Humans as a whole are not a savage race, in fact, the majority of the human kingdoms are rather peaceful people who will not fight unless provoked. The humans that have invaded Kirael are an exception. They originated in the far north, never bothering anybody, but as time dragged on and all of the game that they had been hunting was either killed off or moved away from the north. This caused the once secluded people to move further south, to find areas where they could once again settle down and live off of the land. As the humans reached the first new kingdom that stood in their path, they came to the decision that it would be much easier to just take the new kingdom for themselves, both expanding their territory and widening the areas that they could tax and make money from. So, in only a matter of a few years, the people that were once hunter-gatherers became a greedy people whose only goal was expansion and making more money. They developed supremacist ideals, believing that they were the true rulers of the world. Soon, nearly all of their people came to believe the idea of their race being supreme, and so, the Northerners raised a huge, expertly trained army that was twice as strong as any other army in the world. Once their march of destruction began, there was no one who could resist, no one could even land a strong blow on the Northerners' army.
After they gained control of Kirael, the first order of business in their new territory was to establish a capital city, and the charred remains of the elven capital, Tywinn, was the place that they chose. The city grew quickly, but it was not the Tywinn of old, no, this Tywinn took on the style of architecture that the Northern people used. The building were all made of gray stone with nearly no windows, they are short, being two stories tall at the maximum and are all rectangular in shape. Elven architecture though, despite it being almost completely destroyed, consisted of ornate and colorful buildings, sprawling in height. They use many arches, domes, and steeples and stained glass windows.
The government for the humans in Kirael resides in the capital city of Tywinn, there is a council of six men and women that vote on important issues that pertain to the inhabitants and land of Kirael. They are notorious for being very racist and hateful in the laws that have anything to do with any race that is not human. They are also known for giving very lenient laws to the soldiers and protectors of the human Kirael. It is known that the council and their stance on certain laws are easily changed through the use of just a few hundred gold pieces.
In only 30 years, many human cities and towns appeared across Kirael and a trademark of theses places are the slums that are generally on the very outer fringes of them. The slums are dirty, crowded, and miserable. They are filled to the brim with elves and dwarves that have come out of hiding. These races, who were once proud and powerful were reduced to starving in the middle of the streets, working as slaves and living off of their small wages of a maximum of 3 gold pieces a day, which is enough to buy two loaves of bread. All of the elves and dwarves get their water from public water pumps that are known to sometimes cause disease among the people of the slums. There are human soldiers stationed in the slums, their only job being to quell any signs of a possible rebellion, which is a rule that the soldiers bend to their will so that they can essentially do whatever they want.
