A meeting in the most confidential of locations in Washington D.C. Held in orders of current president John F. Kennedy, and in attendence were many key US government officials at the time, like FBI director J. Edgar Hoover and most notably, somatology expert, and a recent discoverer in human genetic breakthroughs, Charles Xavier. The wheelchair bound individual had found what was a rare yet slowly growing gene in the human body known simply as ‘the x gene’. A dormant gene at first in a person’s DNA system. Until a particular moment, of which studies haven’t been able to pinpoint due to its erratic activation timing. This gene was still in its early forming, and only had a few cases attached to it at the moment. However the number was growing quickly and thus the President decided action needed to be made.

The suggestions and thoughts during this meeting were varied and at times went to extreme measures. The boardroom was tense, thick in fear over the what ifs of a wrong move. However it was finally Xavier who brought up an idea. Gathering up and keeping those with the X gene and the gene itself in secret. Instead swearing those with it into secrecy if possible. Otherwise, using funding from the government, they could create an organization. Set in keeping the world safe through spy based and anti-terrorism missions. Using their newfound abilities to protect the public from those who wish to use their powers for harm. The idea sunk in, and got a silent nod from the majority of officials at the meeting.

It was then The X Project began.

The project still works to this day, it’s HQ hidden deep into the ground of DC. Those with the X gene, or powers from other means. Work together to stop problems in the world from occurring. While the secret agents have the more glamourous, not to mention highest paid jobs. The project also hires the brightest minds to work not only on learning more about the X gene, but other possibilities of human advancement. Those not capable of living a normal life due to appearances or whatever else, are given the finest living quarters, food, and other necessities available. The project has even begun perfecting a new wristband capable of disguising a person to appear normal even when they’re not at all.

These days the X Project remains a government program the absolute majority of the public remain unaware of. There are conspiracy theories, the occasional trouble that arouses suspicion. However the project and government have been able to keep it under wraps for some time. With teams that are generally multi-tasked in terms of skills and powers, there are specialty teams. The all covert squad, the squad that handles the more unsavory creatures of the night, most notable the squad known simply as ‘Team Z’. Led by Logan, this is a team established as a last means, and must be willing completely to kill in order to accomplish goals. The high standards of squads and agents past is something that is expected of this new generation of agents is expected to uphold. They’ve been given the best training for their powers, in hand-to-hand combat, firearms, and of espionage and infiltration.

This is their story.

(Character note: Basically while the X-Men was used as a very loose base for this RP, any Marvel hero within reason [Iron Man doesn’t really work since its a suit of armor, and I don’t think Silver Surfer is just going to randomly join] is open to make a character out of. You are allowed of course to loosely remake the character in a makeover of style and personality. I am disallowing OCs for this since lets be honest... if you can’t find a Marvel character to base your character around, your too picky for your own good.)

Brief bio: Glob lost all memory of his past when he got his powers. In reality hew grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland in a council flat. He was always getting in fights whether it be about someone insulting his mother or even just over who was paying for the chips. He had his fair share of trips to the hospital, lucky the NHS is free unlike America. If it was like America his family would have been run into the ground with debt ages ago! He didn't do so well in school and hated most of his teachers to the point of writing on tables loudly when he knew they could see him, shouting things out or punching other kids. His parents didn't like him so much either, they expected the perfect child who would grow up and buy them a mansion instead of an old, broken down room in a council flat. But what they got was a chav who got into too many fights. He gathered scars and marks from the fights over the years but that all changed when he got his powers. One day he woke up he felt something he had not felt before on purpose. He was quite small and so his feet never touched the end of his bed without him sliding down a bit. But that day he didn't have to slide down. He just thought he had some big growth spurt, yeah he wasn't that smart. But when he walked through to the living room to find his parents shrieking at him and even attacking him he knew something was wrong.
"Monster, monster!"
"What did you do with my son?!"Were some of the things they shouted. He thought they had gone crazy until he saw his reflection. Even he thought he was a monster and so he left. He wandered for ages, mostly either in shadow or in the wild until he found Xaviers school. There he was accepted, sure some people gave him a second glance but there were others who looked strange too! He lived there for years and finally became an X-Man.

Alright so I'm trying to think, since he would have to have one of the holographic devices for when his out and about. That you need to give him an appearance for when his disguised. Would also need a fake name for such a time. Same applies to Byrd Man if you do go with Beast.
