    Messiah

*DISCLAIMER* Though I, myself, associate with Christian beliefs, you do not by any means need to be a Christian or religious of any kind to join this game. The hope for the future of this role play is more historical than religious. That being said, any sacreligious comments, spoken either in character or in good taste, will not be condemned. Adversely, any religious comments should also be made in good taste. As in any other role play, I expect all players to respect the beliefs of others. If you feel unable to do this civilly, please refrain from expressing your interest. That being said, let's begin.

    • c. 5 BCE: The first part of a two part census is announced, and all of King Herod's subjects are required to participate.
    • c. 4 BCE: Citizens begin migrating for the census.
    • c. September, 4 BCE: Jesus Christ is born in Bethlehem.
    • c. 3 BCE: Six to ten months after the birth, maji visit the infant.
    • c. 3 BCE: The Holy Family escapes to Egypt.
    • c. 2 BCE: All infant boys in Bethlehem are killed, in accordance to Herod's decree.

You are a Judean, either living in or visiting Bethlehem during the first census during a very important time in history. Of course, you are unaware that you are going to be changing one of the most impactful stories in our world's history. All you know is what you see. You see the crowds of people invading this small village. You seen a large star in the sky, shining like the sun. You see babies being killed in the streets. What are you thinking; how are you feeling? Is this the end of the world, or the beginning of a new one? What does it all mean, especially to you? You could be anyone from a shepherd to a innkeeper to a maji, but the impact is the same. No matter how this infant touches your life, you will be forever changed, for better or worse.

There are multiple roles available to players. In order to keep historical accuracy, I'm going to limit players and roles. So, the roles are as folows:
    3 maji
    5 shepherds
    3 innkeepers
5 civillians visiting Bethlehem for the census
    2 soldiers

If there are any roles that you don't see but would like to play, just let me know. Also, I doubt that we'll get 18 people for the game, so if you want to play multiple roles, please feel free. Also, we will begin once I see sufficient interest. I neither need nor want that many players. I just wanted caps for individual roles.

And that's about all. Questions? Concerns? Any interest at all?

Great. I'll be sure to reserve both positions for the two of you when the OOC goes up. I'll give it one more day.

    And Merry Christmas everyone!

Also, Act Riaser, I am not familiar with the history of the Kingdom of Chi'in...more information, please?

I am very interested, Constantinou, in the story idea.

Being that we just experienced Christmas, I believe it would be good to continue the Spirit of Christmas through a story. As a novel writer myself, it might be interesting (for me) if I was able to write for several characters. The authorship I would be most useful in would be as follows:
    - Civilian (of Bethlehem)
    - Magi (from Northern Africa and deeper character development if role granted)
    - and Shepherd (Nomad, near Bethlehem).

I eagerly await your response! Merry Christmas!

MasterCrew, sounds delightful. I cannot post an OOC tonight, regretfully, and tomorrow is my 21st birthday (so, as you can guess, I will probably be unable to post). So, it will come on Friday morning. Thank you all for your patience. I look forward to playing with each of you.

If anyone finds interest in this in that time, there are no more spots left for Maji. I plan on playing one since they will be experiencing sort of a side story. After all, they do not arrive in Bethlehem until long after the birth. I may even create a separate IC for these characters. More information later.

I'd also love a Joseph character for poor young Mary to interact with. Or, in the least, a character for the innkeeper who gives her the manger. I know that in the beginning she will be very preoccupied with the newborn child, so I don't want all of my starting posts for her to be fillers. Anyone up for the task? Or do you know someone who may be interested?

A quick suggestion: Being that the role of Joseph and Mary are so vital to the story, I would suggest that the are both authored by the same writer. Although, whoever was to take this task, would have a boat load of work for themselves, it would be easier for the story to flow fluently without literary "hiccups". I would be up for the challenge, but it's obviously up to you.

I hope you have a wonderful 21st birthday!
