    The Silver Light(TheJill and Heart)

(Shes the on with the blonde hair and the reddish background)
Mist spent her days doing the same things over and over again. Flying around and exploring the Great Forest. At least, that was what her clan of fairies called their forest. It was huge, and she only knew not even a quarter of the land. Everything else was a mystery to her. A mystery that she indeed intended to solve and learn more about. Her father always told her to stay near the tree, that it was dangerous to waunder too far from their home. But, she didn't see how there could be any danger. She never saw any other creatures besides the other fairies and small animals in these forests. No, this was a peaceful place for a sure. A place where no one could get hurt.
    -
Sometimes she found interesting 'unknown' things. Things she had never seen before that had to be made by some strange creatures. Some of the things she reconized as jewels that came from caves. But a lot of times, these jewels would have some sort of strange shiny substance wrapped around it that looked beautiful, but strange all the same.Of course, she didn't know this was human jewelry, since all fairies did was weave flowers to make their 'jewery'. And other time she found things such as cirular things made of the same shiny material as the stuff wrapped around the jewels, or little wodden trinkets that were carved to look like animals. All of these things interested her, and she yearned to learn more about them.
    -
She flitted about, darting between twigs and leaves that were up in the trees, giggling to herself, her long blond hair flowing behind her at the speed. Smiling to herself, she stopped and stood on an old stump to catch her breath, enjoying her day much so far. That was when she saw something sparkling and perked up with interest, her blue eyes shinning with delight. Flying over she knelt down, brushing the huge leaves aside, and pulled out a silver chain, trying to figure out what it was.

Aiden panted lightly as he pulled himself through the thick underbrush of the forest. A caribou trail luckily broke up the hard walk and he was at last able to stand straight and walk normally. The forest was a hard place to work but at least it was nice to look at. His father may have been rich, and may not do much hard work himself but he certainly ensure his sons got their taste of hardship in the wilderness. many times Aiden had heard the man say that no boy who couldn't last weeks with a knife and some twine was no son of his. His father, the Lord Kerrigan DeGaltres was a self proclaimed lord after usurping the throne for himself after a bloody showdown with the last ruler. He believed skills in hunting and warfare were key to ruling and as the youngest, smallest brother of the noble faily DeGaltres, Aiden felt enormous pressure to do the man proud. He didn't want to think of what might happen if he didn't.

Just a week away from his eighteenth birthday and Aiden was doing as all his brothers had done before him, hunting alone for a wild boar, providing the meat for his own celebration. r There hadn't been a coming of age yet without a huge boar or buck to feed the entire keep, Aiden wasn't about to make the exception. Boars however were rare in these woods. He had been tracking for days with his bow, had come across countless caribou but no boar.

Finally, he luck seemed to change. A large boar, the largest he'd ever seen seemed to be entrancing in watching something in the woods. Aiden had his bow drawn, aiming when his eyes shifted to see what the boar was so occupied with.

A girl. A beautiful girl, pawing at the forest floor. His jaw dropped as he realized how far they were from any town he knew of at least...His delay had cost him the boar and he swore loudly as it noticed his scent and darted off. Annoyed, he beckoned finally at the girl "These are the kings woods, woman. You're not supposed to be here" he started toward her, trying not to look as irritated as he felt. As he got closer, her looks took an effect they'd have on any 18 yearold.

"Where do you hail from?" His voice was suddenly soft, forgiving "Stand little bird" All he'd gotten a good look at was he face, he was eager to see more.

Mist, wanting to be able to hold the chain better, had changed from her fairy form, to her larger form, and picked up the chain, looking at it with interest in her eyes, wondering what in the world it could be used for. Of course, animals always stopped to look at her, she was used to it. Animals were fairies' friends. The animals always helped her and she always helped the animals. It was a mutual thing. So, it was normal for the boar to be there so close to the fairy girl. She didn't think much of it. That it, until the boar ran off and she looked up with suprise that quickly turned to fear, wondering what could have frightened such a large and powerful animal, when the thing that scared it stepped out. It was, a boy. Of course, she herself had never seen a human before, so to her, this was another fairy. A fiary with a bow and arrow. probabily hunting for his clan.
    -
Well, he was definantl not from her clan, as her clan never ate meat. So, that made her find it odd. this whole forest belonged to her clan. The nearest fiary clan lived up int he mountains. So, what was this fairy doing here?
    -
At first he seemed very annoyed with her, and she didn't know why. After al, it wasn't her fault the animal had run off. She was the reason it had been there in the first place. He stated that these were the kings woods and.....that she wasn't supposed to be here? Okay, obviously this boy was very confused. Yes, these were the kings woods, but her father was the king! The king of the fairies and these were his woods. SO of course, with her being his daughter, these were her woods as well. His expression changed and turned a bit softer as he asked where she hailed from. Then he tol dher stand, calling her 'little bird'. Well, she couldn't blame him for caling her that. She was always told she was graceful and delicate as a bird anyway.
    -
Standing slowly, she brushed the leaves off of her white dress and looked at him, "I hail from the Telemmaitė clan." Since the Telemmaitė clan was knowing for ruling this forest by all the fairies, she didn't feel the need to say that she lived there in the Great Forest. She took a careful step forward, as she had to be cautious, since her clan was still at war with most, if not all, other fairy clans, "And.....what clan do you hail from?"

His expression became stern, he didn't like to be lied to.He was the youngest of his brothers but just like he others he inherited his fathers northern features. A chin like an anvil, hair like slate and eyes to match. Broad, stong shoulders held his black fur cloak, and showed off his families emblem, a grand stag impressively. I am your Lord Aiden Pyke of Blackmour, son of the warden of the north Stewart Pyke, and I'd think you should know better then to lie to me- Telem--m..That name is from story books! From where do you hail" As he spoke he stepped closer to her, inspecting for weapons as he prodded her for answers.

"The only reason for a woman to be this far out into the woods is if she were hiding- If you confess your crimes here I may spare you." She was very beautiful, but beautiful woman can be traitors too. Running from a sentence laid by a nobleman is treason, even if that sentence is imprisonment or a fine, when they catch you, you die. And according to the silver chain in her hand, she must be thief. His stomach churned at the thought.

He had been taught since birth to uphold the laws of the king but looking at her now, he hoped she had just run away from her parents, or a cruel husband simply because if he had to kill her, he didn't think he'd be able to. So instead he helped her out "Or maybe you're just running from someone else? Let me take you back to Blackmour-winter is coming and if you're still in the woods..."

For some reason, anger sparked in her when he accused her of lying to him. How dare he?! She was the princess of the Great Forest! For someone such as him to say she was lying....that was just disgraceful! Her electric blue eyes hardened as she looked at the boy, only to blink in suprise when he stated she was from some place called Blackmore. Where did she know that name.....looking back at him, she looked at him, then remembered something that her father had told her. There were strange creatures that lived to the North. Creatures that looked fairy, but were not nearly as powerful as them. He must have been one of those creatures. Well, that explained why he didn't know who she was. But it still did not change the fact that he was accusing her of lying and commiting a crime. Or running away.
    -
In an instant her expression hardened again, and she stood up straight, "I am not lying. That is where I hail from. You can believe me or not. But I will not be pushed as around by someone of your sorts. To be accused of something such as 'crimes' and 'running away' is below me." She stated, keeping her head held high, just as her father told her to do when she was proving her point.
    -
"And I by no means," She continued, "Have no time of patience to deal with the sorts of you. Go back to your hunting or whatever it is your kind calls it and leave me be." She stated with a wave of her hand, then turned to walk off from the boy.

It was pretty clear to him then that was was just mad- probably lost in the woods so long, delirious with hunger and fatigue-- Though she didn't look any worse for wear. There was one skill he had that made it impossible for him to let her get away. He's met princesses before, and only a princess has a tongue like that. "Please my lady" He held out his hands in defeat.

"Forgive me for my insolence. I hereby /invite/ you to my keep, as a gesture of good will for my awful behaviour before." He smiled sheepishly. His father taught all his children that as a Pyke, all men are your charge. This clearly damaged, delirious, mad woman was in need of help. To leave her to starve or freeze would be wrong. So he just played to her little game.

"I have heard of your homeland- I just didn't think fairies were real-" gods if his brothers could hear him now. Talking of fairies with a straight face.

She looked at him suspiciously when he suddenly changed his attitude so quickly. Suddenly he was apologizing and inviting her to his castle. Even going as far as to say he hadn't thought fairies exsisted, "Of course we exist. How else do the forest and all in it grew. We're the ones who do that." She straightened up and thought his invite over for a moment. IF she did go, with winter coming in just a few weeks, all the fairies would be locked inside the biggest tree for the winter. If she wasn't there when it happened, then she wouldn't be able to get in until spring. But, if she was just going to his castle for a few days, she would be able to make it back in time. She would just have to make sure to send a message to her father, by animal of course, letting him know where she was. Besides, she kind of did want to come. After all, from the looks of it, these creatures seemed to be the one to ae all the unknown items she was always finding in the woods.
    -
She looked over at him, and spoke with a nod of her head, "Very well, but only for a few days. I have to get back hr before the beginning of winter."
