Classical Era Nation RP with Spammers?!

You read the title that is itself a gag response to how one would read the more presumably normal mundane title of a thread if posted in here, as a stock joke that completely falls flat RIGHT! I've been wanting to do this for a while, and while there was a brief period of me leaning towards another World Imperialism reboot ( with a map of that even drawn up, seen here ) being driven by a certain Australian. However, I've been a bit Industrial/Steampunk'd out, and wanted to do something smaller, older, easier to manage the technological innovations of... The Classical Era. We're talking Iron Age to Pre-"Dark Ages". Rome, Carthage, Macedonia, Achaemenids, whatever. Arguably the Inca, Aztec, and Maya as well, although they reached 'Classical Era' a bit late. Then again, resources, animals, etc. Damned impressive for what they did have.

But that's not the point. The point is that I'm making a Nation RP set in a 'Classical Era'. Have you seen the ( now updated ) map yet? It'll be updated as people stake claims and, as I'll later note, allow them some degree of change to the landscape to suit their tastes and or needs.

Now, I know what you may be thinking.

Nation RPs? Aren't those all epeen waving douche fests?

... well I wouldn't have worded it that way. Yes, some NRPers can be dicks, and ''play it to win'' forgetting that it's a RP, and therefore a happy fun time story that's written by multiple people... for fun. See, to help deter that, I'm going to make a note here for those interested. If you join, you must be willing to ''lose''. It could be lose a battle, or a war. Lose your favorite crafted diplomat because their assassination makes sense and progresses the story. Lose your granary stocks in a fire. Whatever. This isn't the arena, and losing can, and should, be just as fun as ''winning''. Remember that. Oh, and in case I find you forgetting, not only can I just boot you, but there's going to be a couple large empires that will put the squeeze on you until you behave, and/or be responsible for your IC demise if you are booted.

Okay, so what if everyone agrees to that? Aren't Nation RPs difficult to do?

Not really. If you can imagine the going-ons of a single person, then you just do that a few times for various stations. Wa-la, you now RP'd a royal family, an entourage of diplomats, generals, soldiers, whatever. Can you imagine a setting? How does that setting change over time with regards to outside settings? Wa-la, you now RP'd your changing nation. It's really not that big a problem.

But I don't like the concept of a Nation RP

What about Scion?

Scion is currently on hold while I sort things out with the canon with the GM who ranks higher than me in the current continuity I want to use.

What about Blorbs?

I'm planning on doing that twice or thrice a week, on a regular schedule, with, when Scion is back, Scion being on Fridays, and Blorbs being sometime around it.

What about Noir?

I'm not even sure if you guys want to continue that. If you do, lemme know, and I'll see what I can work to make it get on the road.

Okay, now that my token objection is out of the way, I'm in. If you're open to taking land claims at this very early stage, I've got my eye on that sort of triangular chunk of land to the left of the Psourbatlik Sea title marker thing. Jussayin'.

Oh, and about Noir... I kind of forgot about finishing my character for that. I'd still be up for doing that and playing it, but honestly I'm not like "omfg we HAVE TO play it why did you put it on hold?!?!?!" It seems like it'll be fun and has some great ideas for groups and stuff, but I never get super invested in RP ideas and can let them go without any issue if need be. Comes in handy for situations like this. Don't feel obligated to keep the idea going for my sake if you're not super stoked to run it, I'll live either way.
