    [SilverRain]Way of the Phoenix[Fearless]

    Way of The Phoenix

Anton and his forces stood ready outside the walls of the town they would be taking. For this small mission, there was no plan. They would simply 'smash' their way in. Kill all who opposed them, and take control.

Anton looked back at his men and smirked. It would be easy... He was confident. That is why he stood tall, without any trce of doubt in his body.

Anton was the leader of the Legion, though he was incredibly young. Nineteen, as a matter of fact. He stood at 5 foot 11. His hair was dark red. His eyes were black, though when he used his powers they changed to match the color of his hair, and took on a demonic appearance. His body was fit. He had muscle, though not too much. Athletic.

He wore the customary light armor the Legion wore. Black with red trim, as opposed to the Orders White armor wwith a dark blue trim. Also, there was a sword at his side, being contained by a black sheath with red lettering on it, which signified him as the leader.

Anton turned around to face his soldiers before they made their attack. As he opened his mouth, every word he spoke came out with confidence and even a hint of excitement.

"Men, we stand at the ready to fight, and to kill for our cause. Far too long have we allowed the humans to take control of these lands. They have grown far too comfortable, and far too arrogant. We will right their wrongs, today," He started, pacing back and forth in front of the soldiers, who by now were already grinning like madmen.

"This Kingdom... Has changed for the worse, and it will not change unless we do something about it. So we will. We, together, as the Legion of the Phoenix, will show our enemies what it means to be great. They think that we are abominations, even lower than dirt. They are wrong."

"I don't know, nor do I care what your personal beliefs are. Maybe you think we are higher evolved forms of humans, or that we are the soldiers of God, but that is not important. What is important is the humans now believe that we don't deserve life. I won't stand for it... Will any of you!?" He shouted at them.

"No Sir!" was his simulataneous response from every soldier under his command. They were all loyal, trained soldiers, and it showed.

"I didn't think so... So let's make this simple. We, the Legion, shall burn down this human world that has grown too arrogant for life, and we shall re-build and re-shape this land in our own way, until there is nothing but the Phoenix left, because that is the way of the Phoenix, is it not!?"

    "YES, SIR!" Was his response.

"We shall take this pitiful land into flames, and turn it to ashes, and we'll come back as one force! So, stand before your enemy, he who would kill you, and kill him first. Show not mercy or fear, or you will surely die! Now, are you ready to take this land into flames!?"

    "SIR, YES SIR!!"

Anton's smirk grew wider at this before turning his back to his men and drawing the sword at his side, raising it to the walls of the town. "Then, let us burn all who oppose us to the ground!" He said, raising his other hand. With the snap of his fingers, there was a large explosion at the main gate to the town. It shook the ground, blew open an entrance and wiped away any building or person too close to the starting point of the explosion.

Within seconds his soldiers were pouring into the town, killing anyone who dared try to stop them. Anton, being the actve leader he was, charged in with his soldiers.

Kita was one of the few cat mutants (or Felinians) who dared to venture into the human town. A long time ago their breed emerged but since they weren't particularly dominant nor predatory, they eventually fled to the forest where they were able to survived on the river and it's fish. Their lifestyles could be secluded and not many even knew they existed. And yet there was only so much that the Felinian catgirl village could do to sustain itself. Winter was coming and to prepare, the Felinians needed human medicine. And thus Kita, being one of the elite, was sent to get medical herbs from the town.

Kita hid her ears under the hood and her tail was underneath the rest of the cloak. She bartered a prized gem in exchange for the medicine and kept a lookout for those humans which may seek to do harm to her kind. She was a fighter, yes, but even then she didn't want to end up in a fight that could be her last. Taking the bag of precious herbs, she stepped outside only, to stumble from the shockwave of the large explosion. Kita immediately leapt into the shadows and then onto a roof where none would really see her unless they looked.

These mutant hunters... they were attacking brutally - not giving a care for life at all. How could they be so cruel? Kita's heart raced as she tried to decide what to do. She could see the leader down there - he was more elaborately dressed and the men answered to him. Kita wanted to bring an end to the slaughtering of her kind, but right now there were no other catgirls to back her up. To attack alone would be plain suicide. Even if she used her crossbow, the other men would hunt her down. No, attacking wasn't an option. And she had to get the medicine back to the village.

Kita looked towards the distance... If only she could get out of the town without being noticed. But what if one of them saw her and tracked her back to the village? It would only bring death to everyone. So escaping wasn't an option either - at least not yet.

Kita tried to hide herself in the shadow of a chimney. She would wait there until there was a chance to escape. But then the cries of those being killed down below was horrific. Sure, they were of a different species, but still... Kita tried to block the sound from her ears. Unfortunately, that lead to a small tear in the medicine bag as a single vial fell out and rolled down the rooftop...

Kita was quick enough to catch the vial before it fell too far over the roof, but in doing so she had let out a meow. At the same time, her hood slipped off her head, revealing her black cat ears.

Anton's ears perked up, along with the soldiers next to him when they heard the feline noise. Anton turned his head to the origin of the noice and frowned llightly. He wasn't really paying attention before. He was paying attention to his and his mens handiwork in the destruction of the village, otherwise he probably would have noticed her there. "One was trying to sneaky," He muttered before turning to fully face her.

He raised a hand to her and prepared to blow her to bits under the assumption she was an enemy. Just before he blew her up, one of his men stopped him.

"Sir! Allow us! We'll take her out for you," The soldier offered. As the leader one mesely girl was not worth his energy. And, he had not killed enough people yet. He had a lot of hatred towards the humans to take out, even if she wasnot human herself.

"Do whatever, just be quick about it. I'm burning this town down in twenty minutes.." He explained before taking his eyes off the girl.

The soldier acted instantly, hopping onto the roof closest to her and drawing his sword. "Ha, and you were almost safe," He said with a smirk, approaching her slowly.

Kita clutched hard onto her bag of medicine vials. The town was going to be burned up soon and that meant that there will no longer be any other sources of medicine. This would be all that the village can use for the winter. She drew one of her swords as well and held it in front of her in a defensive position. Kita knew that she couldn't fight as well with just one hand and that she would be out of balance. Thus Kita carefully stepped back, hoping to convince the soldier to let her go.

"Please... I mean no harm and simply want to purchase medicine. I come from a peaceful village and if you let me go I'll promise to help you and your comrades if you need refuge or supplies. I really need to get this medicine home"

"And this roof cannot support two people right? It would be a shame if we fell into the burning mess down below..." said Kita as she wondered whether her persuasion would work.

But then again, maybe she could simply try running and hope the soldier isn't fast enough to catch her. Or set her on fire.

The soldier smirked at the girl. He had no intentions of letting her go. His mission was to kill, and he wasgood at it. "Not a chance. If we want refugee we can go where we want and kill anyone who oppses," He stated harshly, gripping his sword tighter. "We have supplies... And as for falling... Who would die? Not me! The Phoenix always protects those under it's wings from it's own flames! I would be saved. You won't. Then we'll find your village and burn that to the ground," He stated, beginning his advance on her.

"But you don't need to worry about that. You'll die before it happens!" He declared, and just as he was about to pounce with the intent to kill, he was stopped.

Whether they knew it or not, Anton had been listening the entire time Anton had been listening. It was mostly boredom that caused him to listen, and pity decided to save her. "Wait, Yadero." It was a command, one that stopped all movement in the soldiers body. "Capture her, alive, and bring her here," He added. When he spoke he didn't even bother to look at the two. He just kept his eyes on all the other fights around.

Yadero was confused, and he wanted to question Anton, but he wasno fool. "Right..." He responded quietly, looking to the girl again, scowling. "Then, your coming with me," He stated, as if it was already a decided fact.

It was only now that Kita realised she was in a more dire situation than she first thought. She couldn't - no she mustn't let the Phoenix know where her village was. She had to lead them away from it. But there were so many of them! Sure they would... no, now was not the time to go about worrying. But it was amazing though - they were immune to their own flames? Kita secretly wished she had that sort of power. And so this guy was Yadero. Kita gripped her sword tightly, but could clearly see that if she fought here, it would only bring upon the wrath of the other soldiers. If anything, she had to fight one or one, or even better, lose them and warn the others.

"Come with you? Unlikely. If you are a brother of the flame, then I'm a sister with the wind!" said Kita as she ripped off her cloak and threw it at Yadero's face. Hoping that would bide her some time, she took off along the rooftops, careful to not step in holes or weak looking areas. She hoped she would be able to make to the town wall. If she could, she would jump over it (and hope her tail isn't set alight by Yandero or Anton). If not, she would have to simply turn around and take a fighting stance.

Yadero growled and sliced the cloak in half as it reached him, though the action did allow her to get a little distance on her. He followed after her quickly, taking the same caution of where he stopped. He was not worried about burning or falling on a sharp object, but he would not allow her to get too much distance between them.

Anton sighed. A sister of the wind? How foolish she was. He turned to two of his other soldiers and glared at them. "You go too. Yadero may need your help," He commanded. They both nodded, saluted, and jumped on the rooftops before dashing off after the two.

"Gabriel," Anton said, causing a man his age and height with brown hair and blue eyes to land right next to him. A more noticeable trait would be the two pure white wings on his back. "You go too... Make sure she gets back to me alive and well," He said. Gabriel was one of his elites. And his best friend, he could always count on him.

Gabriel smiled and nodded before taking to the skies to follow.

Kita silently cheered to herself as she leapt over the wall and was then in a clearance. Then she looked up in the direction of something flying in the air. It had pretty white wings and it reminded her of the legends she was told. They were called the winged protectors, those of the good and kind. But wait... he was wearing the same clothes as those men who were burning down the village! In the time that Kita spent looking at the winged one, the other Yandero and the other solider had caught up with her. It was rare for her to get distracted like this.

Kita weighed up her chances. Even if she dropped the medicine and fought with her dual swords, it would not prevent the situation where she might get picked up into the air by the winged soldier. They had the power of fire and she was outnumbered.

Kita almost wanted to give in and let herself be captured, because to fight would only be suicide. But come to think of it, these soldiers could have burnt her, but they didn't. And yet, if she was captured, what would happen to her? Would she be interrogated to reveal the location of the catgirl village? Even if she was to die here, they would eventually find out the location sooner or later. Maybe she could convince them to forgo her village? Yes, that would be the plan. Well, that is if the Phoenix could be convinced.

Kita lowered her sword, whilst still being on high alert should they try to attack her.

"Why is it that you want me? What are you going to do with me?" asked Kita.

The men who were chasing her stopped and grinned at the girl. Yadero was just about to speak when Gabriel allowed himself to fall from the sky and land on his feet softly, right next to her. He was in range of her sword, though he wasn't too concerned. He was not going to attack, but he was far from defenseless.

"Hmm, even I'm not exactly sure," he started, smiling wide. "It's a bit rare for Anton to not just outright kill somebody. And he's never wanted to capture someone before, so I'm stumped," He laughed at this. It was the truth. It wasn't too often he didn't understand Anton's motives, either. They were always on the same wave-length.

"Anyway, It would be best if you just came along quietly with us. There is no need to fight," He said, laughing a little, though his smile was still bright and genuine. "That way nobody has to get hurt and... I may be able to convince Anton to get that medicine to your village," He said kindly. Of course, it wasn't a sure thing, but he was Anton's closest friend. If anybody could convince hiim, it was Gabriel.

The gentle voice and laugh of the winged one calmed Kita. She gazed at his wings for a while and sort of wanted to touch them. It was almost the same as when some humans would want to touch her ears and tail. Kita realised that through what he just said, she might not be returning home for a while. But was it really a good thing for the medicine to be sent back the village? That would mean they would know where it was.

Kita looked at the other two...These guys weren't so bad after all. She had seen much more "beastly" humans before. Then again it was just because Anton, their leader told them to hold back. Her eyes focused onto the carnage and burning of the town behind them. Her ears could pick up the sound from the distance - screams and yells of pain and sorrow. She hoped that it wouldn't be her village one day.

Her attention was brought back onto the winged one and she relaxed a bit, as she tried to push away the thoughts in her head. There was really no other choice for her now.

    "I'll come with you"
