Well, there is the plot for you. Humans (I will be glad to have PM battles about other races being integrated) have lived under their rule since they can remember or rather, since their first chapter in those huge history books that they write and read. It might very well be that the dragons created them, it might very well be that the world itself was created by dragons. That shake your resolve? Please leave. They have been kind rulers, have helped the humans in their times of need, have negotiated treaties between warring lords to save lives and yet they are respectful about the independence of the lower race, only interfering when called. Any association with justice holding you back? Please leave. But should they be assailed by humans... Their outlook might change... They might wipe our pitiful people from the face of the earth. Conscience talking to you? Please leave. If we win and I do hope we will, the ones that attain the godly powers are going to be... Rather more selfcentered than the kind dragons. Any feeling of pity for those that will suffer from our godhood? Please leave.
Well, I do wonder how many people have reached this line... Congratulations to you! You are either completely rotten to the core or you have pushed on till here with gritted teeth for some obscure reason. Or you completely ignored all the times I asked you to leave because you are utterly obnoxious... Obnoxious ones, feel free to exclude yourself from my congrats. Now down to business.
Medieval fantasy setting, this may turn out to be just fictional creatures (if you believe they are/were real, I intend no offence) or magic as well.
Dragons and humans are the only sentient species. As noted above, adding other sentient species is up for debate.
Your characters will need a damn good reason to take on the dragons. There are no black sheep among the dragons. They are entirely peaceful and benevolent. Plus the fact that you are an ant next to them. Your character will have to be rather twisted.
I said above that humans are equal to an ant next to a dragon. This RP, even going on for ten years RL (let me just dream here alright...) might never see a single slain dragon. Our characters might just end up chasing an impossible goal for their pitiful lives. Be ready to accept that. No, I will not change the title over such a thing.
I will not place any limit on your gore except that you please do not start getting really detailed. Slamming a clawed hand into your foe and ripping out a bunch of organs? Brilliant. Slamming a clawed hand into your foe and tearing out his pancreas? You might understand that, I might understand that, but others might not. Keep the vocab out.
Sexual content however will have a greater limit. Any slamming of clawed hands in this context should be kept to PM. Should your character overly sexual advances on another without the other player's permission, they will in turn recieve permission to hurt your character. Still working on a detergent for masochists...
Human culture is quite the mess. So many different facetes. For now I would make the culture european, with greater influence from the middle east and southeast than in the real world. This is mainly to enable people to have scimitars or ringblades or whatever. These weapons will still be considered exotic among the nation we will start off in.
I said we will start off in a nation. So my plan was. Dragon heaven, european island, middle eastern island, south eastern island. Up for debate.
This turned out to be much more than I originally intended... Also I wanted to become more straightforward with that listing of features or whatever. But I got carried away after just a short while it would seem... Well, anyway, as I stated multiple times, I am open for suggestions. Ask away, suggest away. Oh and feel free to let me know if you interested since that is the designated purpose of this thread. (just so you know) Oh and I am pretty easygoing with word count. Having a quota to fulfill makes it sound like work.
