Not necessarily true, a lot of Spammers are actually quite creative and do things in other areas of the site. However, spam is the black hole of procrastination. I used to do a lot of Advanced RPs but there's a couple things that you need to take into consideration.
>It's always a good idea to have a co-gm with Advanced threads. My experience is that when a GM gets a bit backed up, whether it's with real life, school, etc. any delay in posting usually marks death of a thread. Having a co-gm (unless you truly have no life and can count on getting important story posts up on your own), helps with those moments who can take over if writer's block hits you.
>Be Proactive. The successful threads are ones with GMs who aren't afraid to get out and advertise and keeps their thread alive. Problem with advanced threads, not everyone can just shit out posts like they're going out of style. I know for me, it can take me upwards of 30 minutes to an hour to work on a good post. Waiting on a group of people in a rotation usually kills off a thread too when one person drops and holds up progress. A proactive gm is always recruiting and sucking people into their thread to alleviate the loss of a drop. For some reason people get a sheeple/herd mentality on this site and once one person drops, the horde usually follows. It's quite tragic.
Good luck, I happen to adore fantasy so if you get it up and running- and if it doesn't suck I'm in.
Keep your RPG's away from me, fiend.
There will never be an RPG as good as Paper Mario. Believe me, I've looked.
You think I fucking love Deathspank? Hell no.
