pretty dress intact.” He smiled menacingly and held out his hand to her. Latoria smiled her mandibles withdrawing to show her sharp teeth. Without so much as blinking she suddenly glowed blue with her biotic power, slamming the other four cronies aside so they hit the wall with enough force to knock them out, then within a heartbeat she had levitated the leader Salarian upside down and held him at eye level.

“Hmmm seems your little operation might need some fine tuning. Now let’s see what you have.” Grabbing the guns off him she stored them in her bag then she accessed her omi-tool and began to hack into his own, proceeding to take all his credits off him and putting them into her own account. “Well that was very diverting but you are making me late.” Flinging the Salarian aside to join the rest of his gang Latoria carried on walking to the warehouses.

Finally coming to the warehouse areas Latoria saw a surprising amount of activity around one of the warehouses. This surprised her, normally these sorts of areas were deserted of normal people. Walking over Latoria saw the Krogan guards allowing people inside. Walking lightly over Latoria approached one of the guards.

“Hello can you tell me what is going on here?” Latoria hit him with the full force of her charm as Krogan could tend to be somewhat reticent but she had not yet failed to get an answer from anyone.

The Major's omni-tool was acting up and it bothered him. " The hell is up with this thing?" He said trying to check it's functions. For the most part it worked, but the only thing that bothered him was the " Awaiting Signal " . What did it mean he thought? Never in all his years of the service has he encountered such and odd function. The signal seemed just fine. He than tried to contact his adopted father figure Jarvus. He sent a message via text.

Jarvus. This is Christopher Aurea Shuzen. I know I left the service and all. But do you think I can ask a favor? It involves a signal weird fucking Error saying " Awaiting Signal ". I'm on Omega at that. Respond ASAP.

Just like that he messaged back. Hey kiddo. Still looking like a youngster? To awnser your question, I do not have the slightest Maker's clue what it means, could be a code. However their is odd activity by some werehouses. Maybe you should start there. I'd reinstate you if I could, but you have your own life youngster. You'll always be called "The Major" Or " Major Shuzen" , but I see you as my son first and formost. Just know your Turian dad loves you, be safe.

Chris took the hint as is and smiled to see his adoptive dad still cared about him. But as he intended he went to investigate the werehouses. He was still " The Major" in his father's eyes and that was all that mattered to him. But his current goal was the werehouses. He felt prepaired being well fast and agile with a good biotic power and what not, he was also with his armor, he was capable enough to be protected. He was at the werehouse shortly after. What to anticipate? Maker knows what he was in for.

Another boring day, another boring duty.
Karath Maug, the sergeant of the unit of Krogan guarding this entrance to the warehouse was edgy.
He and his had not seen glory in over a cycle. Plenty of violence yes, but not much Glory.
Maug's father had fought in the Rachni wars and the Krogan rebellions, to hear him speak of them.
    Maug could only imagine.

Maug had been Bloodpack during the reaper invasion. Afterwards he broke away, ended up on Omega, ran out of cash,
signed with Aria. The usual. Nobody want's ex-Blood pack, and Aria wants people who have no where else to go.
Maybe because she thinks those kinds of people are more loyal. Who knows? Not Maug.
While all this was going on in his head a strange figure appeared before his men and spoke to one of them.

Maug cleared his head and looked up. Well, well. I thought I'd never... A female Turian.
"Bahahahahaha! Let 'er through you git. I'll deal with this one personally." Maug roared loudly as he got up on his feet, swinging his arms around to reactivate some sleeping muscles.
The Krogan, who had not replied to the woman yet as he looked a bit perplexed was shocked out of his trance by the loud roaring and immediately followed his orders, stepping aside and pointing the lady to Maug.
He got back in position with a grunt and couldn't help himself from looking over his shoulder a few times, at the charming figure now talking to the sarge. A confusing battle raging in his head between lust, disgust and charm. It was a Turian by the Void!

"Hehehe. A female Turian, by Aralakh I'm repeating myself. I thought they didn't let of your kind off of the home worlds."
He activated his omni tool, pressed a few buttons and a data file was sent to the Turian's tool.
"Here's everything you need to know about what is going down here, any questions are answered by a boot to the arse as we kick you off the compound. Heh! Now if you'd please surrender all guns and armaments on the table you'd be allowed in through that security gate. Otherwise I get to entertain you some more." Maug finished pointing at a small arc one needed to pass through to get into the inner sanctum of the warehouse.

Maug then riled through the pile of stuff on his desk, various guns, some grenades, a lot of food and surprisingly one book. When he found a Varren leg he sat himself down for some chow meanwhile keeping an eye on the Turian. Curious about what she'll do.

    MESSAGE RECEIVED from Karath Maug:

    Spoiler

Inside the warehouse Rourke was making his way into the central room, there were boxes and obstacles littered all around,
a few days ago he'd been here to supervise a small seemingly random reorganization of the containers and items in the warehouse. The only two apparent results were an even spread of items scattered around the room and one clearing in the centre.
There he saw a Turian, probably the one he was looking for too. Rourke walked up to the man with a little swing in his steps.
He took the cigar out of his mouth and smiled widely.
"A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Aria sends her... Well she sent me so I guess she cares, I suggest you act accordingly Mr. ?" Those last words were spoken more severely.

In Afterlife Aria herself was receiving some reports. The first incidents today.
She was tense, where spectres went trouble followed and trouble always lead fools to believe this was the most opportune time for their glorious takeover. While confident she could maintain her position this required a more hands on approach to threat termination. She had already moved more muscle to active duty, just to be sure.
If everything went smoothly the spectres'd be gone before the other gangs would realize. But yea things never go smoothly.

The first report Aria herself had been a witness of, normally she wouldn't think once about this.
A random Asari not working for or with her punching a random Turian who may or may not have been working for or with her was a matter of little consequence. But today everything could be the tug that pulled the pin out of the grenade.
"Spread the word amongst the street rats that there might be a reward for info on this young one. Make it look like the Blue Suns are pissed about her punching that grunt or something." This was just to be sure. She'd be kept up to date on this woman, some urchin would make a few cred and none of it would lead back to her.
The girl would probably fail to notice anything being out of the ordinary.

The second report was of a rare Turian female, a biotic even, on Omega who apparently knocked out the Slyzards,
no skin of Aria's back but keep in mind she just showed up as a powerful biotic on Omega herself ages ago and now she was in charge of the whole show.
"Hire some sneaky folk, professionals, tell them they're working for me. That should keep their mouths shut. I want to know every move that woman makes, every affiliation she has, every family member and loved one. Until she leaves this station she will be watched. And if she ever returns, the same treatment."

The Major was next in line. He obsereved the crowd and thought.Maker... This is quite the rally isn't it? No matter, just breath for you have no reason to fear anything. You been to war and back, no gathering of any sort should give a reason for you to be afraid. He smiled somewhat as he was metaphorically on the spot light. He just tried being casual.

The Krogan requested for any type of weapon, but the Major did not have any, this made him look back at his commanding officer with mixed looks. "Arn't you... like a teenager? " The Krogan asked. The Major was used to being known to look like he was between sixteen and eighteen, but this was slightly rediculas. " I'm twenty- one.... " The Major replied. The Krogan somewhat laughed in disbelief. " Just go in... " The Krogan replied faintly. Shrugging the Major did just that.

Latoria smiled coolly as she was directed to the Krogan soldier in change while the one she had spoken to went back to his position with a dazed look on his face that Latoria was used to inducing. Following him a little way she just smiled at his comment.

“Well I’m not ordinary Turian!” Latoria said holding up her omi-tool which received the message he sent her. Reading it through Latoria found her curiosity peeked, she was always interested in what was going on around her and this, although she only stumbled into it was defiantly something she wanted to have a look at. At the moment she was carrying no weapons, mainly because she wasn’t expecting any trouble and because her most offensive weapons were her biotic abilities, which she obviously couldn’t remove.

“Well as you can see I don’t have weapons to remove.” Latoria swished her robes around to show she was completely unarmed. Smiling Latoria moved with a graceful ease through the security arc without any issues or comments from the guards so she supposed everything was alright. Moving through into the inner sanctum of the warehouse Latoria looked around unsure of what to do next?
