I was busy doing more handstudies and my computer decided to shut itself off... Before I had saved... So now they are gone...
Not happy about that.
I did make a chibi yesterday xD But that is more like totally random.
Which is what I usually do. I stopped using dodge and burn a while ago... but... idk. O.o Yea, I'll probably go with the overlay layer. lol
lolz.. I'm half asleep right now anyways. XD Which is why i'm not doing much of ANYTHING atm. XD

Do you know what heroes are?
Say there is a chunk of meat.
Pirates will have a banquet and eat it,
but heroes will share it with other people.
I want all the meat!

I know that feeling, lol. (I feel kind of the same way today.. Didn't sleep well at all last night. >.<)
Oh, I hate when the computer/program derps and you lose whatever you were working on. Painter can be a fussy program from time to time so I've learned to save constantly. (It isn't as bad since Painter 12 came along, but Painter 11 was almost impossible to use. Crashed incessantly.. Lost so many pieces, which was why I mainly stuck to Photoshop.)
Cute chibi. (The eye could use a bit of refining, maybe -- looks a bit out of place with how smooth the rest of it is.)

SH: The picture was all kinds of messy. First thing I've drawn on the new comp. It let me work on such a large scale I was overwhelmed. i'll see that I get a new, cleaned up version asap.
In the meanwhile. have an WIP.
made by the ever charming and talented Lillian Thorne.
You always have some good character design coming through -- I always get a fair sense of personality from your character sketches/designs, which can be tricky to do. Nice job on that!
Shorten that face up some, though, it's looking a bit long right now:
(Drop the eyes down from the forehead area, they're a bit too high placement-wise, and shorten the nose a little bit.)

Figure I throw up some old work that is far cleaner.
And somethings where I played around with colors
made by the ever charming and talented Lillian Thorne.
Again, good sense of character to the sketches. Sense of proportion isn't too shabby, but dedicated anatomy studies definitely would help firm things up.
This doesn't count as color - there's barely any there. XD
And NEVER paint with black or white, unless doing a grayscale piece. It will mess up / sap the life out of any colors you put in proximity (or mix in) to it. Bad, bad habit.
A good base for local colors, but in a very, very rudimentary sort of way. (Like you're just sketching in a rough idea, but haven't added any real sense of light or rough form to give the idea of shape to anything.. Except for a bit on the head/neck of the character in the foreground. There's a bit of shaping going on there.) Again, avoid painting with black like the plague - it doesn't do colors any favors.
Do some still life work to help you get more comfortable painting in color. (It takes away the pressure of coming up with a subject matter and you can just focus purely on studying how the color and light are working. You'll learn a lot.)
