She's definitely going to be a mermaid! Haha, I usually DO forget about shoulder blades, though. :l I'll work on it and get back to you.

Oh, cool. ^_^
Here's a good muscle chart that you might find helpful -- Compare human anatomy to what would be functional mermaid anatomy. Try to see where the similarities/differences are and where the major shapes are for the muscle groups (because knowing where the muscles are what will help you render your figure when you go to take it to the next stage).
I'll be curious to see what you do with it!

I didn't even know there existed such thing as a functional mermaid anatomy. That is pretty cool.
Anyway I've been busy and didn't have my tablet for most of the week. I did work on some characters for a story of mine yesterday.
Do you know what heroes are?
Say there is a chunk of meat.
Pirates will have a banquet and eat it,
but heroes will share it with other people.
I want all the meat!

Right now you've got way too many tangents. (Too many touching edges.) When you have tangents, it can cause the eye to get stuck there because it looks unnatural. (You'll very rarely see it in real life -- things almost always overlap. Even though this piece is cartoony, the same compositional rules apply.)
I circled a few of the problem areas and did a quick fix. Notice how things start feeling more like they're sharing the same space and you can tell which things are in front of one another, rather than having the tangents and everything feeling things feel like it's extremely 2D and stuck together? Always try to vary your edges. Nothing should ever perfectly line up, no edges of objects should touch exactly (stop/start in the same place), and lines shouldn't disappear in corners/indentations of other objects.
Check your piece over for tangents (as I left a few uncircled for you to see if you can spot them) and try to fix them -- it'll make your base much stronger.

I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate you helping us all out. It's ridiculously kind.

Not a problem.. People helped me out like this when I was starting, so it's only fair to do the same in turn.
(Though, other people should also feel free to throw in their two cents on everything being submitted. I don't want to always be the only one with an opinion. XD)
