Pokemon - Species Screwery (Revival - IC)

Ughhh...my head... As Alpha finally awoke from her slumber, the first thing that registered in her mind was that she was hungry. Maybe a meal for five...no, seven, should do it. The eyes of the gluttonous Mawile opened, to find that the building of Oak's machine was in ruins. Most things were turned over or destroyed entirely, there was a big hole in the wall, but most of all, there was a dead body on the floor, near the machine itself. Alpha remembered the machine pretty well. Designed to give Pokemon human speech, built by the professor who caught her...never taste-tested. Stepping up to the machine itself, Alpha stuck her tongue out and pressed it against the metal, soon afterwards putting her tongue back in her mouth. "Tastes like shit," she told herself.

    Wait...did I just...TALK? Like humans?

Then it worked! Smiling proudly at Professor Oak's success, Alpha looked down at the dead body. She could tell they were dead because of how still they were. "Best to see who it is," she told herself, still getting used to (and having plenty of fun with) the ability to speak. However, when she turned it over, she almost jumped. Professor Oak, looking her dead in the eyes, with two dead eyes of his own. There was a big hole in his chest, so something must have torn him apart. "..."

    GRURLLLLLLLLLLLLL...

Well, I'm still hungry. I guess, since he's dead...he won't need his insides anymore. Human flesh wasn't Alpha's favorite flavor, but if she was hungry, it would work if nothing else tasty-looking was around. Since that was the case, Alpha reached in toward the hole in Oak's chest, only to jump once again. Her hand was certainly that of a human. Did something go wrong?

    GRLLLLLLLLL...

"I'll worry about that later," she hungrily said, grabbing the first thing she could find inside of Oak's dead body. It was far from her favorite kind of food, but desperate times called for desperate measures. Chow time.

Akyas woke with a start, stiffening as soon as he registered his surroundings. Something was... Off. As soon as he looked around, he knew exactly what. The place was completely in ruins. There was a huge hole torn in the wall directly parallel to himself. And perhaps worst - and strangest - of all, Professor Oak was lying dead on the floor, his internal organs being eaten by a girl in the center of the room.

"Well." It was meant to be just an exclamation of surprise, but something clicked inside of Akyas's mind at the speech. The project... It had worked? Apparently so, despite the fact that the entire place was in shambles, and Oak was being eaten in the middle of the room. But even other than that, something felt... Off. In general. Akyas's mind defaulted to his own native speech to think it over, but his tongue couldn't seem to formulate any sort of words other than human-speak.

He stiffened again at this and cautiously, hoping it was a dream, looked down. Then he muttered a very foreign word.

He was human. Great. Which meant that the person eating Oak's liver must be the Mawile he'd seen briefly a few times in the experimentation.

"Hello?" Akyas said the word slowly; he understand the language perfectly, it being what all the humans spoke, and his new body was perfectly suited to speak the words, but he wasn't accustomed to actually saying it. "What... What are you doing?"

Spurt yawned, sitting up slowly. Everything was blurry, where was he? He couldn't think strait just after waking up. He slowly stood, but soon met a realization as he looked down at the ground. It was pretty far away, but that wasn't what told him something was wrong. "Where are mah' feet?!" He asked, and his eyes widened, putting a hand over his mouth. He didn't exactly understand what was happening. He was still half-asleep! He slowly lowered his hand to look at it. It was a human hand. Wait... He never had any hands! His pupils shrunk, moving the hand left and right to confirm it was his own. He looked down and lifted a foot up, then as he put his foot down he stared up at the ceiling. What th' hell happened? An' why am I talkin' like them human folk?"

After a moment of thought, he started to remember. The lab, Professor Oak's experiment. That's right... Make them talk like the humans do. But that didn't tell him why he had hands. And normal feet. And no wings! He couldn't use them, but what kind of flying type didn't have wings? Y' really screwed up, doc." He muttered, his vision starting to improve. Up ahead he noticed something. A human. And another human, and a third human. Why did one of them have a hole in it's stomach... And... What was the woman doing to the one on the gr-

I-Is he dead?! Spurt asked himself in his mind, unsure of what to think. That human... She must be some sort of monster. And the other one that was speaking... Eh, best to leave. He slowly began walking away, towards the nearest way out, until he tripped and fell on his face. "Dammit!" He spat, looking back at what he fell on, only to notice some sort of furry dog, except human shaped. It's red eyes shot open and it stood, glaring at Spurt.

    "Did you just kick me?"

Spurt gulped, crawling away from the wild looking... Monster. It certainly wasn't a pokemon, and it didn't look like a human, either. "H-Hey! No problems, now! It was an accident!" Spurt pleaded, his back slamming against a wall. The seeming to be monster approached, opening his mouth to reveal his sharp fangs.

"I don't like being kicked, y'know... I kind of feel..." He licked his lips. "Assaulted." He paused in place, noting the hole in the wall. He frowned, and Spurt was about to move before he was growled at. "You got lucky this time... We meet again and you'll be eaten alive, human." The monster ran out on all fours, and Spurt wiped his forehead, sighing. "Whew... Too close fer' me." He said, forgetting about the monster human and just sitting there, glad he survived his encounter with the... Non-Human Monster? Who knows what it was.

The light hurt. Her eyes instinctively squinted, trying to dim the light. Her hand raised to shield her eyes - wait, that didn't seem right. But why... Her body ached as she squirmed. Two arms, two legs... wasn't she missing something? She wasn't sure. It was just a feeling. Gingerly, she sat up, pulling her knees towards her chest. She could hear voices but for the time being ignored them - it was unnerving, but she didn't get any impression of hostility. The light wasn't hurting as much, and her gaze focused. She was wearing....clothes - the exact names eluded her at the moment. They were pastel colors, mostly. Not too harsh on the eyes. Except for the chest.... she wrapped her arms around the red cloth and looked around her surroundings at last. There were others like her....and that one...that one...

She tried to scream, but only a strangled yelp escaped her as she backed away, hitting a wall. What was going on here why was she eating him she was eating him this was wrong this was so wrong-

Her stomach tightened, and her throat felt constricted and dry. What if that....person came after her next? How could she protect herself? Could she even protect herself? To her horror, there was no answer. She couldn't remember. Suddenly, the feeding before her didn't seem quite so important as she tried to think of what she knew about her situation. She didn't even know where she was or why she was here. Did she even have a name? Did she know any of these people? She had no idea. Oh god. She pulled her legs closer, hunching over. If she didn't know if she could fight back or not, it seemed wise to stay against the wall for now, hoping no one who'd seek harm would notice her. She tried to slow her breathing, look anywhere else but the people before her. The building was ruined, machines shredded in the aftermath of...something. From what she could see of the outside, the whole area wasn't much better.

Something big had happened here, something bad. She just wished she remembered what it was...

    "What... What are you doing?"

"Huh?" Looking over to the source of the voice, Alpha observed. Another one of the test subjects, juding by the look of him. "I'm eating, obviously. He was already dead when I found him, so I figured he wouldn't need his insides anymore." Even so, flesh wasn't her favorite taste in the world. Grabbing a particular piece of flesh that won't be detailed in fear of mods going wtf Alpha added "Any ideas to what happened around here?"

Uuuuu...good morning, Umi. She was awake now? That meant that Oak's experiment was ready for results, right? Taking in a deep breath, Umi tried to think of the right thing to say. Did she want to say something profound? If this worked, it would be the biggest breakthrough in the history of things being broken through. Just saying anything didn't feel right. At the same time, she couldn't think of anything to say. For the time being, she'd remain quiet, in that case. Or she would have, if the sounds she'd awoken to weren't those of a conversation about what seemed to be eating something. She'd look around at the other...people!?

Weren't they Pokemon before? Looking down to herself to make sure everything was okay, Umi found that she was a person-like entity as well! She could still feel her tails were intact, so at least there was that. Looking around, she started identifying each person by distinct qualities. The one eating a dead body was a Mawile, and the one talking to her looked like a Gallade. Continuing to look around to others she could identify, her eyes eventually stopped on a Butterfree-seeming person in the back. She looked scared out of her mind. Everybody probably was, and Umi wasn't an exception. The difference was that most people weren't as obviously scared, and Umi kept her constant confident grin on her face. Making her way over to the Butterfree-person, Umi took a seat next to her, watching the scene before her in case the shit hit the fan and she had to run.

    "Are you alright?"

Akyas took a quick inventory of his new body. Nothing was hugely different in proportion of the arms, legs, et cetera, but then he'd always been quite humanoid in form. He silently mourned the loss of his former arms, which were much more useful than his current ones. Built-in swords beat opposable thumbs any day. Other than that, the only major change was that he was now wearing clothing. Huh. Strangely enough, the clothes he'd woken up in were quite similar to his normal body's coloration; in a less strange time, he might have wondered why. But for now, he continued to stare at the Mawile-girl eating Oak's insides.

"Still, you shouldn't just... Eat him like that." He was quite hungry as well, or had been before seeing Oak's insides on the outside, and was repulsed by the stench. "As for what happened, my guess is as good as yours." He gestured around to the destroyed machinery. "Obviously something went pretty wrong."

Spurt watched the people around him, they seemed to be in the same situation. They used to be pokemon as well? He'd never seen a pokemon eat a human before... Wait a minute...

Shiet, that crazy girl is still eatin' him. He stared at the apparently newly made exit, a hole in the wall. Staying here wasn't going to do him any good, what if one of them tried to eat him? He slowly stood up, still not used to his new body. It was odd, not having any feathers. He felt kind of naked, although he was wearing human clothing. But this was something, for sure. Life lead him into something crazy this time, surely it wouldn't hurt to see how this turned out. Heck, being a human could be fun! But that left him with one question; where was this place? As he walked outside and looked at his surroundings, it was a firm belief in his mind that he wasn't in Unova anymore. That was confusing, how was he supposed to get home to his family? This body didn't exactly look like it could float like his old one, it was kind of mysterious.

"Jus' great, Ah don't even know where Ah am..." He grumbled, crossing his arms. They would certainly be good for something, he seemed to be lacking his beak, so his hands would have to probably pick up most objects. He slowly stumbled off, his pace was that of a Slowbro, he took in the sights he had never seen before, and enjoyed the breeze, not certain exactly where he was going.

Lamar stopped, having ran from the lab and happily accepting freedom once again. It wasn't until now he actually started noticing what had happened, he was taller, and wasn't completely covered in fur. He slowed down, looking at the forested area surrounding him. He stood up onto his hind legs- "Wait a second..." He stared at what he had assumed were his front legs, but they were actually hands. Filthy from being used to scamper along the ground faster. He clenched both of them into fists and glared forward, irritated and confused. What had he turned into? His shape was almost human, but he looked wild and ravaged. A sort of beast. He almost considered going back to get answers from the weak-looking human, but he didn't want to risk having to end it's already pathetic existence. He simply walked along, unsure of where he was going, or why. He slowly, but surely, started going faster... And faster... And just continued to gain speed until he was forced to run on all-fours again, racing past the empty trees, and past a couple of wild pokemon he had never seen before. Where was this place? Hopefully there would be strong pokemon here to fight... If not, then this whole experiment business would be for nothing, a completely worthless sacrifice that had gotten him turned into... Whatever he was, now. Some sort of odd, odd mixture...

(Idiot mistake of forgetting my other character, I should get stabbed in the eyes...)

Suds' opened his eyes, starring at the ceiling. He felt kind of funny, and it was more or less an enjoyable feeling. He hopped up onto his feet and yawned loud enough for the entire room to hear. "Woo! What a nap that was!" He said, blinking and realizing he just spoke like a human, which caused him to grin wildly. "Hey! It worked! I sound like a human now, isn't that just-" He paused, looking around and noting the destruction, his eyes rolling to the side and noticing a human eat another human. His eye twitched. "That's... Kind of gross." He muttered, starting to pace around. Eating people was something, he figured some people just had to eat. He stopped as he realized his footsteps sounded different than solid rock hitting the floor. He looked down and noted his shoes, and overall more fleshy appearance.

This... Was actually quite amazing for the Sudowoodo. He didn't notice until now that he had actual hands instead of weird rock-hard tree-branches. This would be fantastic! Think of how much easier dancing could be if he didn't weigh so much! "This is... So awesome!" He cheered, flipping backwards and standing on his hands. He began walking around like this, laughing and enjoying himself.

Rubble began to shake as something under it started to move. A white tuft of white fur...or maybe hair popped out before the whole person jumped out and shook herself down. Wendy rubbed her eyes before studying her fur. Or was it hair...? Then her eyes widened. Hands? Feet? Her hands went up to her face and she felt facial features. "W-What the heck is this? What did they do!? I'm humanish now!" Wendy exclaimed, picking up her foot and wiggling it before a wide grin was set on her face. "This is so......cool!" She squealed, jumping up and down in joy like a giddy little kid. Then she noticed the wreck she was in. "Whoa. What happened here?" Wendy murmured softly, studying the wreckage.

Evanora's eyes opened abruptly before she sat up, a cool and even stare studying her surroundings. "Hmmm. Something went wrong here. Whoever did it sure has my respect." She grinned, laughing darkly. There was a certain gleam in her eyes that just warned people that something wasn't right with her. Her eyes looked down to her legs, to see the characteristics of a human. "Ugh. I've been turned into one of those things? Disgusting." She growled, her feelings totally conveyed in those simple words. "Looks like the culprit was already taken care of though." Evanora sneered, her eyes resting on the corpse of Oak.

She looked up at the redhead who had come to her side. Her appearance seemed...odd. She couldn't put her finger on it, though maybe it was the stripes on her face. She bit her lip, not sure what to say. She didn't even know if she was or not, so how could she even answer? Still... she didn't seem like she meant her any harm, not like the black-haired one or the one with the...purple hair Huh. Maybe she even had the answers she needed. She inhaled deeply, trying to collect her thoughts. Ok...one of the first things she'd noticed upon regaining (or just gaining?) consciousness...

"I...I-I think something's missing fr-from me...I don't- I don't know what." She couldn't help but stumble over the words that seemed so unfamiliar, and yet like second nature at the same time. Her fingers curled tighter, nails digging into her skin. "W-where am I? What ha-happened?" If she could just keep the words straight, not needing to stop mid-syllable, maybe she wouldn't feel so nervous... She turned her gaze to the floor to avoid the horrors around her. Her next words were a faint whisper: "Who am I?"

    --

He saw the human(oid?) from a branch well above the path. Simply running, running where it was hard to say. Nowhere, he supposed, nowhere that was here. Under his mask, he grinned and followed, leaping across tree branches, humming to himself before speaking aloud.

"Into the woods, it's time to go. It may be all in vain, you know. Into the woods, but even so-"

A bright flash filled the area for but a split second, enough time for a child in grey to appear in Lamar's path, face concealed under a skull mask. It was just as well, to hide the face-splitting grin. "You have to take the journey." He chuckled. He seemed totally unarmed, probably a child, simply playing a game with this strange being he'd found without thought to the possible consequences of such an unexpected arrival.

Leonardo woke up slowly. His eyes still closed, he got up off of his part of the device and looked at his surroundings. Expecting to be greeted by his trainer, he was startled by the rather bleak atmosphere. He saw the lab in shambles, and the nice guy who offered this opportunity was lying belly up on the ground being eaten...by something. He couldn't tell whether it was a human or a Pokemon, but given the predicament he was in, he figured it was probably best to get out of here before getting seen by the beast. He flew up a rather convenient hole in the ceiling, no doubt left by whatever beast wrecked the lab. "Why is my head so groggy, I feel like I've been put through a blender or something...must be some side effect of the experiment." he said to himself. "Oh, I'm speaking like the humans now, guess it must've worked like a charm...before the lab got destroyed of course." He flew around aimlessly for a few minutes, trying to figure out what to do.

It was then that he remembered some advice from Oliver, who had told him to go towards Viridian City if something "weird" happened. Waking up in a lab that was mysteriously destroyed probably qualifies as weird Leo thought.

The trip there wasn't particularly exciting, but when he got to the city, he realized that something had gone massively wrong. The city was in shambles, by all looks, it had been destroyed by something, much like the lab. "What happened here?" he said, terrified. He landed to see if he could find Oliver...or at least something that would tell him what was going on. After searching some through the city streets, he finally found a couple of humans, hiding from something. He motioned as if to go towards them, but they fled as if being hunted. He reached his hand out to them, but to no avail.

"Huh, you'd think they'd have seen a Flygon befo---AGEGASH! He let loose a scream, something rather rare for him, as he saw that his hand looked...like a human! He took a better look at himself, only to find he had been transformed into some sort of hybrid. "How...how did this happen? I thought Oak's experiment was supposed to let us speak not transform us!

Before he could get back to his senses, he was hit by a stream of water...

The sound of rustling leaves could be heard as Celeste woke up. She eyed her surroundings, somewhat shocked to realize that she wasn't in the forest anymore. After a few moments, she remembered that she had been caught by some trainer and transformed into a Lilligant, but that certainly didn't explain why she woke up in this place. She saw a multitude of humans...wait, that wasn't right. They looked like...some kind of cross between a trainer and a Pokemon. Only when she looked at herself did she realize the gravity of the situation, she had also been turned into some kind of creature.

"This...must be some kind of nightmare..." she said, shivering.

It was then that she saw the Mawile-like hybrid chowing down on the professor. This only served to terrify her even more, and she backed into a corner and started mumbling "Please don't eat me, Please don't eat me" incessantly.

    ____________________________________
Scar awoke still a little groggy from the experiment. He slowly opened his eyes and saw legs...then he saw that they were attached to him! Shocked, he awoke with a start, then said"Woah woah woah, what just happened here? Why am I suddenly a human?" He then started thinking, then thinking some more, then thought "Oh I get it! Somehow this form must be more powerful than the last."

He struggled to get to his feet, landing on his face a few times before finally getting the right balance to stand. He then tried moving around, and found it surprisingly easy, given the circumstances, though that didn't stop him from falling on his face a few more times. After finally getting the hang of it, he heard a "Garrr." sound coming from his stomach.

"Haha, well I guess three days in some whackjob device must build up a real appetite." he thought with glee. He looked around the room, and found that the situation was rather bleak. A ruined lab, a Mawile eating up the remains of the professor, several hybrids freaked out of their wits...and perhaps most importantly to Scar "Ooh a Buizel." he thought "A weird hybrid human Buizel, but a Buizel's a Buizel, and I could go for a snack right about now."

He started to sneak up behind her, inching closer and closer. He got into position to pounce. Unfortunately for him, fate had other plans, as a slightly ajar ceiling beam snapped off the ceiling, crashed into him, and sent him into the wall!
